Would be awesome to bring this group back in 5-7 years to see how their views have changed. Personally my views have changed a lot at different stages of life. This is a great video.
Agreed, good point. Everyone starts out as a a liberal democrat in their youth (mom/dad why doesn’t the gov’t just give everyone a million dollars and everyone will be happy). Then the parent, education, and real life take root and people understand how the world works. It makes sense that the fact that if only voters of 45+ voted in the past couple elections, ALL 50 states would be Republican. To restate, if only those 45 and older were allowed to vote, every single state would be 100% republican. To put in perspective, think of when you were 10 years younger, are you smarter/wiser now or then? Would you rather make decisions with your current knowledge or that of your younger self?
100% and I think the young married mom was a wonderful representative of that exact point. She's not that much older, but her life experience gives her a decade's worth more practical knowledge of the world.
@@Trail_Cairn I kind of agree, to a point. I don't think they start out liberal at all. The family system is a cross between an autocracy and socialism. Everything being given to them they need, but the parents being the king or queen. As far as them growing up to be Republican, if that was true, we all would be now. But our experiences do have an effect on where we are. I was a Republican, but 100% disagree with Trump who I do not in any way see him as a conservative in any way. So, I guess it depends on your definition of Republican to start with. Of course I would rather make serious decisions now than when I was young. When I was younger, I voted more with a hive mind mentality. Now I look and want the best solutions for the whole country, not a single subset of the citizens only. I see the whole picture of our place in the world as well as in the country. When I was younger, I saw only where I was.
When they were talking about one word to describe Democrats and Republicans. I'm not so sure about Democrats, but the first word that come to mind for Republicans was "duplicity."

