dude, I'm 46 years old, been listening to VGO for 5 yrs. at least. Love love love the podcast but I have recently just discovered your John's Arcade channel after listening to VGO for so long and I gotta tell you how important your channel has become to me! Happy New Year back to you, but most of all THANK YOU for all of the great podcast content, RUclips content, and musical content that you put out bro! I don't know how to say this without sounding weird but I love everything that you share with us man and I'm so thankful that you're putting in the time and effort to do it! So thank you again and I hope you have the best year you've had to date brother!
Very cool year end video! I enjoyed it. I know how the projects can get out of hand and regular day to day tend to hold them up. Looking forward to the new year and your videos. Thanks for the plug! Looking forward to you putting on my art on the TMNT.
I swear... for a second, I could smell that popcorn when it started popping out of cooker... the awesome power of suggestion!! As always, great episode John! Happy New Year!
"OMG Ron Phillips again!" Sounded like you discovered the fanmail end boss, and he kept regenerating after you thought you beat him :-) Awesome part 2!
Cheers man. Your channel has become one of my favorites over the past couple years. Very nostalgic and interesting. Keep up the good work Rio aka Riz2336.
Hey John, can't thank you enough for all your great videos, watched them all till the end. Love them! Lets go for the 100k subscribers. You deserve it for sure. Keep up the good work my friend :D
the namco reunion cabinets also have the original pacman game hidden on them as well! Here is the Secret Joystick Sequence To Play Original Pac Man : UP, UP, UP + DOWN, DOWN, DOWN + LEFT, RIGHT + LEFT, RIGHT, LEFT. Then Hit The Ms. Pacman Start Button To Play
Hey John! Please record the Bronco move for us!! I have a small arcade of my own with about 12 pinball machines and I would love to see the Bronco safely nestled away next to the Revenge from Mars! P.S. Thanks for all the awesome vids, keep up the good work!
Actually working on building my arcade in my garage, I've outgrown my dining room. You don't like it but my first arcade game was a Radikal Bikers. My next was a custom built MAME cabinet. Recently bought a tube rejuver and redid my BBH's monitor. It made a huge difference. You say "You need to just look" for arcade games, but honestly where I am (rochester, ny) it's easier said then done. Everyone asks crazy prices, but I've gotten lucky because I'm patient.
did you fix your garage entry door?? I don't know why, but I always loved that sound when you open the door. Like you have to kind of force it open. It had character! :) Also, I'm sure you thought of this. But why not add a space heater of some kind in the garage. It would only need to run while you're in there working, and I'm sure it could be nice and cozy. Sucks to have to wait until March to see more projects being worked on. Love the channel!
John I love playing Monster Bash, light the candles to scare the the monsters, walk into the sword and kill the boss monster whilst your flashing, simple fun game. Cool video, have a awesome new year matey ;)
Just from watching your videos, faithfully I might add, I would estimate that if you clean out that junk area...move your office area to that space...then you would have space for 4 or 5 more games.
I would like to get my hands on a Timepilot that needs restoration. Loved that game. Winter project.. Bring the Gottleib to the basement and finish it.
As ever great video, John! I have a question: can you give me some hints on how to setup a good mame frontend etc.? Cause I have different versions, but there are games I jus can't get working! F.ex.Pole position and Pole Position 2. Can you give me some advice which mame version covers the most mame roms to work? Would be highly greatful for some tipps! Thank you very much! Cheers!
John safety tip. Do not use wd40 to clean the bronco pinball reels. I know that's good for gunk but if it highly flammable and you will burn the house down. Huge pinball no no. Don't know if you thought about using it just an FYI.
Managed to read your NVidia BIOS screen! You have a GeForce FX5200 (PCI version) in the Dell Celeron PC :P I'm guessing the board doesn't have an AGP slot, I think the low end Dells of the time were like that.
What happened to the moldy super Monaco GP you had? I'm the guy that gave you the Shoot Out along with a Battlelane vol 5 PCBs in the Yankee swap at one of your parties, though I didn't realize at the time you didn't have a vertical JAMMA cab. Shoot Out is kind of boring but Battlelane 5 is a fun game. And no I am not Ron Philips. lol!
use a smart strip on your mame arcade to make everthing come run the computer plug to the top and pug the pc in to the main one and the others in to the other plugs and when u turn on the pc everthing else will come on too this is what i did on my mame arcade just on switch on top
How many games do you have in your mame cab ? You should make a video how to make a mame cab step by step, with the emulator and soft15 for rtc screen . Great vid again!
