Yes , The Mother to be honest in a psychological point of view is showing signs of Stockholm Syndrome. She's pretty much got alot of things wrong with her. So sad for the girls.

Had all three kids before she turned 18 if I’m not mistaken, while being mercilessly abused throughout. She’s clearly not out of it even as she gets interviewed here. Maybe never will 😞
The fact that Patricia will still sit there to this day and defend Yassar just makes me so angry. She truly seems more upset at the fact that he cheated on her more than anything else he ever did including killing their daughters. She should be in prison!! This was my first time watching this documentary, and the entire time it just felt like Patricia Said was talking about the unfortunate death of two individuals that she had no personal relationship with, let alone her own two daughters. All the girls wanted to do was live normal lives and experience happiness, but every adult in their lives failed them due to their selfishness. Rest In Peace Amina and Sarah.

Mothers often support their husband when it comes to honour killings. There was another case when an Iraqi mother was relieved her daughter got ran over by the father.
I really genuinely want to feel bad for the girl’s mother because she was clearly groomed and she’s likely trauma bonded and fears for her own life, but she is not exhibiting any of the natural maternal instincts that you would think you would see. UGGGHHHH This is soooo, sooooo, soooo utterly heartbreaking.

For example, kidnapping brides in Kyrgyzstan, tribal tradition that has nothing to do with Islam

How about a groundhog like thing, where she has to live with (an) agonising terminal illness/es and dies and comes back constantly? No treatment, no pain relief, just make her suffer. If anyone wants an update, Yaser was arrested in August 2020 and convicted in August 2022, life imprisonment without parole. Islam and Yasein were also arrested for "aiding a fugitive."
I am so thankful that this documentary was made years ago. Millions of people have been touched by the tragedy of Amina and Sara Said because of it. I will remember their story for the rest of my life.

@@alissupton5524 The father was born in Egypt, he's Muslim. The mother was born in America and is Christian. I don't remember if the documentary stated which religion the two girls were, but the son identified as Muslim. One would assume that the girls were Muslim being how strict and controlling the father was. The two different religious ceremonies at their funeral were obviously for the father's side of the family and their mother's side. In my opinion the siblings all had a quality of looking alike. Islam and Sarah looked more alike and Amina stood out due to her beautiful eyes. Her eyes (the color and shape) are often seen in what many would say are beautiful Egyptian women. The color of their skin are plain genetics. Islam and Sarah leaning towards the color of their father's skin tone, and Amina leaning towards her mother's skin tone.
I believe that too. All the aunts loved them, and that blonde one is the strongest in their family. That's probably why Patricia wouldn't leave them alone with her, or let them stay the night!
Sister would have took those babies, and maybe, just maybe they would still be alive today.

I’d love to know how this young man is doing today. He is the most adult, responsible and real person in this whole situation. I pray he was able to find a degree of peace in life. Bless his mother; she has done well by him.
Before seeing any documentary about this, I felt so heartbroken for the mother - but now I am so disgusted at how negligent she was. She said several times to other family members “if ______, Yaser will kill the girls.” The girls themselves knew their father was dangerous & verbalized many times that they believed he was capable of killing them. What a tragedy to grow up being afraid of your father & having a mother that can’t be bothered to protect them. I really wish Amina & Jojo could’ve lived happily ever after & Sara got to grow up to be all the things she wanted to be. They lived their short lives in fear which is just so sad. And I don’t want to turn this into a political, cultural, judgement but I just can’t understand a world in which it is accepted for any parent/family member to murder their child. These 2 girls should still be here today living beautiful lives with people who love and respect them. They died knowing it was their father who killed them & that their mother didn’t protect them which is just so horrific. This one really got to me. How could a mother deliver her daughters to a man that she knew was gonna kill them? I seriously think the mother needs to be charged as well because if it wasn't for her those girls would still be here. Then she had the nerve to defend her husband. She knew he was touching her daughters and did nothing about it and then turned around and said that he would never touch his girls. I know she watched the video he took of her daughters while they were in bed and she saw him looking at his daughter's butt and saying "mmmm" come on now what kind of father would do that? One of the things that really got me was when she kissed her daughters while they were laying in their caskets and pretended to be upset that made me sick to my stomach. She's part of the reason they were in those caskets. I don't feel sorry for the mother at all and I hope she has nightmares for the rest of her life and she doesn't get a moments peace knowing that she helped kill her daughters.

As someone with a psychology background, I do not agree. Patricia was groomed and abused by Yaser since she was a child herself- they married when she was 14 or 15. Abuse victims don’t think logically and are trained to doubt their own logic & intuition. She was constantly threatened, stalked and physically abused by Yaser as well. For all we know, she may have deduced that retuning home to Yaser would pacify the situation/ his rage and keep the girls safe/ out of harms way. Patricia did fail these girls regardless. There is no denying that. It’s heartbreaking that their lives were stolen from them by such an evil man. It’s heartbreaking that their mother couldn’t protect them. However, she was a victim as well and wasn’t in the right state of mind to actually protect them. Abuse victims often go through a denial stage as well. It’s common for abuse victims to go “numb” and seem emotionless. Yaser & the Saids are the villains in this story, until law enforcement finds evidence stating otherwise. I’ve yet to watch coverage on this case stating that either Amina or Sarah expressed to friends that Patricia was a villain. All I’ve heard is that Amina wrote to her boyfriend’s mother that her mother “wouldn’t stand up for her”. Unfortunately, that is common for a woman being abused. It’s just a very sad and unfortunate situation. I just don’t think it is fair at this point ( without any evidence) to judge Patricia and make assumptions about her love for her daughters.

I know everytime someone admires my son or comments on how cute he is I wholeheartedly agree with them and feel a sense of pride. I’m a mom of 4 (my daughter uses this account, hence the name) and I am sickened by that mother. I left my kids father after 10 years of marriage due to him being abusive to me the entire marriage. If he had EVER harmed the children I wouldn’t be writing this because I would be in prison.

And girls being sent back to their father who has now become an executioner, where are the protectors of Amina and Sarah at that time? Knowing her, she might be calling yaser just when the heat is going on. And if she and yaser are on trial someday, I want her to be found guilty and yaser, I want his execution to be as painful just like what he did to the girls. And amina’s boyfriend, I hope it will bring him peace.

My ex was abusive to me but he never even raised his voice against our daughters because he knew that if I ever thought that he would hurt them I would Slaughter Him! The only reason he was able to abuse me was because I didn't want to have to explain to our kids "Why did Mommy Kill Daddy?" This happened to a close friend of mine at her funeral her daughters kept asking "Why did Daddy kill Mommy?"