@@jayjay210197 I agree. But if your stance, and the stance of your political affiliation, glorifies being a trad wife and you openly say that you would absolutely love to be one, you can't go in the literal opposite direction without being a hypocrite to the values of your own party.
The one whose uncle died in 9/11 has lived. That was sad. His fears are legitimate and I understand why he was so passionate about Israel - to protect America from this radical Islamist jihadism
The reason is because they hire media trained conservatives, conservatives from think tanks and special interests groups, and online conservative personalities who know how to derail conversations and try to evoke anger. The people, mostly conservatives, that they invite are not there to change their minds. They are making money from their views. That’s not to say the liberals they invite don’t have those, but once you learn about the real way in which America operates and combined with Jubilee casting choices, it’s very clear why the conversations in their videos keep getting derailed.
To say women were better off and happier in the 50s is WILD and baseless. And you can’t blame democrats for the fact you don’t have a husband or kids yet
No it’s not. Statistics are showing is women are on antidepressants more now than they were before. Women can’t have the families they want because it’s expensive and they can’t afford to either be at home if they want or even with two incomes it’s hard to afford kids. There’s a difference between acknowledging faults of each generation or acknowledging that maybe a common opinion was incorrect but it’s baseless to say women in the 50s weren’t happy because I have met plenty of old women who were happy back in the 50s. The boomers weren’t even adults in the 50s and they became adults in the late 60s and 70s and they are worse off than the previous generation who parented
There were tons of problems back then. Always have been always will be. But if you think this new accepted trend of being nihilistic and bitter comes close to anything resembling true happiness you are deluding youself.
the girl in the suit completely disregarding the other girls' fears about being alone in a primarily male space (where the men also probably are intoxicated) just because she hasn't experienced it is crazy. she needs to realise that her experiences and desires are important but they don't and shouldn't dictate other people's lives or negate their experiences.
Yes, she was so mean. Also guy in blue polo shirt was so mean after Sam with curly hair and the grey suit just said his uncle was killed in 9/11 and that was why he cared so much about Israel and against terrorism then blue polo guy just starts screaming at him in anger WHY DO YOU CARE ABOUT ISRAEL. Not cool
@@HannahAdelstein-bf5tw There’s zero connection between 9/11 and Israel, so why would he care so much about Israel because of 9/11? China has suffered numerous terrorist attacks by radical Uyghur Islamists, Han Chinese getting stabbed, slashed, and hacked to death at train stations, why does he not care deeply about China?
Only one who really has moral clarity and a solid sense of national security and history is the one whose uncle died in 9/11 and stood up against the radical Islamic terrorism knocking on America’s door, putting America first by standing with Israel.
The Left leaning kids were great here. Politically I classify myself as right of center, but was noticing how thoughtful, polite, non-boorish the pro democrat kids were. Good job👌
I am conservative and agree with you, they were nice, also Sam with a grey suit and curls was nice, and used facts and kindness, he would get my vote :)
The lady in the plaid blazer doesn't give the image of someone who would thrive in the 50s...not only is she very loud, argumentative and opinionated (cuts off everyone, incl men, which women weren't allowed to do back then), she chose to get a higher education (she wasn't forced, she could have gotten married to a trad husband) and runs her own business. She's fantasizing about being a housewife but overlooking how hard it actually it is.
Good point! She and horrible blue polo guy should get married. Only nice conservative was grey suit guy, I liked him and the liberals. I am saying this as a moderate conservative.
Definitely can't picture her happily smiling whle scrubbing the toilet and floors, washing and changing bedclothes for her vomiting, diarrhea-plagued children when they're sick, accepting their ungratefulness when they don't even notice she made their favourite for dinner... real-life Mom stuff. She looks like she expects her husband to bring her a tiara home from work every day.
I've literally been saying this! She's acting like someone is forcing her to work the job that SHE chose. Being a trad wife is very possible even though it may be uncommon in today's society. It's no one's fault that she can't find a wealthy man to take care of her.
She’s too asculine to have any ma want to wife her and provide for her. She makes it seem like it’s impossible to marry young and be a SAHM today in the USA. 😅
I do think the issue here is social media. It feels crappy because you are always comparing to perfect influencers, all over the world, competing for a mate with all the villages in the USA , When I was this age you only compared to your neighbors, and meet local people. Why doesn't anyone talks about this?
Can't you do both? Be a mom with a PhD? My mother in law is. You will need to find the right supportive husband who can support the family while you study. You need a lot of discipline, stay organized and a lot of energy to get through long days every day but it is possible.
@ yes she can do both for sure! It is confusing because she said she didn’t want to have an education initially and then she wanted to be a PhD. So she contradicted herself.
@@ineuifityabsolutely she can. She’s stuck in some false dichotomy between 50’s housewife (which she has shown to understand little about) and professional woman, a fallacy of opinion that she *checks notes* blames “liberals” for? Girl in the blazer, just let your Jesus take the wheel & stop blaming other people.
Margret Sanger was a known racist who supported eugenics. There’s a reason planned parenthood is primarily located on black neighborhoods. She’s upset her textbook glorified her and reasonably so
Her point if you were listening was that it glorified an event that doesn't align morally with her values, which are similar to the values the country was founded upon.
@@DuroDP I might interpret it that way if I'm in a good mood, but really she said '...have an entire section dedicated to this woman...'. Sounds as if she's more pissed off at the fact there is a section on it at all, over the fact that it would be glorifying something she didn't stand for. And even if it was glorifying that event, it's still something that is supported by a lot of people, which you will simply have to deal with. Additionally, we glorify a lot of historical events, that are or aren't supported by religion. A lot of scientific discoveries were done in service of religion. I don't dispute or dislike the outcome of the scientific research merely because it was or wasn't done in support of religion.
@@machheydt176 I agree for the sake of history we need to be educated on even the most heinous of events, however an event supported by a lot of people is not a justification for that event. Take Nazi Germany for example, there's also been many other instances where the majority were wrong. I'm talking morality not religion, "planned parenthood" or abortion is not moral. We might have our own rationalisations but there is no single moral argument for killing the unborn. If you think you have one I'd love to hear it.
As a Catholic woman, the blazer girl just seems miserable in her own life, it goes beyond debate at this point, she’s single-handedly bringing down the debate and open conversation. Everyone else is at least coming from a respectful tone. She’s why we are judged as annoying and intense. Girl calm down.
she should be mad, she feels forced to work for a soulless corporation in her prime! nothing is affordable due to corporate greed in America. every person trying to discredit blazer girl is just letting monopolies trample on the working class. it's a rising sentiment that a single income family isn't sustainable anymore. it's become more difficult for women to become a SAHM than a worker! women should have the right to choose to be workers and/or SAHMs
does the guy with the moustache realise that the first amendment quite literally prohibits the state from establishing a religion, like a key element of the US constitution is the separation of religion and state. I am trying so hard to listen to republicans more but god this is hard.
Yeah he's a textualist. Look, I agree with you, but it's actually not explicitly stated in the Constitution that the government has to separate church and state, rather assumed as an implication from the establishment clause and free exercise clause.
The constitution doesn't actually establish sep. of church and state, that is something that comes from a letter Jefferson wrote. It prohibits the government from establishing an official religion (this had more to do with the fact that the founding fathers were of different Christian denominations and didn't want one denomination being dominant over the other).
Seriously I've never been so revolted. If you wanted to be married at 19 with 6 babies you could have done that. You chose your path. Don't blame the women who wanted the option of a career on your unhappiness.
I think the girl with the teddy bear was my standout. Her counter arguments were strong. I really like when she said “Are you still patriotic even after all of that”
My biggest problem, as a social liberal, with conservatives is the belief that there is a right way to live your life, and that it is confined to strict binaries. The notion that women should not work at all and should have children, the notion that abortion is bad, the notion that you must marry someone who is the opposite gender, the notion that you must instil Christian beliefs, etc. ALL I stand for is the choice to decide whether you WANT those, because it's great to want those things, but I absolutely, fully agree that it should be perfectly accepted to do the absolute opposite. Edit: please note that I specifically said conservative, not Republican - they're not strictly the same because Republicans also tend to hold centrist or libertarian views in many cases
Trump supporter here. If you paint conservatives with such a false and limited point of view of course you will continue thinking that. I personally think that it is fine for a woman to work and a man to stay at home, or the reverse. And if a woman doesn't want to have children that is her choice. Actually I think that could be good because we already have too many people. I am agnostic and have been for gay marriage since the 1990s. OK maybe I am a bit more progressive than the average Trump supporter, but I don't know many conservatives who actually think the woman should not work. That is very backward. What I don't like about liberals, is that they paint conservatives in easily critical caracatures which are largely based on ignorance, like you are doing.
When most people in your society are conforming to those restrictive norms, most will prosper and feel fulfilled and happy. We've seen what about 1 century of continuous liberal progress has done and society is crumbling. No one believes in the system anymore because they see no benefit. Mental illness, childlessness, and social trust are worse than many Americans thought possible. There's the end result of a free society for a hedonistic species like the human. I don't care at all about freedom. The goal is to have a good society. Some freedoms will be conducive to that outcome and others need to be kept on a short leash for the greater good.
This doesn't really feel like a fair representation of the sides. Right-leaning folks here are out of college and working jobs. Left folks are still in school (and outnumbered here).
Yeah, I was wondering the same thing after about 10 minutes. I then took a look at the other videos on this channel, and I realized this wasn't meant to be a balanced discussion.