Hey John..What are your thoughts on a working Hard Driving Atari game that works but has a Bad Poly Buff Error /ADSP Time Out Error? One for sale by me and just starting the hobby..
Hey john i woudn't normally do this but im getting my first arcade cabinet + monitor for a project i have and ive got no idea really about monitors i was wondering if we could touch base and get some of my fears calmed XD
I wouldn't have brought it up if you hadn't had the discussion about what the public likes, but I'm not sure Xenophobe will really do well at the Hanger. It's kind of an odd one. To me, it's a little unpleasant. Just my opinion, though, and hopefully it'll do okay for you. If not, it seems like you can cycle games out pretty quickly. Anyway, thanks for the video. I really increased my viewership this year, and it's fun to look back. It's sometimes easy to forget, but it takes a real talent to be able to speak off the cuff for the four or so hours these two videos took. You rarely misspeak and always have something interesting to say. I think that part is sometimes overlooked, but you deserve kudos for your ability and personality as well as your games and your never quit attitude towards making them work again.
Hey john I am just wondering but I have a Japanese version of space invaders And it is original and in great condition and I was just wondering if it is rare
Keep Em coming. long or short, always entertained. (If you pumped out a few videos a day, I might consider cancelling Netflix) ;-) Great Channel. I have no doubt this channel can hit 50k subs by the end of 2017. I'll help spread the word when I get some spare time. If you ever get around to it, show your fans what kind of foods available at the Pub. Games and food are a must for me. If I ever visit the Hanger, it's a must I eat and drink while gaming. Thanks for putting those small tables in between the video games, perfect place for my food. Sorry, if you see ever see chicken sauce all over the joysticks, you know I've been there. -;(
It's a feature of the show, the wobbly table and popcorn machine are John's side kicks, the wobble only gives them life! He did try and fix the table wobble once, I for one was very sad, that was until the part of the video where he tested the table after his fix attempt, and it still wobbled! I yelled out to myself "YES!! it's still alive!"
I spent over 4 hours watching this, great as usual but that unstable table is annoying the hell out of me, it does every show! Use your toolbox and fix it. :) :)
I have enjoyed your channel for a while now but I have to ask... You commented over the video that you don't endorse that look "sunglasses on cap". What's wrong with that look? It's practical and serves a purpose...unlike the goofy rings and bracelets you always wear.
That's cool. I just always wear my sunglasses on my cap when I go indoors and maybe I took your comment too seriously. Nothing wrong with doing things you like to do...be they goofy or not.
I know. It's just that it surprised me when I saw it while editing. I had no idea. I have gotten enough Guy Fieri comments to be sensitive to that "look". :)
This is an odd complaint, but something about that little table you sit at really gets to me. It's too flimsy! Your popcorn machine goes nuts when you talk, like it's on a spring in an earthquake. Okay, really enjoy the videos, carry on!
Amen brother on the complaint about the table. I've mentioned it a couple times already on a couple of my posts. It drives me crazy too. I love everything else about John's videos though.
I love that these videos end with making popcorn. It's almost like a bonus John's Kitchen episode. :)
dude, I'm 46 years old, been listening to VGO for 5 yrs. at least. Thanks for the long video hangs John! Happy New Year! Arcade on!
"OMG Ron Phillips again!" Sounded like you discovered the fanmail end boss, and he kept regenerating after you thought you beat him :-) Awesome part 2!

30:00 John: Close - it's Yu Suzuki.
Thanks John. Looking forward to what 2017 has in store.
Ah man, uploaded just as I'm off to bed. Look forward to watching this tomorrow. Part 1 was excellent. Keep em coming John 😀
Thanks M P!
I love your videos John, thank you for doing this!
Hey John, can't thank you enough for all your great videos, watched them all till the end. Love them! Lets go for the 100k subscribers. You deserve it for sure. Keep up the good work my friend :D
Thanks, Mario!
I love your Blade Runner pin idea. This new machine would be great next to my RFM.
the namco reunion cabinets also have the original pacman game hidden on them as well!
Here is the Secret Joystick Sequence To Play Original Pac Man :
UP, UP, UP + DOWN, DOWN, DOWN + LEFT, RIGHT + LEFT, RIGHT, LEFT.
Then Hit The Ms. Pacman Start Button To Play
Damn Ron! You hoggin' all the viewer mail!
Thx for all the great videos. Much appreciated. Happy new year!
Using free priority mail boxes to store motherboards, clever idea John!
congrats on everything john and please put in the Pac man jr game i would love to see it.
