    I have put 158 miles this month on my 4.0 so far, and love it. I asked the local bike shop about the recall and they said the same as you. I have had zero issues with the cranks. The future shock is great, it smooths out the blacktop, and gravel roads. The 10 speed is more than enough for how I ride, and I love the single ring up front. All in all I'm extremely happy with my purchase, and recommend this bike to anyone considering a new ride.

    I bought this bike a few days ago in storm grey. I preferred navy, but when my local shop called to offer me the storm grey that had just arrived I decided to take a look at it. It looks much better in person than the online photos...it’s really an amazing color contrast with the black tire/rim combination, and seems a good balance between lighter or darker color choices found on other models. So after a short ride I warmed to the bike and the color and took it home. I’m very happy with it and as others have noted, it’s a joy to ride. I have a 10 year old Trek 7300 that I’m keeping and had initially considered updating to a Trek Dual Sport 3 or 4, but decided on this much lighter Sirrus. My neighbors up and down the block have already commented on how nice it looks.

    Excellent bike. Got one for daughter today. I also checked Sirrus X 3.0 which was very slightly (about a lb) heavier than 4.0 due to aluminum fork vs carbon fork in 4.0. One more observation, Sirrux X 3.0 is balanced w.r.t weight on front and back, but X 4.0 is slightly lighter in the front due to carbon fork (this weight difference front to back is very acceptable for small size, but I found it very noticeable in X 4.0 Large size).

    Thanks for the review. My bike frame just cracked on a ride after 15 years of riding so I am researching bikes and think I have narrowed it down to this bike based on the style of riding I do. I want to wait to grab the 2021 however. The $50 extra is worth it to me for the colour alone (I love the 2021s yellow, where these 2020 blues do not look good to me).

    Hello, thanks for making these very informative reviews. I was leaning towards the Trek FX4 Sport after watching one of your reviews on it and now have my eye on the Specialized Sirrus X 4.0. It's not a full carbon, but the price point is way more appealing. Would you recommend one over the other? And is there a color you recommend?

    Thanks for creating and sharing this video! You note the medium weighs 23 pounds 11 ounces; is that factory info or did you actually weigh it?
    A couple of corrections:
    1). You note that ‘all’ X models have the Future Shock; I believe X 4.0 models and above have the Shock, below 4.0 do not.
    2) You note that ‘all’ Shimano derailleurs have the clutch; not all do.

    • @GCPerformance18

      No unfortunately not, the bikes are made to house the future shock and if not the right model, it won’t take. But look into buying a new stem that has spring/rubber in it and it moves up and down, gives very little play up and down and kind of acts like a future shock

One thing that’s throwing me off is the smooth stem cap; there’s no bolt. I’m planning on changing out the existing stem on the bike, but the smooth stem cap is making me think maybe you have to use the stock stem because of the future shock or something?? You can change the stem no problem that top part just unscrews. The way you tighten down the play in the headset is the future shock adjustment with a 2mm and 2.5mm Alan key. But you can swap out the stem but you need an adapter for the stem. But any stem can be used

    At this price point, won't a drop bar gravel bike make more sense? With the drop bar, you have 3 hands position. You can also go faster in a headwind.

    • @GCPerformance18
      @GCPerformance18  3 года назад +4

      yea I agree with that always but sometimes people arnt looking for those fast speeds or a gravel bike at all, this bike I think is more aimed at someone who lives in the city or even suburbs and goes on and off curbs rides sidewalks grass dirt and all other terrains so you can have the options to do some miles and distance but also you dont have to worry about being gentle when riding like a sirrus and worry about damaging the rims or the tires going flat over something small. With also the option of taking this bike on a gravel trail too, it would be like this bike secondary function would be gravel riding where as a drop down bar bike the primary would be gravel......... I hope I explained that well lol

    I just purchased one and I’m trying to figure it how can I tell which gear I’m in?

    • @GCPerformance18
      @GCPerformance18  3 года назад +2

      on the nicer and higher end bikes there is no gear indicator, more like when your riding its kind of like a manual car.... you just shift when you feel it is necessary and also you don't have to worry about you running out of gears or hurting it because the derailleur is adjusted so that it wont throw the chain off into the wheel or the bike so if you don't know what gear your in just go up or down and extreme and you can get a feel for them.... but all high end bikes don't have gear indicators on them.... I hope this helps :)

Dealer moved it away from head tube, but rattling noise is still there (see video on cobble street) but less then before. Now it must be the cable inside the down tube or where it comes out at the bottom of seat and down tube? Is there a remedy for it you could recommend? or is this a common problem? Thanks
