  • ( tfltruck.com ) Just how solid is the 2022 Nissan Frontier against its chief rival - the Toyota Tacoma? Now that we've gotten a new model for the first time in nearly two decades, is it a good enough alternative to pull hordes of buyers away from the dominant midsize truck? Roman and Andre take a closer look in this head-to-head comparison.

    I love Andre`s enthusiasm on truck, but I absolutely hate how Roman constantly interrupts every 5 seconds. Andre loves trucks, I recall him loving the Gen 1 & 2 Nissan Frontier, and I'm genuinely excited to get his opinion on the new Frontier. Please stop interrupting him, it's rude and distracting. I want to watch and listen to Andre when he's on the video.
    New Nissan looks nice. But I'll wait until I see a performance review. I hope Andre will be the one to do that video

    Nissan needs to get its sticker pricing in order. My 21 Titan Pro-4x sticker was $55k, but I paid $45k. With the constant incentives, Nissan would sell a boat load more trucks if the sticker said $48k and the incentives were $3-5k. As it stands, people compare the Nissan sticker to the big 3 and don't see the value.

    • @dave3682
      @dave3682 3 года назад +7

      That's the big issue. People compare the sticker price and that's it, they don't look at what you're actually getting for the money. The Nissan Titan, for example, gives you for $40k what the other guys give you for $50k by the time you've added all the features that the Titan comes standard with that the other guys make you pay for... like a v8 engine, push-button start, a dampened tailgate, sliding rear window, cruise control, power locks and windows, led bed lights, fender liners, soft-touch door armrests, and the most standard safety features in the class.

    • @lukman8400

    I dig it. I have a last gen Frontier that has been bulletproof (I only mention because Toyota people act like Toyota is the only one who can make a reliable vehicle). Looking forward to seeing the updated Tacoma in a couple years (assuming another 10 year generation), but this Frontier will probably be my next truck. Just giving the new powertrain another year to see if any issues pop up as the 2020's start to get higher mileage.

      @@ConsoleCombat, depends on where you live and winter road treatments, also personal drive territory and habits. Check the years under the inspection recall. My sons 2015 was inspected and treated. Some were given a full frame replacement. You should have yours inspected.

      Would this be the same frame rust issue Toyota has so far spent 3.6 billion on making things right ? Spending approx $10,000 a truck to replace ? I think that's a bold statement that Toyota is stepping up to do the right thing. I just bought a new Tacoma 2 weeks ago, and feel 100% that Toyota has got my back.
      2014-2019 Silverados are puking transmissions left and right and GM doesn't care.
      2007-2019 Silverados are chewing up lifters and camshafts with their APM garbage. GM doesn't care.
      RAM's Hemi has the "tick of death" for years, they don't care. Still an issue today.
      Ford's AWD systems burn up the PTU. Does Ford care ? Nope. They Implemented a cooling tube and it still burns them up.
      GM, Ford and RAM didn't get the memo about direct injection giving your intake cholesterol. Toyota figured this out years ago, dual injection. Ford finally copied it with their new version of EcoBoost which was a smart thing to do. Crushed walnut intake cleanings...are you serious ?
      Just Sayin!

      Matt9c1. So I can agree with some of what you're saying. But, what does this have to do with the comparison between Nissan and Toyota? Need to compare apples to apples. Not a fan of Nissan myself but, not a direct comparison what you brought up.
