    This video taught me and now I supplement my exercise with 15-25 minutes of hooping with only one or two restarts. It did take me 3-4 weeks of consistent daily practice. If I try to make it go clockwise, I am back to square one!! Failed at hooping at age 7 (no RUclips lessons) --- Succeeded at 70! Thank you Bee!!

    I haven't hula hooped since I was kid. It seemed so innate to me then, but in my twenties, my hoop kept falling. This video is the first one that came up when i searched 'why does my hula hoop keep falling?' 10/10 very helpful! ⭐

      You're so kind! thank you so much! Keep trying, Gorgeous! If first it doesn't work, maybe we just need to try with a different hoop. Hoops matter - the size and weight especially... but even if it is a naked or a taped hoop: because naked hoops slide easily... and hoops with tapes on are a bit easier because of the grip. Never give up, you've got all it takes! Well done for researching it & trying your best 💗 have lots of fun 💋

      Well done for giving it your best try 👏 it shall just keep getting easier. You will wiggle about focusing on your hoop and trying to keep it up and in the process you liberate joints, give them fresh circulation which rewards you with the breaking down of tension and increased mobility. Your body will just create these new neuro-pathways which will make you hoop like you've been doing this all your life. What feels like a workout today soon will only be your warmup ❤️🔥😚

Most of the hoop moves and tricks we can never do first time we try... but if we try and try again and willing to practice: we can get ready for huge rewards, massive sense of achievement 👏
      As long as you keep trying:
      🌟 you will be getting fitter with every try!
      🌟 your body understands it more and more: your coordination improves with each attempt!
      🌟 you are breaking down tension, adhesions & old movement patterns which essentially improves your mobility and makes your hooping soon look easy and effortless 💪

      Well done!!!! A shiny new chapter for you full of fitness and excitement 🧡🧡🧡
      About the angle: it's normal for beginners! We almost all start off like that! The reason is expanded in probably too much detail here ruclips.net/video/ZchN31OWygM/видео.html
      Basically it's super normal to come into hooping with imbalances and dominant and weaked sides... if you need your postural muscles to get stronger & your anterior musculature is dominant from a lifestyle full of flexion you may lean forward naturally and that you almost unconsciously untrain while hooping. It will make more sense in that video I pasted the link for. May feel long and too much info but it will answer a lot of questions, even the ones you have not even though about 🤣 in short: the more you hoop, the less alien it will feel, the more your body will be able to relax, the more your anterior musculature breaks down adhesions and the stronger your postural muscles will become. You will find that your hoop gets straight almost just because you keep picking it up. It's a balancing tool to even out imbalances in the body. It will happen that one day you will not even remember that it had a funny tilt... it will just be effortless, graceful, neat and just joy 🧡🧡🧡 enjoy 🧡🧡🧡🧡

    Your a star, I have tried hooping for a few months on and off. I struggle so bad keeping it up. I have a weighted one which is fine but very heavy so it's tiring trying to keep it up and I bruise easy. I then got a 36"polypro but it's too light and I can't keep it up at all.
    I'm determined to get there, im 45 and want to get fitter

    • @BeeVargaTheHulahooper
      @BeeVargaTheHulahooper  Год назад +2

      A weighted one bruises us all, so never stress, if you got bruised because you were using a weighted hoop: that's normal, we would all look battered with one of those.
      Polypro is definitely super light, I never use those, it is popular because it's fast and hoopers love looking fast and furious and advanced 🤣
      I'm happy with slower but not too light: hdpe hoops. They give a firm massage for my skin tone and muscle tone to make me look fit but they are not too heavy to leave me all bruised up. The speed for me is great, too, it is not as fast as a Polypro so I have time to chisel moves and make them look complete and finished.
      45 years young is perfect time to start hooping. I think that is the age we appreciate real fitness and awareness and connection with our own body. When younger, I think we take most things for granted and we have no idea about anything...🤣 you have a shiny new exciting, fun and creative chapter ahead of you to unfold and make amazing discoveries about your body and mind. Enjoy every second, gorgeous, it is going to get easier and better with every single revolution 💖😚💋

    You give really good practical points on how to keep the hoop up. I am getting quite discouraged but feel better after listening to your advice. One curious question, does hoopla hooping trim the waist down or will it actually make the waist bigger? My logic is when we keep exercising a muscle it grows larger and firmer. What is your experience? 💕

