POSTED APRIL 2024. Love this tutorial, thank you! I bought a K-Mart smart weighted hoop from Amazon for £25 but there are cheaper options which would probably do just as well. The first day I tried it I almost gave up but as soon as you get the rhythm, you're good to go! Here are some tips that may be helpful for beginners:- 1. Stand with your feet wider than your shoulders and move side to side like Clare does. You need to move fairly fast to keep the weight swinging. If I slow down the movements, the weight starts to slow down too and I lose momentum. I now crouch slightly and do lower crouches during my workout which is great for my leg muscles. I can't say I feel anything in my tummy while hooping but I'm going to start tensing the muscles to see how that goes. This is a great low impact exercise that people of any size can do. I don't find myself getting out of breath at all. 2. I tried using a layer or two of clothing but still got a few bruises, found it slightly uncomfortable and a bit sweaty. Instead, I added another link or two and loosely folded a large thin towel around my waist which is more comfortable and wear a comfort bra and shorts. 3. Wear comfortable trainers and keep your feet flat on the floor. The first day I was hopping away on the balls of my feet, trying to keep the hoop going round and worked up a right sweat but thankfully I got the hang of it much easier than I thought I would. Stay with it and keep trying. 4. I use earbuds while binge watching tv shows or movies because I'd get bored easily otherwise. Using earbuds drowns out the noise that the weight makes (it's loud!) and I'm not distracted by any other noises in the home. There are workouts on RUclips but I don't move the same and found myself zoning out and losing rhythm but they might work for some and I might go back to them another time. 5. Start with 15 mins at a time and before you know it, you'll be hooping for an hour every day. I find that an hour is a good enough workout. I start to sweat at around the 45 min mark. At around the hour mark, the counter says I've burned 500 calories or so. Not sure if that's the case but it's the target I've chosen to keep me focused.
@@debrag8787I know this is 3 mos later but I just got mine and I had trouble too; I do this sort or "hop" from side to side and it keeps it going really well. 😊
My neighbor annoys me soooo much they are super loud omg!! I think this would be fun all around!! Get in shape by swaying , rocking and dancing around laugh and have a good time as well as annoy those neighbors with the loudness of it 😂❤
I've just got my hoop. The second one as the first had missing bits lol. This is the best video. I've watched others, couldn't keep it going more than 3-4 rotations. This video has me doing around 1.5 minutes at a time before it stops or rather I stopped lol. My first day I deem a success. Thanks. Onwards and upwards.
Got mine yesterday been practising, though I'm not sure how long the rope length should be watching this video really helped, struggling to keep the ball going round so lots of tips to help thank you
Thanks for the video. I just got my weighted smart hoop for Mother's Day and I like it so far. Might have to tighten it, shorten the length on the weight and move it up a bit though. It definitely didn't make me break a sweat.
I am so glad to see this video as I've struggled to keep the weight spinning, and I know it's best to wear tight clothes than lose as it doesn't work properly, and seeing that you need to do the rocking motion than roll the hips, i can see where I went wrong and will be trying this again. You look like a pro so thank you very much for this video. It all helps❤
I’ve just started and am having problems keeping the weight going. It seems to jump instead of going round smoothly. Any advice as to what I’m doing wrong ?
My instructions for removing sections was very clear. Thank goodness. I did add some silicone grease around the rim to aidthe weight flowing with less friction noise. Having had a right hip replacement 6 months ago I initially felt discomfort in my right thigh. So I am building up the time more slowly. I do three sets of 10 minutes. I am looking forward to increasing that over time as I rebuild strength in my right thigh and hip.
Thank you so much I have health issues that prevent me from exercising so to have something low impact and still gets heart rate up is great. The tip of taking out the links and making it tight really helped thank you
@suesue dedication is a big part of doing any kind of exercise, you have to stick with it no matter how tired or how much you don't want to do it and sometimes that can be tough. I lost a total of 40 lbs in 3.5 months doing this every day and adding the bands and also walking around the walkway at the park or around the neighborhood with ankle weights. When I first started It was hard for me to keep it up because you'll get sore but you just have to push thru. You can do it just keep your head up and eyes on the prize! You got this!🥰🥰
Started today did 15min though would lile to go for longer. Did you record your weight before starting and have you since? Or have you measured your waist etc? Or have you removed links yet? Hearing your input on this wouod help me keep doing it, though there are alot of people saying it does work? 😊 you look great x
Hey!! I JUST got mine yesterday... Because TODAY is my birthday... I'm 55... And I've been wanting 1 of these for awhile and so my daughter bought one for me!! I put it together and tried it out last night...and it was hard!! But I know it's all about placement of hoop and rhythm!! Thanks for your encouragement!! I'm going to watch your other videos now. Take Care!! ✌🏼💞🫂
If anyone wants a good song to get into the rhythm I recommend the old mortal combat theme. It’s has a base beat that matches these movements and honestly just very motivational lol
I just had to come back and comment again. After viewing your video I immediately got the diggity dang thing round at least for a good sweat. i thank you for this vid it helped. i am now excited to go further. WELL WISHES TO ALL WHO HAVE STARTED THEIR HOOP JOURNEY.
Clare I’ve just purchased a hoop how wud u say I shud start as I have asthma and copd can only do a min but I’ve got a big belly and thunder thighs how do I pm u
Thank you thank you thank you I am on day five and your video is amazing and is so going to help me I had it all the way down on my belly button and it was getting kind of hard ❤️❤️❤️
how heavy should the ball be? I got mine on "sale" off tic toc LOL. Lets just say it didn't have instructions NOR a link with clips.... So I am winging it but think my weight may be too light.
Will it be as effective if you wear it lower on the hips? I carry most of my weight in my lower stomach stretched from pregnancy and it hangs, so what I'm asking is would wearing it lower help that orrrr....no? I know it's a very hard area to tackle, not a lot of exercises that are specific to that area. I'm heavy all over but that spot is the worst!! Makes me super self conscious 😔
There is no wrong or right way to hoop, we all do it differently find what works best for you. I prefer mine snug on my waist as feel it in my core more, but any movement of the body all helps
You are the only one that helped me figure this out!! With love from California!!
Glad I could help!
6:50 l am confused with the weight and the extra rope. Can you help me please. Thanks in advance 😃@@wellnessvibewithclare8336

Do you find you weight loss to specifically be in the core area?
Yes I’ve lost weight on my legs and waist and stomach it took about 2 months to see a difference but so glad I stuck at it 😊
You’re amazing if you can do it both ways😂 I got one side down the other seems impossible 🤣🤣
Thanks for the tips
This helped me greatly. Thank you!!!
I don't know if I could handle that noise for 20 to 30 minutes. You're doing a great job though and it looks like an awesome workout!
Anything that moves that body is fab 👌 we do have a more quieter one smarthulahoops.co.uk?sca_ref=3315953.uGiCwH99Fd

How heavy is the ball?
how heavy should the ball be? I got mine on "sale" off tic toc LOL. Lets just say it didn't have instructions NOR a link with clips.... So I am winging it but think my weight may be too light.
I got mine to work by having my feet like im about to do double dutch, in that stance
Putting headphones on with good music or an audio book may help with the noise.
Can you split 30 mins into 2 15 mins sessions
Yes, feel free to start at point that works best for you. Even 2 minutes and 3 minutes the a rest. Adjustments come. The goal is to keep using it!
Many thanks for the tips and tricks I’ll bare this in mind 😊😊😊
How long do u do it for each day
