      You're welcome frames on these modern bicycles really make a big difference. Some people just see the frame as something that holds the seat and the wheels but the way the modern geometry is changing cycling really enhances the ride characteristics. I would like to do a more in-depth video on this subject but thank you for your comment and understanding of how a frame really is the building block of the whole bicycle and how it's changing in these modern designs is really cool to help the rider feel comfortable and get performance at the same time. I really like the way specialized incorporates the body geometry into there builds it really works!

    It has been so hard to find a bike retailer that has anything available. So far I have "purchased" 4 different times through different websites, and after a few days I get a call or email saying it has been cancelled. I just spoke to a retailer in an area to ask about the hold up, and they said that many times the actual orders are being placed through the manufacturer and not directly through their store. If the bike becomes available they will then send it to that particular store. It has been a struggle to say the least. By the time I get a bike it will be winter lol.

    Specialized lists the clearance as 42C, but manufacturers tend to be conservative with these numbers. Anyone know if 43C Panaracer GravelKing tires will clear? I bought a set of the limited edition dark purple -- my favorite color -- when I thought I was buying a Giant Escape 2, which will handle 45C. I have an old Cannondale M300 that I bought used several years ago for $150 on Craigslist. It was more set up for mountain biking when I first got it but I changed the tires once I realized that I would rather ride on roads instead of trails. Hi! Very nice video! very detailed!
    I want to ask you for your opinion, I own Trek X-Caliber 9, 2016 MTB, 27.5, but not long time ago, I moved in a big city in Germany, and the mtb is very very hard nad heavy to drive it around, which I do, and I have fun, but sometimes I just wanna something easier and faster, to zip to the store, or to the park and enjoy some nice ride along the river?
    What you recoomend, will the Sirrus be really good option and faster that the mtb?
    Thanks!

    • @TheBicycleRider
      @TheBicycleRider  4 года назад +1

      Your Excalibur is a very good mountain bike but definitely different than the fitness geometry of the Sirrus . I have spent a lot of time riding around town on a mountain bike and I just don't do it anymore. I find that a true hybrid or city bike just performs so much better and is a lot faster. The mountain bike is geared very low so you end up just using a few gears and stretching your chain quite a bit. I find it's almost more economical for me to have a second bike and keep my mountain bike fresh for the trails Good question though

    • @TheBicycleRider
      @TheBicycleRider  4 года назад

      That is good question. We have noticed that the seat height is quite high on the Sirrus. It is not designed as a flat foot stop bike so the seat post does sit a bit high for a performance characteristics. Many people want to use this as a flat foot stop bike and still be on the saddle For those customers we can cut the seat post down without a problem. This does limit the other end of the spectrum if you want to put the seat pretty high in the air but most of the time there is plenty of seatpost and it's not an issue. Thank you for your question

    • @TheBicycleRider
      @TheBicycleRider  4 года назад +17

      That is a good question, at the moment I don't have a trek dealer too lend me bicycles to test ride on a long-term basis. I do have a few friends that have the FX well we compare them to the Sirrus We do notice the modern geometry of the specialized compared to the FX models my friends are riding really help the comfort and performance capabilities over the Trek . Don't get me wrong trek makes a great bike but I believe that the specialized has really hit the mark with the Sirrus but of course I haven't spent as much time on the Trek to give it a fair shake down, but with that being said the specialized just fits so good and ride so good sometimes when you find something that works you just stick with it so that's what I'm going to do until I can get a long-term test done with the FX models. This is just my opinion on a few miles of riding that bike. When I stepped onto the specialized 2.0 Sirrus It just fit like a glove and rode naturally right away. • @TheBicycleRider
      @TheBicycleRider  4 года назад

      I have ridden both bikes extensively and I see a couple main differences. The cross trail has the bra in fitness fork and it does soak up a lot of the vibrations from the road and is good for light trail use. That bike is not quite as fast as the 2.0 but definitely good all around her if you plan on doing some light trail. The 2.0 is very fast on the road and around town but I have found doesn't make much of a trail bike unless you really lower the air pressure on the tires. I guess you need to look at your intended use and see what fits you better both are absolutely awesome bikes

    • @amitmavar2863
      @amitmavar2863 4 года назад

      TheBicycleRider thank you for reply, much appreciated. I am mainly going to be riding on the roads and this is really my first fitness bike. I live in the U.K. and trails are very limited but people say to me the cross trail has more gears and the fork make a huge difference as it will benefit me as it’s more comfortable but at the same time people tell me the front fork is heavy and hence the bike will be. With the Sirrus 2.0 they say it’s a like a newer version of the cross trail and can handle trails if that’s what I want to do. They also say it’s much lighter and a better bike. Again my ride will mainly be the road and paths, London roads do have pot holes and I hardly have any hills. I’m simply confused which bike I should buy. Both bikes are the same price aswell so not much difference there.

