    I got this bike 2 months ago for city commuting - anywhere from 2 to 10 miles almost everyday. I changed the grips and the pedals for Race Face ones (I like flats with pins) and it's so perfect for the job. Light enough to be agile and sturdy enough to handle bumps and potholes.

    Just had my mine delivered the other day. Sirrus X 2.0 - Rang Specialized (Ireland) on Monday and they delivered on Thursday, great service. Loving the bike too. Went for a nice 25k yesterday evening. Very comfortable, especially when compared to my Rockhopper which is a trails bike but because of lockdown I've been using it on the roads/paths here recently.

    So I have a Diverge Elite. It's the best and coolest bike i have ever owned hands down. However there are times I have wondered about riding a more simple basic version of a bike and have been wondering about the sirrus, I come here only to find that the reason i want this bike is the reason that people want my Diverge, Humbling in my opinion. Grass is always greener i suppose. I would like to mention that this Sirs has the same gear range as the flagship GRX600 drive train, they are a 40- 46 however over 11 gears rather than 8. Cheers.

The group set (Tektro and Sram NX with a PG 1130 - 11-42t) is nice and totally adequate for road and light XC (which is what the bike is designed for), although pretty much entry level compared to the Eagle, I have no plans to upgrade them anytime soon. I would say its pretty equal, but that depends exactly what you want do with the bike. The 2.0 has the front small chain ring that helps with climbing and thinner tires that help you roll a bit faster. While the X 2.0 has thicker tires which should be more comfortable and less gears because it is a 1x. If you plan on going off road more then the X maybe the better choice. If you are just riding around paved roads either will be fine, but the 2.0 will have the extra gears for hills.

    • @AliuBikes
      @AliuBikes  4 года назад +1

      So it depends on the terrain/trails you are riding. The question is are they mostly flat, have lots of hills, only a little bit of hills, and so on. The 9 speed and 10 speed have better ratios than the x 2.0. The 2.0 is more than enough on flat surfaces, with some hills, while the more you go up the lighter the bike will be and better gears to allow you go further and conquer more terrain a bit easily. I think that if you are between the 2,3,4 you should either go 2 or 4, since the 2-3 isnt a huge difference to justify the price jump, but the 4 offers futureshock (i believe), carbon fork, and more gears. Now if you are torn between the 2 and 3, but leaning towards the 3, consider the cannondale quick 4 ($700ish) which is pretty much the exact same as the x 3.0, except tires are a tad bit smaller, which are better for more road use, but can definitely handle trails/some gravel.

      @@JitinMisra I currently have two bikes right now. I have a Giant TCR and Merida Reacto. Both are all rounder and aero bikes respectively. I prefer them because they are stiff and lightweight and fast compared to the sirrus x. I would categorize those in the more mid level tier of bikes, while the Sirius line would be very entry level. Additionally have better parts and components on those. The sirrus is a great entry level bike, but weight and components are on the low end of the bike scale. You can of course upgrade those parts in time, but being the frame is aluminum and fork is steel (for the 2.0 x.) it gets a bit heavy. Overall it's a great everyday bike for a commute or you just want to get your fitness up. At the end of the day it really depends on the rider.

    • @AliuBikes
      @AliuBikes  4 года назад

      Its a solid bike for what it is, but if you start enjoying the sport more then you will definitely outgrow this type of bike. The average person may use it a couple times a week for a few hours or for commuting and it definitely gets that job done, however if you want to start cycling on the road, off road or wherever you definitely want to upgrade to something that is better. I really wanted to keep this as a second bike, however it made more sense to sell it and upgrade to something even better than I what I was originally planning on getting and hopefully if all works out, I will have a new bike tomorrow :)

    Why can't you ride more than 30km with this bike?

    • @AliuBikes
      @AliuBikes  4 года назад

      Honestly there is nothing stopping you from getting past 30km if you have the energy and are willing to keep pushing forward, the only drawback is that this particular bike is made for a hybrid/fitness situation (not longer rides). Its a great commuter, going around town, and even light trails, but because of its weight and the groupset used it will limit you versus a bike that costs much more is lighter and allows you use less energy to move faster.

      @@AliuBikes what's groupset and What's the advantage of a carbon fiber fork versus a aluminum fork?

    • @AliuBikes
      @AliuBikes  4 года назад

      @@jeffreykaufmann2867 the bike weights about 26-27 pounds which is decent for this kind of bike, but it does have a steel fork which adds to the weight. A 20 pound bike is great because 6-7 pounds overtime makes a big difference when going up hills or even flat terrain as you have to haul more. It uses a MicroSHIFT advent groupset which is good, but the 2.0 is only 8 speed so your range is a bit more limited. Also with a carbon fork its lighter and absorbs more shock compared to aluminum.

    • @AliuBikes
      @AliuBikes  2 года назад +3

      Nothing is stopping you from using this bike to rides 50 or even 100 miles. You will use less energy and spend less time with a road/gravel bike. Its 100% up to the rider, but generally if you were given a road bike and put down the same amount of effort as this bike, you will most likely go further/faster. The weight of a fitness/hybrid bike is heavier by a decent amount, which is the biggest factor.
