- Here's a review of an original NEO GEO MVS Windjammers cartridge on original NEO GEO MVS hardware with 25" CRT. This game was made by Data East in 1994 and released for the NEO GEO MVS and AES systems. It's also available on the Switch and Windjammers 2 will be coming out in 2019 for the PC and Switch.

Windjammers (also known as Flying Power Disc in Japan) is a fast-paced sports arcade game released by Data East on the Neo Geo arcade system in 1994 and later on the Wii Virtual Console in Japan on June 22, 2010. Following the bankruptcy of Data East, the intellectual rights for this game were acquired by Paon DP, a mobile company formed by some ex-Data East employees.[2][3] It was delisted from the Virtual Console on December 24, 2013, making it the only delisted Neo-Geo game for the Virtual Console. A port of the game with online multiplayer support was released by DotEmu for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita on August 29, 2017, with a Nintendo Switch version planned for release on October 23, 2018.[4][5] A sequel, Windjammers 2, is planned for release on Nintendo Switch and PC in 2019.[6]

Windjammers is one of my favourite games ever. A few things: You can influence (with the stick) if you throw the frisbee in an ark. When in defense you can deflect the frisbee with the A Button (and joystick in neutral position), when deflected the frisbee goes up in the air, you have to get on the landing crosshair and if you there long enough you load for your super move. If you catch the frisbee, the sooner you hit the A button the faster you will throw the frisbee back. Yes the 3/5 points spots on the goals differ on each field. A round is over when: A: the time runs out or B: the player who has 12 points (or more) wins the round (no matter how many time is left). You play best of 3 => the first who wins 2 rounds is the winner. If there is a draw every player gets a point. On the beach bonus round you control the dog & you are supposed to catch the frisbee :). There is a bowling bonus round also. In the end this is just a version of Pong but it's the best one in every way possible.

In tournaments, we change the time to 99 seconds. It makes the game a lot more fun, I think.
NEO GEO games are really good
That Windjammer game looks like a lot of fun; I have a Switch and I might get it. It's awesome that you have the original Tapper game with the Budweiser logo.

Windjammers one of my favorite neogeo game. Simple concept, great execution and a lot of fun. Curious to see the Windjammers 2 next year.
It is basically PONG on supercharged steroids. Simple but great fun.

Windjammers is an amazingly fun game even if it is just 90's style Pong and one of very few games I actually was able to play in a bowling alley arcade along with two of my other all time fav Neo-Geo games Bust-a-move/Puzzle Bobble and KOF95. Very looking forward to Windjammers 2 since I saw the launch vid for it.

I owned the original cart for a couple of years and I'm pretty sure the heavey hitters have more chance of knocking their apponent over, but the light hitters have a higher chance of using their special move. The medium hitters have an equal chance of both :)

The spray is 5% vs the D100L which is 100% deoxit. I use the D100 on cartridges.

17:03 Saving it to the card let's you start back at the round you last played (you saved at round 2, you will load back at round 2).
19:03 I also highly recommend the memory card for AES owners; most games you only have 4 credits to beat the game, but with the memory card it turns into 4 credits per level. So it's expotentially harder without the memory card, and expotentially easier with it.
I gotta pick this game up, not for the MVS, I don't have a MVS or converter, the AES version is too expensive, so I'm gonna get the Neo Geo CD version.

It broke.
You should be able to get rid of the yellowing on the card with some peroxide. Paint it on the plastic side only! not the back side, cover in cling film and put it out in the midday sun for an hour wipe it off should get rid of the yellow.
Horrible advice, cling film will make it have a marble look.
John, maybe it would have been worth a few mins to Google the PS4/Switch Windjammers game that's been out for a year to avoid having a thousand corrections over what you said lol