Gee he just told you. No kindness. The liberal kids and Sam were the nicest people. The others not nice at all
She isn’t. Her whole line about black women having kids out of wedlock while completely ignoring the higher rates of incarceration because of the law that Bill Clinton passed and the for-profit prison system that incentivized keeping them there and thereby perpetuating the lawlessness crisis when kids grow up without their parent figures, shows a complete lack of depth of thought. I admire her passion though and I hope she broadens her perspectives.
@@andyruiz5676I agree. Plus I think people are only used to and supportive of overly aggressive liberals who are very intolerant and hypocritical. As a college sophomore who is black and not being represented here, it does feel as though a vital perspective is missing. For example, using a statistic about the black community when not one person there has ever walked a day in a person of color's life seems weird to me. And that spills into economics, abortion, etc. There are so many issues that they have talked about that would have benefited from a person of color's perspective. Let me be clear I am not taking away from the fact that this was a good debate and many important points were made on all three sides. But at least in my mind and my peers and family who have watched this debate it is one-sided when there isn't a diverse panel being shown and represented.
As a grown Black woman, that's the first thing that I thought as well. This is why Black history is SO important because they're missing such vital facts. I do feel as though the young man, on the end, tried his best, and I commend him for that.
Yup noticed that too when they spoke on the indigenous people thing. I'm of South American indigenous descent but i will say but sides did say true and exaggerated things. I think when people bring up indigenous peoples they should consider that their are differnet groups and cultures (for example how we treat Asians- southeast, east, etc.). Some groups faced different types of injustices. And still do. There are things that could be spoken about like lack of proper access to running water and stuff that apparently also affects some natives in North America.
First thing I noticed too, I saw an equal representation of these 8 people's beliefs, and I'm like great! Then I remembered wait, they're all white...there is a strong bias due to there not being other ethnicities.
It's funny she said i have to work, i wish i could be a mom, then she goes on to say all her girl friends are all married with kids. Yeah i wonder why her girlfriends can do that but not her. Maybe because shes so wrapped up in the politics of it all
Fact check: America does not “give” Israel more money than any other country including America. America does spend the most on America directly but second has been Ukraine. Additionally it’s not “giving money.” For Israel it’s specifically funds going to military equipment and defense only, they can’t use it for anything else and it’s stipulated they must buy American equipment, so America makes a huge amount of money back on it. This is a loan and an investment, with the goal being American security as this poor smart young guy whose uncle died from 9/11 understands- the danger of radical Islam, jihadism and Islamism is not a joke. What does my uterus have to do with me enjoying my job? Hearing women and men generalize over other people's wishes and life goals is preposterous.
Because whether you like it or not, the only way a society can make progress is if we all adhere to our roles. The nuclear family is the bedrock of society, as soon as it becomes the norm to dismantle the nuclear family society will crumble. Not saying all women should be house wives, but I am saying that most women should be.
@@DuroDP Bruh, I'm a guy, and even I need a shower after reading that nasty comment. I believe it's short-sighted and shows how limited you have studied this topic. The nuclear family is not the issue. A nuclear family is not why families stayed together in the past. It has more to do with the support system rather than one cis man and one cis woman raising kids under one roof. A family with grandparents and a mother/father raising kids are just as successful as other "nuclear families." Also nuclear families failed across the board, just look at all the white collar criminals, most come from nuclear families. This is a matter of social economics issues, not nuclear families, for why this country is changing.

