Just ordered this model from my LBS a few days ago and this video really shows how awesome the navy color is. I can’t wait to pick mine up! Also ordered an Easton crank and chainring to throw on this and I think it’s going to look beautiful.
Hi James, I’m awaiting delivery of a 3.0. Why change the crank and chainring? My 3.0 will have a 9x1 gear set up and I was worried about the single chainring...I don’t know much about bikes 😳
I got my 2020 sirrus x 4.0 last week, excellent bike for fitness, (perfect for road, gravel and light trail) price here in Calgary was $1,749.00 - I use it mostly at fish creek provincial park. REALLY LOVE IT!
LA Detailing excellent! The bike comes with 3 extra different spring tension (from soft to hard) so you can replace the spring on the bike (you’re prepared tension if you want or leave it like that. I usually ride on pavement and gravel, the future shock works perfectly in my opinion, efficient not like dual sport with front suspension, that you need to lock it when riding on pavement! If you’re budget is not tight, get the sirrus x 4.0 (better components compare to sirrus x 3.0 and 2.0)
Wanted this color but Specialized only had size M in storm gray. I pulled the trigger anyway. I'm waiting for it to arrive hopefully this week at my bike shop. Excited to get it out on the street here in NYC as I am in desperate need of some exercise! Thanks for the video 👍
@@ChrisEnockson This sucks. I don't get this, doesn't Specialized realize that this is by far the more desirable color and make more of them? I live in Switzerland and just went to ask and they told me that they can only bring the black grey (I guess that could be the storm grey). But that deep blue looks so good, I will always feel that I didn't get what I really wanted if I get the black/grey:)
What I learn the Hardaway Dealer screw up on the assembly my Sirrus 4.0 which after two months actually second week failure's (1) Derailer, month & half later Flyweel, BB Bracket. After all taking the Bike to Specialized dealer which they diagnose major issues from the original Assembly. Currently besides the Bike has been healthy & 40% faster joyfully to ride!!
Hi- great video! Could you please give your opinion on the sirrus vs the sirrus x? I can’t decide which route to go! Is the 1x drive system good enough for road riding? Thank you
Both are great bikes and I recommend both equally. The decision should be more based on where you plan to ride. More pavement Sirrus, more dirt Sirrus X. As for the gearing the X will have a little more limited gear range especially on the high end of the range but isnt bad for rec path riding.
Beautiful Bike & Build ! Do You Think it would be worth it to swap out the Groupset to a Shimano Deore 1x12 Groupset & Shimano crankset ? Thank You for the Advice
Nice video, I was hoping you would also put on the extras, it comes with some springs and I'm not sure what they're for , extra springs for future shock?
Much better! A bit pricey though, but it worth the price! Wider handle bar meaning, better handling wider tires so you could run the bike on gravel, loose terrain, light singe track and things like that. I bought 2020 trek fx3 after two weeks I return it and add a bit of money to get the 2020 sirrus x 4.0, really love it! The future shock, clean 1x drivetrain, rear derailleur comes with clutch and 160mm Center lock disc brake. Carbon fork
From this picture I'm not sure about it. It is one of those colors I'm guessing will look much better in person than in the picture but I have not seen one in person yet.
Hey Chris, great video! Do you know if there's any way to remove what appears to be a bash guard attached to the outside of the front chainring? I'm about to get one of these bikes in and would like to remove it if possible... Just don't like the look of it to be honest. Thanks!
I am 70 and have bad knees and will need bike for rehab after I get them fixed. Is the Sirrus 3.0 a good manly bike choice and have good low range on it?
Yes it's a great recreational bike but I would go to your local Specialized dealer and try a Sirrus, a Crossroads, and a Roll just to make sure you are comfortable and able to ride it easily.
How does this go when you transition from road to sidewalks or driveways with a but if speed? looking at the 2020 option currently but don’t know if to go for an elite or a 4.0x
Great video! I’m surprised there’s not more video reviews of the new sirrus line up. Any thoughts on the sirrus 6.0? Unfortunately there’s no shops in the Minneapolis area that carry it right now.
Haven't gotten my hands on a 6.0 yet due to Coronavirus all bikes are basically running out from the manufacturers so I dont know when I will be able to build one but hopefully soon.
Great video Chris! Are you able to put it on a scale? Curious to know the weight of the bike. I'm also shopping the X 5.0 (the full carbon version) and wondering if it's worth the price difference. Did you happen to get a 5.0 in your shop?
I have not yet got a 5.0 unfortunately. Normally I would be happy to put it on a scale but the bike sold the day after I built it. Bikes are selling out fast right now due to everyone being at home.
@@ChrisEnockson Hi Chris, I think I've narrowed my choices to between the Sirrus X 4.0 and the "regular" 4.0 and was looking for your opinion again. What would be better in my case? I ride about 70% road and 30% gravel. The X has an alloy frame, a 1x10 Deore drivetrain, 38C tires and the famous Future Shock, the regular 4.0 has a carbon frame, a 2x9 Sora drivetrain, 32C tires (but I think that 38c will fit) but no Future Shock. There's only a $50 difference between the 2 and my local LBS has both in stock. Thoughts?
@@simonsmith582 I'm actually considering both of these bike and would be very curious to find out as well. So hard to choose between the two. Let me know which one you end up grabbing
@@erfandehdashti Hey!, Yes, still shopping and the X 4.0 and "regular" 4.0 are still at the top of my list. I'm waiting for some of the retail shopping restrictions to be lifted so that I can test them out. Did you ride any of them?
@@simonsmith582 So I actually managed trying them both at my local shop, and I immedietley felt how much more comfortable the X was. The "Future Shock" and the 38c tires definitely make a big difference in my opinion. Since I also wanted the carbon frame I ended up pulling the trigger on the X5 . I think it's still a very fast bike while it has that added comfort and versatility. Hope that helps with your decision.
Honestly Specialized is so involved in the design and manufacturing process and are super picky with quality control and factory assembly that it hardly matters where they build them. I have dealt with pretty much ever brand throughout the years and seen manufacturing move around, some affecting quality more than others. Specialized from what I have seen got mostly out of China due to recent tariffs but the quality has not changed from what I have seen.
I'm bias but yes I would especially in this category. In my opinion Trek doesnt have a bike that compares to the Sirrus X. The Trek dual sport models are going to be more comparable to the Crosstrail which is being phased out by Specialized.

I'd have one, but can't find one anywhere !
Can u do a tear down on the suspension at the fork so i can see how serviceable they are?
I will try to do so in a future video. I currently don't have any Sirrus X bikes left to demonstrate on but will get one eventually.

I would buy the model if we had this color variant. In Europe we only have the light blue version with the red font :(
