- Developed by Leikir Studio, Metal Slug Tactics, a grid-based tactical adaptation of the iconic run-and-gun METAL SLUG series, is bringing the fight to Nintendo Switch during Nintendo’s Indie World Showcase presentation. News of Metal Slug Tactics’ Switch deployment follows the game’s previously confirmed arrival on PC via Steam, with both tours beginning in 2022.
Paired with gorgeous pixel art and fluid animation which faithfully channels the series’ timeless aesthetic, this new footage of frontline powerhouses Marco, Eri, Fio, and Tarma rolling out to battle from a headquarters packed with nods to the long-running series’ history. The team returns with their signature arsenal - including the reliable heavy machine gun and devastating SVX-15D Slugnoid mech - as they face down fresh tactical fights.

I love the tiny details, like the Terry poster, the Neo Geo arcade machine, and even a KoF 98 billboard. This isn’t just a love letter, this is taking the Neo Geo out on a date and tucking them into bed

Fun fact, some of the King of Fighters characters actually are playable characters in the Metal Slug games.
I really wished there was a Neo/Super Neo 29 machine there, those were the original Japanese machines and are much nicer than the cheap woodies elsewhere.
This game is so gorgeous and looks like so much fun - I'm gonna preorder on both Steam and Switch. I cannot believe how much it nails the pixel art style, the '80s/'90s anime aesthetic, and engaging Tactics combat. Who knew a Metal Slug game would be my most anticipated game here in 2021? Absolutely fantastic

I love their room with the arcade machines, the Terry friggin Bogard poster, the Mars People plushie, the Neo Geo, the Power ups, and everything that represents the characters' personality and interests.
Edit: I like when the player chose Marco, his computer screen goes into Blue Screen of Death and it's the Windows 10 version with the :( and everything!

I'm really glad they're using the Big snake boss from MS2, you don't get to see most of the design in the original game, I didn't even know it was supposed to be a snake till I saw the concept art.

I like how even if it's not the Same gameplay as the original metal slug games, it still feels like metal slug in a great way! Unlike metal slug awakening, works like metal slug but worst, and don't get me on the 3d on it, MST is a grantee buy for MS fans
It feels like the original sprite games, due to the exaggerated and expressive sprite animations... That has always been one of the selling point of Metal Slug, cartoon-ish ( older cartoons that is ) physics...
I need this game to have multiplayer pvp with randomly generated maps. : 'D

This isn't a GBA style. It's the classic arcade Metal Slug aesthetic, just as gorgeous as it was in the 90s.