That is what America can offer, a helping hand to more forward.
Gen Z liberal here. One thing I would love to see in left-of-center institutions is a comparable devotion to scrutiny of non-Western societies. Western Hegemony and Western influence like any form of power has pros and cons, and I've witnessed a complete monopoly of attention devoted to denigrating the West through selective attention to its failures. I have seen no comparable requisites about, for example, the dangers of political Islamism or the negative qualities of other political systems or ways of life. This, I think, has blinded us to the urgency of issues abroad, such as slavery. Those issues (particularly slavery) seem to me to take higher priority than the issues we debate in the culture wars, not that those issues aren't also important.
You don't see comparable critiques because they have been taught a false alternative history that presents all non whites as victims, so they are simply ignorant of the realty outside the west. In Nyc, my public school education teaches that all 3 “major” religions are basically the same, when one of those blatantly advocates for the killing of apostates. That liberal delusion

I liked the curly hair conservative guy that actually spoke more about the fact that there's a why behind abortions that need to be addressed. E.g., it's expensive to start a family. Too many times, the right (I'm moderate right leaning) doesn't talk enough about the why nor try to address those real reasons. They just speak on the right to life, and people escaping accountability, but there's more to it.
I think there's a major problem within the pro-life movement. They're pro-birth, but they don't really put any effort into supporting mothers after that. I don't think that's acceptable behavior.

I understand that starting a family is expensive, but we should really be teaching kids the effects of sex early on. Not just some “sex education” course, but the whole 9 yards. The taking care of a kid, the financial issue, everything, and even addressing the rampant STD issue that is rising in the US due to casual sex. I think fully informing the next generation is the true way to prevent unwanted pregnancies. Knowing that playing “hide the zucchini” can lead to a rough patch in life would stop a lot of people from making reckless decisions. Like I remember the whole taking a fake baby home and having to take of it episodes on TV and thinking “oh hell no”. That was enough for me to wrap it up.
Mainly the takeaway here is I’m worried about the depth of these students’ analysis. God bless them they’re trying. But some of these questions they pose to each other are incoherent. “Do you like your country’s history”? History is not a person or actor, it’s a record of what happened. I’m worried for the young nationalists. Being on the defensive against your teachers because you think they’re biased does some worrying things to a persons brain, educators are doing something wrong because these young 20 somethings are so worried about defending their “camp” that they’re just fully stopped listening in class
History is open to interpretation, and what I might have read in book and agree as fact, you may say it is hearsay. As for the young nationalists they are on the defensive because they have motivated reasoning bias, the teachers typically aren't the problem, but the media that hypes up prominent issues and then divides people along artificial lines. Motivated Reasoning, you can fact check me on that if you haven't already, still I hope that helps.

I love how Jackie feels like she's been robbed of her right to have a man look after her. She has this picture of life being amazing for women in the good ol days. Women, black people and LGBTQ people had a.... different experience back then, but okay lol
Is that the best you got? You have not learned that black peoples and other groups had an existence outside their race/class/sexuality and many aspects of life were not as bad as you think? And are you so ignorant to think that conservatives really want to go back to 1920 or something? The ignorance young liberals display is astounding.
As a normal woman…you want a man to look after you. Sorry that you are the 2% of the population that everyone has been pandering to these last few decades 🙄 Nobody gives a fuck that you are 31:18 LGBA23+1L and you wouldn’t have had it any different than anyone 50 years ago if you didn’t scream at everyone that you think you are ether other gender or walk around wearing objectively “unique” clothing and style..So sick of high school attention seekers having to be pandered to in the real world.

