      You said the Sirrus 5.0 you would sale a ton of but I'm thinking this bike would would sale better. The 2x up front and the option to change things up as the owner would get more in to cycling and want to do group rides and so forth, could even make a gravel bike out of it, for the price seems like a sweet deal. If I was a novice it would be my choice.

    So I purchased the Sirrus X Comp bout a year ago and I love it, I really would like to make it a roadie and I’m already investing on the Ultegra 8020 group set, but I took my bike to the local shop where they told me that this frame is not designed to be a drop bars and take that group set, I’ve been looking for more opinions so if you respond that this conversion is possible I will definitely do it, thanks in advance. Keep up the great work!

    Wow! This is actually one of the best value bikes I've seen in years. It looks like a good base for the entry level rider that can be upgraded to be a great club ride bike. Price is good but I would like to see it a couple hundred dollars lower. Aside from the chainguard it seems like a no nonsense bike. I think this shows you are listening to your viewers and responding.

    I have this bike since March 2021. Excellent! I made some modifications and plan to do further ones. I replaced RD with Deore XT 11sp, shifter with XTR, cassette SLX 11-42, and I want to replace the crank with GRX 810-2 48-31. The question is will I need to replace BB? Also I am replacing the seatpost with Specialized CG-R, and wheels with DT Swiss G1600. I am 194cm with 100kg, so I need all the help on the mountains :)

    I remember another youtuber reviewed the 3.0, and it was around the same weight, so I suppose it’s either a testament to how light aluminum bikes can be made, or perhaps the 4.0 is weighed down by heavy parts to offset the full carbon frame and fork

    Was interested in a hybrid, when I bought my xxl sirrus 4.0, never thinking I would get so heavy into cycling. After quickly getting addicted to road-type cycling I was able to do a full shimano 105 / drop bar conversion and now have a formidable road bike for any average rider. I can keep up with most so-called 'super bikes' on the group rides.

      Dude seriously I ride a Quick 4 with a 9 speed Alivio group set. I easily go around 15 miles all day long. Reason that I don't go faster is that I am really into spinning. Mainly a super effective way to battle high blood pressure. If you don't ride much, I will easily drop you on a heavier bike with mountain bike drivetrain. Personally think the Sirrus 4.0 is an excellent value. Remember that Ultegra groupset from 10 years ago was a 2 by 10 set up. The same as a Tiagra today. As I recall those carbon bikes were extremely fast.

    Picked one up yesterday. Love it except for when cruising at around 16 mph and I feel a bit of cross chaining when on the large chainring and probably 3 from the highest in back. Feel like a bit of a hamster on one lower gear at those speeds but buttery smooth with a more ideal chain alignment.

    • @Gravitationalist
      @Gravitationalist 2 года назад

      @@scottsellsFL Not sure that's the proper term but it's when it feels like the chain's side plates are rubbing the sprocket teeth due to the chain being at too much of an angle in certain gears. I'm not talking about being on large front/larger rear or small front/small rear....aka crosschaining. I'm talking large front and 3 or 4 of the smallest rear gears. I think it gets better with time as the parts mate. My typical weekday rides average 30 miles with longer rides on Sundays. I like the bike but I'm gonna pickup a Crossroads also cause it does get painful after a while and i love going real far.

    • @andreblanchette9151
      @andreblanchette9151 2 года назад

      I've had mine about 5 weeks now and I experienced the same thing, which surprised me as I thought cross chaining on a 2x wouldn't happen...The second time I rode it I didn't feel it as much, so maybe the gears needed to be worked in...

    • @Gravitationalist
      @Gravitationalist 2 года назад

      @@andreblanchette9151 I've got 800 miles on mine now and it's hasn't gotten any better. Feels very inefficient with all that rubbing. My Crossroads with a single front chainring doesn't do it. Gonna try adjusting the rear derailleur to see if it helps cause it does occasionally jump out of the highest gears when going downhill. Just been too lazy to mess with it.

    • @Steven_Falcon
      @Steven_Falcon Год назад

      @@Gravitationalist Hi, since you have had time with both the Sirrus and Crossroads, which would you ride if doing a 50 mile ride? Just wondering as 50 mi rides is what I do and I am seeking to get a new bike (flat bar).
      Seeking comfort and speed. Appreciate any input on the two bikes with regards to high mile rides.

    • @Gravitationalist
      @Gravitationalist Год назад

      @@Steven_Falcon I would pick the Sirrus over the Crossroads. I got rid of the Crossroads because I got it wrong thinking the more upright you are, the more comfortable. That's true for short rides but after hours in the saddle there is just too much pressure from the seat. I don't even ride the Sirrus anymore as I got a Cannondale Topstone 3 gravel bile and it easily beats them both in terms of comfort. The Topstone is also way more comfortable then the Diverge I also had. It's all about evening out your weight between the seat and handlebars and not going to big. I'm 5' 9.5" and the small Topstone fits like a dream even though the dealer told me it would be too small. Anything bigger and I felt stretched out and strain on my forearms. One thing I learning going through 4 bikes before I found something that really works is that sitting on a bike at a dealer or riding it around the parking lot, isn't a good test. I takes at least 3 or 4 hours or even days before you realize that something is too big for you. It gives those tiny, tiny discomforts time to grow into something very noticeable.

    Just saying... log on the miles too only find out that the Cambodia carbon frame bike sucks,,, thats the worse country too have carbon fiber products produced...
    They can't glue two sticks together little lone build a quality frame...
    Just imagine all the filler used too fill in all the imperfections... Junk junk junk...