    • @BeeVargaTheHulahooper
      @BeeVargaTheHulahooper  4 года назад +6

      This question deserves a whole video to be honest. You are super smart you know! Most people think if they do lots of crunches or sit ups or hulahoop with a 2.5kg!!! Hula hoop then they have a lean trim toned waist but in reality they are building bulk! but if your hoop is a dance hoop like mine, then it trims it down because there's no flexion or crazy resistance but a gentle sustained contraction as well as a massage. So well done, unlike most, you do understand that the more we train an area the bulkier it gets but because we are not causing shortening ( e.g. like during flexion, like a sit up ) and not adding resistance this way we are not adding bulk. I used to compete in fitness so I know what it takes to build muscle and although muscle is great but when we aim for an hourglass shape we don't want a wide solid midsection. So if you want your waist trim, feel free to hula hoop just don't use a super heavy hoop, keep it under 1kg ♥️

    • @Dandelion_flight
      @Dandelion_flight 4 года назад +3

      Bee Varga The Hulahooper Thank you ☺️😆. The first hoop that arrived two weeks ago is a heavy weighted one and I just couldn’t keep it up. So I ordered a light one similar to yours. It arrived today and I still can’t keep it up 😫 Looks like i am safer to use the the lighter one. Thank you so much for helping me with this question ☺️💕

    • @BeeVargaTheHulahooper
      @BeeVargaTheHulahooper  4 года назад +4

      There's no harm if you maybe play with the heavy one for a week or 2 because that will get your body used to the movement you need to do to keep the smaller one up. I am sure if you use the heavy one for a few days you do not get bulky but you will then be good at spinning the lighter one. A few days won't get you bulky but if you use it for months it is not great. Maybe give it to your husband or brother or dad 😉

    I recently purchased a weighted hula hoop and it gives quite the workout in ten minutes. I struggled to go in the opposite direction. But in time it got a little easier. I find keeping it level so it doesn't till the slight struggle and keeping the momentum so it doesn't tilt and bother the hip bone. So I try and move faster to keep it level. I wonder if I should've started with a regular hoop then progressed to a weighted one?

    • @BeeVargaTheHulahooper
      @BeeVargaTheHulahooper  8 месяцев назад +1

      Great job! Well done for getting started! 🏆🫶
      You have great observations about momentum and how that impacts the movement of the hoop! 🤓👌🏻
      A progression is not a weighted hoop though, a progression is a lighter hoop. Many think the heavier the harder the workout but it is the opposite with hoops. You'll see if you have a chance to try one day.
      So when we get fitter and our coordination improves: we normally progress to smaller & lighter hoops gradually.
      The weighted hoop will bother not just on your hips but eventually it will bother more body parts especially if you use it for a prolonged period of time. The pace of movement definitely makes a difference though - so if your hoop has a wonky angle: pushing harder & faster can help. + Slight discrepancies in our bodies are normal - we all have them because we repeatedly do lots of one sided actions in life --- your hoop will spin wonky for that reason. So if you have a dominant side and picked up some compensation issues: your hoop will tilt initially. As you wiggle and contort your body you will repeatedly activate and elongate muscles and break down tension & balance yourself out. It may take more than a 10 minute workout - but in a few weeks you will see that the tilt is less present, it just gradually disappears. Your muscle imbalances will take a tiny bit of time but they will get sorted as you keep exploring moves with your hoop.
      💡
      The weighted hoop is an excellent way to get started for those who cannot keep it up and struggle to get started. Once the hoop stays up, it is best to move on to a less heavy hoop. I show progressions and explain this in another video in detail, this may help ruclips.net/video/WT0-lkzDUgo/видео.html

      @@BeeVargaTheHulahooper thanks for getting back to me on this and appreciate your feedback. I ended up sending the weighted one back. But now will try and find just a regular one. As using the weighted one, it wasn't as fun when you feel it hit certain areas and like I said the hip bone. So will look for just an everyday one but not cheap. Because in the end, you get what you paid for.

      @@toner37 I tell you what: my plastic hoops are made of irrigation tubing ( 25mm thick HDPE regular irrigation tubing from a builders supermarket) . You just need to cut it to the right size that makes you happy - mine are 32" ( inside diameter ) but I started off with a lot bigger to start learning moves... and then it just needs a joiner so you connect the 2 ends. After that you cover with grip tape. That is it! If you want to make it yourself. OR you may find a cheap supplier, it does not have to be expensive - lots of people make hoops - you can find them on Etsy, eBay... The tape is important though: I would choose something called 'gaffer' or 'grip' tape. That will help with learning moves because the hoop won't slide hopelessly everywhere with a good grip tape. Easy 💗 you're going to have so much fun and you'll make it look easy 💪 happy hooping, darling 💋