Teenage pregnancy in the United States occurs mostly unintentionally and out of wedlock but has been declining almost continuously since the 1990s. In 2022, the teenage birth rate fell to 13.5 per 1,000 girls aged 15 to 19, the lowest on record.
It’s shocking what they don’t know. Like this: Fact check: America does not “give” Israel more money than any other country including America. America does spend the most on America directly but second has been Ukraine. Additionally it’s not “giving money.” For Israel it’s specifically funds going to military equipment and defense only, they can’t use it for anything else and it’s stipulated they must buy from American companies, and work together to take out America's top enemies (which Israel has been doing, they have been killing America's top bad guys that killed Americans!), and America makes a huge amount of money and security back on it. This is a loan and an investment, with the goal being American security as this poor smart young guy whose uncle died from 9/11 understands- the danger of radical jihadism/Islamism is not a joke. This is fact and not opinion. Opinion is continue to aid or not. Grey suit guy I think understands this situation very well. Blue polo guy making these outrageous claims needs to get educated and not from online white supremacist "Christian" nationalist cults that want to cram their view on others.
There’s plenty of people who live in poverty and don’t leave thier kids and family. It’s more a value system. We need to focus on supporting areas in the us that are in poverty.
Yep! Not to mention, the nuclear traditional family is not a Christian concept… The one kid on the right who felt Republicans were preaching cannot distinguish people sharing statistics versus “you should live your life like”… Back to the point, marriage as a concept goes back at least 4,000 years to Mesopotamia, long before most religions today… However, as I recall, not much is known about the social norms around marriage at that time.. However, in more recent years the Chinese, Incas, and Ottomans set the foundation for marriage, as generally practiced around the world, today as being one of monogamy; granted, there were many exceptions for Royals and wealthy men who could have multiple wives, but that is a different matter… Point is, marriage, like many of our social norms in the US and Europe, is actually very close to that practiced in most of Asia and, to a lessor extent, the Middle East… While it is not easy to do, everyone should live outside of the US for a while, or at least travel international, so that they can gain a matter of perspective and understanding… Not to knock idealists, and while I do strive for progress as a society, most liberal idealists have never loved outside the US, have no idea how they would/could have survived in previous times (pragmatically speaking), nor how much progress we have made as a society comparatively… However, they criticize the leaders of prior eras, are ignorant of most of our history as a society, yet want to judge others, tell others which words are acceptable n society today, and essentially dictate our policies as a society…
Ole girl saying that it’s hard for a single woman in this country, then on the next question saying that women have it easier, and then no one calling her out on it is ridiculous to me.
She meant that it’s hard because many women want to be married and focus on their family but because of the economy we are pushed into the workforce and end up miserable doing it all. Then she said it’s easier for women because in terms of financial success women have more college degrees and have less trouble getting high jobs.
@andrealawrence8583 They have them in every other panel. Just cus this ONE TIME they don’t its a huge issue? Why are u even focusing on that? It’s ppl like you who make everything magnified that doesn’t need to be an issue.
I’m a Democrat- I do believe that both men and women struggle in today’s world in different ways. I understand the pressure men are under to provide, and women are also pressured and judged by society no matter if they are a career woman or a homemaker. Like, the woman in the plaid jacket - I totally understand that you want a peaceful life with family on a farm. Hey, I would love that too! Barefoot, pregnant, and taken care of…but I’m still ambitious and I believe I should have that right to pursue my dreams freely, and earn my own money, independent of my husband. Every woman should be able to do that - it’s the definition of feminism, actually. The difference is that I’m not telling you how to live your life, whereas I feel that’s what Republicans are trying to do now with everyone else.
the problem with this is, if enough women want to solely focus on their job and go kid-less, society will crash. We're seeing it throughout the western world right now, within 3 generations our society will collapse due to falling birth rates, not even taking into account our need for immigration due to high numbers of OAPs to care for. So by all means, focus on the job, achieve independence but as a society, as a whole, its destructing.
Yes and that explains why some of the comments from girl in the suit and dude in blue polo shirt were completely from online (problematic) people even if they made some good points, but blue polo shirt didn’t know how to defend his opinions or cite facts and actually spread misinformation. The US does NOT “give” more money to Israel than anyone first of all that would be America then Ukraine talking about where funds go but also it’s stipulated defense money only that goes to Israel and they have to buy from American-made companies as part of that stipulation, it literally creates American jobs and of course the mainstream media completely fails to share this completely factual information. Sam in the grey suit was best able to defend his positions with history and fact rather than just talking appoints and opinions. I was sad to hear his uncle died from 9/11. That explains why he’s so passionate about national security and sees a big connection between protecting Israel and protecting America, which I agree with him on.