    Hello! I'm looking for a gravel bike an Idk if the trek checkpoint al 3 is good, can you tell me your opinion of this bike? It would be nice!! Good day.

    • @TheBicycleRider
      @TheBicycleRider  4 года назад

      The trek checkpoint is a good bike. I'm saying this because I have two friends that ride this bike and they do like it. I personally do not have a lot of access to the trek brand but they are quality bikes. I have noticed that the checkpoint feels heavy to me when putting on a bicycle rack but my friends that ride it say that it feels lighter when riding then the actual weight of the bike is. I personally prefer some other brands over trek but I have to say over the years my friends that do ride trek are happy with their bikes and you can't deny the brand has been around for a long time for a reason. Sorry I don't have much personal experience with that brand but there are so many bikes and I have always just fit really good on specialized and had very good luck. I'll see what I can do in the future about reaching out to some other brands to personally ride myself but I have to say specialized and body geometry just feels right to me. Hope this helped thank you

      Good question, I am personally 5 ft 9 in tall and the bike in this video is a size large so it would be a bit too big for me. I can ride this bike comfortably but a size medium is a perfect fit for someone of my height. You'll have to excuse my ignorance just a little bit when it comes to height in centimeters for the person. My brain is on its first cup of coffee for the morning so I'm having trouble with computing your height and centimeters to convert to the US measurement of feet. Hi Patrick I have ridden both the quick 4 and 5, Cannondale makes a great bike and of course this is personal opinion but the specialized just seem to fit me better. I do have a friend with a Cannondale quick 5 and he seems to struggle when it comes to getting across town really fast. This could be again just his personal riding stylebut needless to say I haven't spent as much time on the quick as I had the Sirrus . Sometimes when things just feel right you stick with them and that's what I've done with the 2.0 It just feels right handles great The price is right there's so many good things about this bike I just have to vote for the specialized on this one.

      Wow the Sirrus 6.0 is a fantastic bike We have had little opportunity to test this bike the way we like to but so far from what I've seen and and heard from rider feedback from friends that that I've purchased the 6.0 are fantastic! The bike is at a higher price point so it's hard for us to put our hands on a demo but the people who have purchased this bike have really given us some really good feedback and when riding in the same group I can see the smiles on their faces when they throw a leg over the 6.0 and start pushing the pedals The bike is fast nimble and very accommodating to multiple riding surfaces. We will be doing a video on a 6.0 in the near future We just need to test it out ourselves a little bit more before actually filming the video. In short the 6.0 is an absolutely awesome bike and I don't see much that the competition has to match the value and performance of this bike. If you do purchase it please let us know how you like it but I believe it will probably put a smile on your face for sure

      Hi Chris, Specialized currently is only allowing in-store pickup of their bicycles This is to ensure the assembly process is completed by a qualified bicycle mechanic with certifications. We have to agree that this is important as to make sure all bolts are correctly torqued and all the fine tuning is completed. This does help in the long run with getting a bike that is absolutely perfect from the get-go. If you're anywhere close to Biloxi Mississippi please pop in to the shop and we can set one up for you and also fit you on the bike. Good question though but specialize is very strict on their delivery process and this is to make sure that the customer is absolutely put first.

    I’m enjoying the bike so far ruclips.net/user/postUgkxMesz3KOGEmwmvyKQfLfrRSUXLFzfVHZA My only real complaints are the brakes and the pedals. I feel like a bike designed for bigger people should have much larger pedals and more heavy duty brakes. I’ve only gotten two really good rides out of it, minimal downhill action, and the brakes feel like they’re already going out. A larger person has more momentum, so I think this wasn’t thought through very well. Also, I wear size 13-14 wide shoes. My feet cramp up on these pedals that are clearly made for smaller feet. Since I’m not a pro rider (and I don’t think many are who purchase this bike) I don’t think that the straps on the pedal are necessary at all. None of this takes away from the enjoyment I get from riding, however. I’ll just head to a bike shop to improve on a few things.