Agreed
Hey John! Please record the Bronco move for us!! I have a small arcade of my own with about 12 pinball machines and I would love to see the Bronco safely nestled away next to the Revenge from Mars! P.S. Thanks for all the awesome vids, keep up the good work!
I guess the next T Shirt needs to say 'It's from Ron Phillips again'.
I have been growing my personal arcade. Thanks to your inspirations.
Awesome, Thomas!
Actually working on building my arcade in my garage, I've outgrown my dining room. You don't like it but my first arcade game was a Radikal Bikers. My next was a custom built MAME cabinet. Hey John, thanks again for the sending that album to me! :D
I'm a Donkey Kong nut too. I'm working on my first RB Pi 3, 10" vertical for Donkey Kong, and old vert titles.
did you fix your garage entry door?? I don't know why, but I always loved that sound when you open the door. Like you have to kind of force it open. It had character! :)

All the best for 2017 to you, your family, the wobbly table and Ron Phillips.
Lol!
Ron, Rum, and Popcorn=a good time 😂 comedy gold. You rock John! love the video. keep'em coming!

Thanks for all you do! Enjoyed as always.
Thanks, Dan!
Just from watching your videos, faithfully I might add, I would estimate that if you clean out that junk area...move your office area to that space...then you would have space for 4 or 5 more games.
omg lizardlick! i used to love that site! thats where i got most of my arcade stick parts before they just dissapeared out of no where
I would like to get my hands on a Timepilot that needs restoration. Loved that game.
Winter project.. Bring the Gottleib to the basement and finish it.
Ok now I want one of those popcorn machines lol.
Nice shout out at 36:18 lol! I gave you the guns for it as well.
love area 51
As ever great video, John! I have a question: can you give me some hints on how to setup a good mame frontend etc.? Cause I have different versions, but there are games I jus can't get working! Vax Buster This is BROWN paint 😄
Thanks, John.
!!I LOVE YOU!!!!
Johns Arcade new segment , The Ron Phillips hour lol
Funny, right? :)
John safety tip. Do not use wd40 to clean the bronco pinball reels. I know that's good for gunk but if it highly flammable and you will burn the house down. Huge pinball no no. Don't know if you thought about using it just an FYI.
Love your show new here but your show is fun and a learning experience
+Nemo's world of randomness thanks!
Get Jay to give one of his Warlords cocktails. Best 4 player drunk games. It's a bar btw.
John you should dive into more Shmups, Raiden and Strikers 1945 and Aero Fighters are good starts
Kenny Corrigal finally, someone else that likes 1945 Strikers
That setup is sweet. I want to play 19xx now!
Managed to read your NVidia BIOS screen! You have a GeForce FX5200 (PCI version) in the Dell Celeron PC :P I'm guessing the board doesn't have an AGP slot, I think the low end Dells of the time were like that.
i was just watching celebrity apprentice and i think you look like a young Jon Lovitz, lol.
love you john!
I DO NOT APPROVE OF THIS COMMENT. ;)
i watch you so much my wife has a nickname for you. giggle box.
happy new year and may you complete your projects this year, cheers!
John + Ron = Best Friends Forever
+RetroRoadshow ha. :)
What happened to the moldy super Monaco GP you had?

And no I am not Ron Philips. lol!
I sold it to Jon Exidy in Colorado. I think it's at the 1up in Denver.
This was easier on me, NICE!
Last year made me think of all the good times with my buds in the arcade, had me choked up. I'm getting soft haha
42 minutes in, not drunk. 45 minutes in, not not drunk.
Robotron coin door lights on here too 0:20 LoL
:) Power drift and more so xeno need to be in the hanger (ale cade)
Happy new year John all the best for 2017
man that table was so wobbling I kept thinking about that popcorn popper was going to fall. you need a more stable and slightly bigger table.
My wife would kill me if i'd put arcade games in the kitchen. Maybe an idea to fix the centipede cab? Thanks for the vid.
A game that you should add to your mame shmup list is Turbo Force.
use a smart strip on your mame arcade to make everthing come run the computer plug to the top and pug the pc in to the main one and the others in to the other plugs and when u turn on the pc everthing else will come on too this is what i did on my mame arcade just on switch on top
Ron Philips... What a guy.
You should actually put your Jr PacMan board in your PacMan cabinet with a switcher!
I watched the entire this, thought it was a bit short tbh lol.
Retro Tech 100 did you watch part 1?
i love our long vids!