This is true for those of us who were in highschool during or after COVID. I graduated in 2019 and my experience is VERY different from my younger siblings. When I was their ages I was always out, sadly everyone their age is closed off and we’re only a few years apart.
@duneeaaasha obviously my point of view is from someone who is about twice your age. Our worlds and childhood is much different, and we can only speak to our experiences. I have two sons, one 18 and one 19, so my opinion is based on observation. When I was 19 I moved out of town, went o college on my own, and the only way we could see our friends was to leave the house. What that does is force interaction with random people without the ability to hide behind the firewall of a text/DM/(insert seclusion facilitating device of choice). But I take your point, the younger GEN Z kids are at even more of a disadvantage.
I’m 19 and while I think social media is definitely having a huge negative impact like you said. Another factor I think is car culture and suburbia which I think compacts on that negative impact that social media has on socialization. For example if I’m looking visibly depressed I feel like someone is infinitely more likely to reach out and try to help if I’m walking, biking, or taking public transport. I’ve been to Mexico and France which are places where they have really strong community structures which are a byproduct of their great walkable communities. I think the difference this has on everyone for the better is staggering.
@judeseibel5909 I can see that. It forces people out of seclusion. I grew up in the street racing scene so we were always out in our cars, but the intent was to use the car to draw attention. As opposed to just riding solo with no social interaction. Public transportation will definitely build interpersonal skills.
The one whose uncle died in 9/11 has lived. That was sad. His fears are legitimate and I understand why he was so passionate about Israel - to protect America from this radical Islamist jihadism
My favorite line: 22:23 "Being a single working woman absolutely sucks, it's the WORST THING EVER. I hate it, I would go back to the 1950s in a second just so I wouldn't have to deal with this shit." 😂😂😂 where does one even begin
I miss the days where your vote was your business and no one else's. Today with social media everyone is an "expert" on everything. Do your own research and vote.
Humanity is one long experiment, if every generation is not taught the previous iterations then every couple of generations you start from scratch again
I’m just thrilled, as a 62-year-old man that these young people are involved with our process to the degree that they are. I was not at their age, and I did not realize the value of this until much later on regardless of your views, I applaud you and yourinvolvement, no matter what it is. Good for you and thank you, our nation needs our people to be involved.
I agree with you, however, I also hear kids who haven't experienced the reality of life, and are depending on what their family support systems. As they get some real experience, views tend to change for better or worse.
FP > Jubilee debates. This is the mirror image to the atrocious, shallow Jubilee videos. Love the civil conversations, even while having profound disagreements.
Agreed. It really shows you that the organization and the hosts create the environment. The FP and the host do a good job of maintaining a sense of professionalism and niceness that Jubilee doesn't always do.
In all seriousness though, the reality of working and having even one baby as a woman is crushing. The attachment issues alone from kids being in daycare-- oh and all your income is going bye-bye to pay for that.
@@laurensheppard5932 Folks have been working for years. Some people have turned having or wanting kids into a dystopian narrative. When it once was the most beautiful things to do.
Genuinely impressed with the people here, assuming there weren't edits made to hife their true values or talking points. Very respectful, very articulate, and considerate. More of these gen Zers, please.
Unfortunately, having a designated group to align with is comforting for many, even if it means sacrificing a given amount of individuality in exchange. As was demonstrated here, the person who was clearly the most meek and hesitant to speak her mind was Katie. Being that she is unaffiliated, she is most likely to receive scrutiny from all sides as opposed to having at least a group of her own to validate her opinions. Also I'm probably burying the lead; people just naturally tend to align themselves with whatever political party or lack thereof their parents aligned with when they were raising them, just like with religion, diet, music taste, sense of humor, etc
Political alliances have to be made, if you want to get any policies implemented in a two party system. Should you be beyond criticizing your own party? Absolutely not! But I think it's fine to be a part of a party. There's some practical benefits when it comes to getting your vision for the country implemented. It's just about not losing perspective of the bigger picture.
@@Bertinator-nm9ld The problem to begin with is the two party system. Political parties as a concept should be abolished. Make all political candidates independents and seat congress alphabetically
@@BittersweetDuality You will NEVER succeed in that venture unless you're able to get rid of our current "first past the poll" voting, and switch to some other system. What we have now is only stable with two political parties. No more, no less. If a third gets strong enough to be relevant, one of the two existing parties will fade to obscurity. That's just a natural consequence of how we structure our elections
I like how civil the conversation is going so far. Don’t agree with a fair bit of these ideas, but at least folks are able to express themselves and not get cut off. Looking forward to more people having the opportunity to share their thoughts and opinions civilly and participate in healthy debate.
This was wonderful to watch. As a conservative I was very impressed by these young conservatives on the panel who spoke so well for our side. And I was impressed by the liberals on the panel as well who did not interrupt attack or argue. Everyone was very respectful of others opinions. Well done