    • @BeeVargaTheHulahooper
      @BeeVargaTheHulahooper  8 месяцев назад

      @@toner37 not sure if I am correct but they do have a counter ( some of them look like they do! ) so it is smart because it counts how many times the ball spins around.... that is all the smartness I think. A regular hoop won't count anything 🤣 I don't either 🤣
      I do not have and never tried these smart hoops. I am old... and been training for many years full time working with other people who also train and came across lots of examples of what certain workouts do to a body over the years... this is why if there is any workout where you do not have much variety and keep doing the same over and over again: it is a 'no-no' in my eyes.
      Of course young super humans who feel like they are indestructible and can do whatever they like: they can do all they want. But there comes an age when we realise we are mortals and we get aches and pains and we look back at what we've been doing with regret... because things start to hurt after a while. I see the smart hoop being trendy and even the people who used to hoop with a normal hoop are now sharing smart hoop videos on RUclips. Because they jump on a trend and that is how those creators can make money: people click on the smart hoop videos and people click on the smart hoop affiliate links because that is what people want: smart hoops... because those are easy and don't fall down. But those hoops you can only use around your waist and only can do 1 type of movement with them. Repeatedly.
      That is how repetitive strain injuries are born.
      Look at runners with runner's knee or tennis elbow for those doing repetitive moves overusing just 1 part of the body repeating the same moves over and over again and then they blame the Universe and their parents for the wrong genetics.... it is not the Universe... it is human nature. We do not think about consequences but jump on trends and choose easy and simple...
      So I do not have a smart hoop, never used one and although I had lots of offers from manufacturers who offered to pay for me to advertise those things: I am a dinosaur and I say no to that.
      I let the young superhumans play with those, they would not listen to me anyway and they cannot feel any pain yet. Of course everyone can try, we learn by trying. I encourage my own daughter, too - to not listen to what others are saying but research, test & think & then decide. So do not take my word for it: you can try and see and you'll tell about all your experiences.
      For me as a working single mum it is important that I work hard during my workouts because I do not have all day... so if I only have a few minutes a day for myself, I want that to help me look & feel fit. A smart hoop is so little effort that it only would earn me a checkmark ✅ in an app so I feel good that I'd done my workout that day... I don't care about check marks. I want to feel and look OK. We all have different preferences and goals though! not everyone has same goals as me and for them the smart hoop is probably perfect. Many people do not like getting sweaty or achy from exercise. Some love exactly that! So do not listen to me: research, think, experience, decide for yourself 💗 so much fun to try and discover and learn, enjoy it all 💋

      Hi, when I started hooping I started with a hoop exactly like the one in the link. But I have been hooping for 14 years now so over the years I got fitter and now I use a smaller hoop and that is what I am using in the video. But if you are a beginner: I don't recommend a smaller one because it may not stay up. It is better to start with a bigger one like in the link - same like I started with first. It will keep you entertained for years ❤ and it will stay up ❤

      I recommend for beginners to have a hoop weighing around 650gr but different sizes and fitness levels need different. There is a video of mine explaining this even with recommendation for different dress sizes, I hope it answers all questions you may have ♥️♥️♥️ ruclips.net/video/PVSQQwhnn2M/видео.html

    There's no right or wrong in hula hooping, yet apparently I'm doing it wrong by not keeping my hula hoop going. I can't even get it going in the first place so I guess I'm not a champ. But I'm not giving up! I'm gonna get it! The way I see it is if I was able to do it as a kid, I'll be able to do it as an adult too.

      familiar with this quote? Stephen McCranie - 'The master has failed more times than the beginner has even tried.'
      I failed more than anyone at hooping tricks of all kinds. At the start I failed trillions of times just keeping it up at all around my waist... but just kept trying anyway... You'll get it!

    How much does the loop play a part? Like if it’s on the smaller side and light how much would it hinder the hooping

    • @BeeVargaTheHulahooper
      @BeeVargaTheHulahooper  11 месяцев назад

      Great question! 🤔 The size and weight of the hoop can definitely play a role in your hooping experience. Generally, larger and slightly heavier hoops can be easier to control, especially if you're a beginner. However, smaller and lighter hoops can challenge your skills and add some flair to your routine once you've got the basics down. It might take a bit of practice to master, but don't be discouraged - every step in your hooping journey is a step toward progress. Keep experimenting, stay patient, and most importantly, have fun while you hoop away! 🕺💫

      Hello Leila, sometimes we need to just keep trying. Obviously I have no clue what you are doing because I cannot see but if you keep trying with the tips i've given here, you may find if you keep going you manage to keep it up. Often we do not have a good connection with this area and cannot sense enough but where attention goes energy flows... so the more time you spend trying and focusing here, the more energy and changes take place and you make your body develop better awareness so it helps you keep it up eventually.
      Just need to believe in yourself ❤️

      If you measure your hoop and weigh it and let me know approximately what your size is like roughly, then I may be able to determine if that is a good hoop for you. Often the problem is that although people can see me in the video but I cannot see any of them... so I have no clue what they are doing and what they should try differently because I cannot see anybody. I do believe though that you may need a bigger hoop. Usually that is the case.