I actually physically recoiled at that fake butter.
You have Blast Works for the Wii? Did you make any levels back in the day?
Cheers from Chicago :)
You deserve way more subscribers...?! What's the go?
Its THE RON PHILLIPS SHOW
Great video, hope these kind keep coming. By the way, air popped popcorn like yours is mostly fiber and considered very healthy, check it out :)
Hey john i woudn't normally do this but im getting my first arcade cabinet + monitor for a project i have and ive got no idea really about monitors i was wondering if we could touch base and get some of my fears calmed XD
You should put Dragon's lair at the hanger for a few weeks
It's my birthday - would you replace the lower light in TRON (below the control panel) for me? It's all I want this year. :-)
Come on, man! I haven't had a chance to set aside 3 hours to see part 1.
just started watching your videos. love your ghostbusters pinball. gonna get one myself with a friend.
Do you smoke cigars?
Thanks, Josh! I have been known to enjoy a few cigars. :)
i would recommend trying a Java Mint cigar then. They taste just like Thin Mints.
Huh. Never heard of it. I'll check it out if I see it.
yes
Retro Tech 100 😝
Arcade Outsiders episode 101 Please!
I wouldn't have brought it up if you hadn't had the discussion about what the public likes, but I'm not sure Xenophobe will really do well at the Hanger. It's kind of an odd one. 00:40 LOL ... 😆👍👍👍. 30:00 Haven't played that in YEARS/Decades!!! ❤ SEGA❤
John are you getting the Nintendo Switch?
Hey john I am just wondering but I have a Japanese version of space invaders And it is original and in great condition and I was just wondering if it is rare
The Taito version? I have seen them for sale in the US quite a bit. I like them! Joystick instead of buttons?
+John's Arcade Game Reviews & Tech what would be a reasonable price for them?
Freakin' Ron Phillips, lol.
LOL
yay, finally!
monster bash looks like ghost hunt for sega master system
Keep Em coming. long or short, always entertained. (If you pumped out a few videos a day, I might consider cancelling Netflix) ;-)

Awesome, Tyler! I think we can show some food. :)
John, why is your table /still/ so wobbly? D:
It's a feature of the show, the wobbly table and popcorn machine are John's side kicks, the wobble only gives them life! He did try and fix the table wobble once, I for one was very sad, that was until the part of the video where he tested the table after his fix attempt, and it still wobbled! I yelled out to myself "YES!! it's still alive!"
Hey john, wow u have nice machines!
I only have:
•Super Pac-Man
•Arcade Legends cab
•PS2 Kiosk
Thinking on saving up for a pin, what u think?
Pins are amazing fun! Do it. :)
John's Arcade Game Reviews & Tech K I'll work on it, thanks for ur advice
Hey john, ever considered rename the channel to Ron Philips`s Arcade? xD
I spent over 4 hours watching this, great as usual but that unstable table is annoying the hell out of me, it does every show! Use your toolbox and fix it. :) :)
Something's wrong with the Journey in the background.
Shouldn't it be "Bomber Man is a lot like WARP WARP"?
shocked, and reassured, that you have a MAME machine, and that you aren't a snob about emulation!
Ha! :) Well, I obviously prefer the original stuff. :)
In 11:10 john push a button that shut down
moon patrol you missed
go Ron
Make Ron Phillips Great Again!!
I have enjoyed your channel for a while now but I have to ask...
You commented over the video that you don't endorse that look "sunglasses on cap". What's wrong with that look? It's practical and serves a purpose...unlike the goofy rings and bracelets you always wear.
Lol. I didn't mean to wear the sunglasses on my head like that in the vid. :) I like my goofy rings and bracelets.
Should the rum be pronounced like "Pirate"? and You're welcome but THANK YOU! Keep up the great enthusiasm!
+MUMOD BIOS I wonder if it is Pirate. Makes sense. Arrr
40% proof is 20% by volume. If that's right it's pretty weak.
Yeah, I dunno why I said 40% proof. :)
Are you Pose'd ta press this button?
The words are actually "supposed to" not pose'd ta.
You must be new here. :)
At this point it's a joke and I like it because it's crazy. :) I did do a video where I tried to fix it.
I'm not particularly new to your videos but I usually don't read the comments. Okay, thanks for filling me in. ;)
***** LOL. At this point, the table is my co-host. :)
X-specially.
The word is actually "specially" not X-specially.
fix the journey. please :-(
The Xenophobe deserves to be in the basement..... :-(