I am always so confused by the single mother argument. People always act like if a woman is a single mother that the kids don't have fathers at all. What an absolutely dishonest position.
Considering our society will continue towards progress which includes equality for all, your exclusionary rhetoric will be shamed and you’ll be outed. So please continue to speak foul things so we all know who to not socialize with. :) Free speech is an inherent value in America, and so are the consequences of it.
You know what's amazing about this video, it shows how close to the center people are. It shows that we are all more similar then the media likes us to believe, Good conversation between reasonable people.
Watching this kind of thing from Taiwan, where I've lived for many years (though I'm American), it always feels like the most important aspect of this election is misunderstood widely back home: Trump has repeatedly indicated that he is open to ceding the defense of Taiwan and by implication our Asian treaty allies, which would likely unravel the rest of our allegiances and, in the end, the sustainability of our economic system. I really don't blame anyone back in the US for not having this on the forefront of their minds, but it is more important than everything they are talking about.
Americans fall for Trump no matter what he says. But if people attack him... Why do you have TDS? On that specifically, Trump has been clear that he doesn't care about allies. He feels attacked by them while he also defends dictators that talk to him softly and compliment him. He is easily manipulated. I couldnt ask for a better president... if I was Russia or China. Really making sure we get ahead of the US. The division he causes is also a bonus.
YES! I honestly can't even get through 5 minutes of any of Jubilee's political videos. Especially the 25 vs. 1 videos... Yikes. This was super refreshing to watch.
57 year old woman here. I’m a conservative liberal/liberal conservative so you know where I stand. This was a very interesting video! I have friends of both political leanings. I can debate with the republicans. I have to watch what I say with the democrats. This is my experience. To the woman on the fence with the death penalty, yay you for talking about it 💪🏻! I understand your feelings. To the woman who hates being forced to be a professional success, I understand your feelings! I’m that 1st generation of you have to be a success and an outstanding wife and mother. I eventually chose poverty to be at home with my children. While still needing to supply my portion of the household income I gave up. My point, as you stated, I had no choice. Not a struggle I recommend. Bless you all for being so brave!! I hope the rest of the comments are as kind.
It would be so coo to check in with these people after about ten years of life experience. Particularly the woman who claims to be strapped into corporate life by an overly-individualistic society. I’m married with two kids and rely on my husband’s income to feed our family; we homestead and all. I can’t imagine and don’t wish to impose this structure across the board-I can assure her it’s slightly harder than being a single woman with a full-time job and benefits. I’m only able to watch a video like this and post (my first ever) RUclips comments because my husband is on a lunch break. She is clearly fresh off a difficult few years and seems especially defensive. I’d be curious to speak with her. She invokes the ‘50s, a time when there were fewer people in the country competing over more resources whose immediate and extended families lived nearby to help raise kids. My grandmother, Catholic, had ten children and struggled greatly, even with the help of her family. Today, you’ll need more than just robot compassion to turn on and off in order to foster relationships with your neighbors who you will rely on to help you and who will most likely mention the word abortion at some point, possibly not in the connotation she prefers. Anyway. Good luck to her. As far as the policy talk goes…there’s a new movement across the country’s institutions and businesses that are leaving DEI policies behind due to utter lack of return, maintaining or implementing only the ones that show improvement in positive outcomes ie in consumer base and workplace culture. These Republicans sound like much of the right wing internet that has come to rely on “woke” outrage to fuel their fire. Most of the country is ready to move forward. The majority of the founding fathers (versus signers) were in fact not religious and cite the use of the word God with the most calculated intention, certainly not with the idea to impose a universal demagoguery. Religious freedom etc. Where’s our libertarian?
the lack of indigenous education in america is sickening to be honest. in canada we learn about residential schools in elementary. when i speak to americans and they are unaware of north american genocidal history involving indigenous peoples it is extremely rare they know what im talking about. they have all been fed lies that the europeans and indigenous came together.... ick
Michigan resident here. I had some conservative professors, at....Hillsdale. We would mostly study with fellow conservatives or libertarians but go to Ann Arbor on the weekends to party with liberals.
Did the conservative people on the panel really just deflect from indigeneous suffering to talk about Aztecs sacrificing the children? Like that justifies anything?
I enjoyed all of this series. This group was honestly the most respectful, best behaved of all of them. 2nd place is the Jewish group from Pennsylvania. Keep up the good work.
Way better than those Jubilee debates. People actually have conversations here instead of just yelling at each other as fast as possible.
And they always bring on the same debate bros streamers over and over again.
Yeah and mostly with political platform.
I was looking for this comment 😂😂❤❤
Jubilee is trash. As soon as a good point is being made, the flags go up.
This is what Jubilee used to be.
Would be awesome to bring this group back in 5-7 years to see how their views have changed. Personally my views have changed a lot at different stages of life. This is a great video.
Totally. OMG yes.
@@Trail_Cairnlove this comment!

Jubilee is left leaning platform with an agenda.
Bruh this is literally a gen Z debate. 😂
And you can’t blame democrats for the fact you don’t have a husband or kids yet
ofc when all dems talking point about women is feminism which is an anti-thesis of a nuclear family.
The say women are better off and happier now than in the 50s is actually WILD and baseless.
There is no data from the 50s and 60s, but from the 70s until today the decline in women's happiness is considered pretty well established.

I really like when she said “Are you still patriotic even after all of that”
Agreed! Very aware, introspective, and intelligent, can’t say the same about the two loudest on the panel.
looked like she would disagree with almost anything just to go against them
She made no solid counter arguments.
Why? Cuz she really, REALLY lives 'aborting' babies?
Her dad and brother are conservatives! Everyone needs a strong Dad!

😂 My thoughts exactly, insufferable
It's 2024 Women choose.
Who the hell would marry someone this angry 😂
Guys don’t want to marry her because she is more masculine than them.
Very well articulated. For a country that promotes freedom, their freedom is so restrictive.
@@adityabhide6300republicans are a joke
No you don’t

I saw the title, then I saw the thumbnail. First reaction was "White people talk about race, gender, and politics."
The Blazer woman is so pissed. She just wants to be a trad wife but she's too pissed 😭

A family with grandparents and a mother/father raising kids are just as successful as other "nuclear families." Gen Z liberal here.
The best conversation I've heard! Great job!
I absolutely love this channel. Balanced, civil, interesting, intelligent and thought provoking. So f’ing retro!

GEN Z doesn't go out and socialize like we did. Social interaction, offline, is dying because of social media.
Stella!!! I’m so proud of you for stepping out of your comfort zone to talk about important issues :)))
I really enjoyed this. Thank you so much for keeping cool heads and being respectful to each other. We need more of that these days.
When the lady in the houndstooth coat spoke she made me feel so stressed and anxious
Right? And then when she said she worked for Turning Point USA for two years, I was like “Oh that’s why”

Every single one of them is so privileged they truly believe they live in a country where all of their fears actually exist
The one whose uncle died in 9/11 has lived. That was sad. His fears are legitimate and I understand why he was so passionate about Israel - to protect America from this radical Islamist jihadism

I agree with you, however, I also hear kids who haven't experienced the reality of life, and are depending on what their family support systems. As they get some real experience, views tend to change for better or worse.
Young people get information much faster thru technology. But that can backfire as bad information is easily spread.

FP > Jubilee debates. This is the mirror image to the atrocious, shallow Jubilee videos.
Love the civil conversations, even while having profound disagreements.
Jubilee doesn't have debates. They have struggle sessions.
Agreed. It really shows you that the organization and the hosts create the environment. The FP and the host do a good job of maintaining a sense of professionalism and niceness that Jubilee doesn't always do.

I will never understand why anyone not running for office would claim to be a member of a political party.
@@Bertinator-nm9ld Yes I would be all for rank choice voting instead of first past the post

Praying for Taiwan. I wish we had Nikki Hayley for president
I have to say this is better than whatever jubilee does

Where’s our libertarian?
the lack of indigenous education in america is sickening to be honest. in canada we learn about residential schools in elementary. when i speak to americans and they are unaware of north american genocidal history involving indigenous peoples it is extremely rare they know what im talking about. they have all been fed lies that the europeans and indigenous came together.... ick
