    This is getting good. We've reached the part in the movie where Trump orders the lackeys to open the Ark of the Covenant... and he, Giuliani, and Christie lean in.. and Trump shouts to the rising spirits.. 'It's beautiful! Big league! Really great! That ghost's kinda fat.'...

      Why should the government compensate a business for failing?

    • @adc8655
      @adc8655 8 лет назад +22

      +Kivi i that's why its right to make the already wealthy pay a bit more and ease the tax burden on small-medium size businesses.

    • @Abion47
      @Abion47 8 лет назад +21

      +Kivi i There's a difference between a deficit and a loss. Businesses are usually in debt when they start out, sure, but that's related to the nature of starting a business in the first place and usually can't be avoided unless the owner has enough in-pocket cash to fund the business himself. It's understandable for the government to grant tax breaks to businesses that are just starting out as it incentivizes more start-ups to form which ultimately is only good for the economy.
      It makes absolutely no sense, however, for the government to grant tax breaks toward businesses that suffer losses. Minor, short-term losses, maybe, but how do you justify a near billion dollar loss as "minor"?That does nothing to incentivize toe business to succeed, and actually provides an artificial resting platform for the business to remain operational after long-term failings far beyond the point where a fair market would have seen them go under. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if many companies utilize a tactic just like this to curb their profits to the point that they report just enough of a loss that they pay significantly reduced taxes, amounting in an overall gain greater than if they had done better.
      This isn't incentive to succeed. It is incentive to participate in calculated failure. That does not contribute to a healthy state of business in this country.

      The self made part was gone a long time ago. Trump inherited his money from his father Fred. If Trump had just put his $100 million into the stock market in 1978 he'd be worth 8 billion today without doing a thing. He's worth substantially less today because he has been a "genius" businessman.

    • @mrb152
      @mrb152 8 лет назад

      it's actually kind of amazing that you believe that lie. 100 million would not be worth 8 billion today. to do that he would need to get a 11% return every year. he would be one of the biggest genius investors to get an 11% return average.

      It's not. It might be unfair, depending on your perspective, but his use of the loophole was genius. It's not like he didn't pay any tax, he just payed a normal amount instead of a massive chunk.

    • @jordancharles8598
      @jordancharles8598 8 лет назад +2

      A tax loss is not a cash loss. The loophole he used means any losses his businesses had can be passed through to him. So whatever the bank lost in giving him the loan, he can claim that same amount on his taxes.

    I live in PA and have a democratic friend who was voting for the first time earlier this year in the primaries. She asked for assistance with how the ballot works and when they went to demonstrate using a Republican ballot she asked if they could show a democratic ballot. They then refused to help her, insisting she was "on her own." Is that what Trump is referring to? Because I'm pretty sure he'd rather my democratic lesbian friend stay away from the polls anyway.

      When my absentee ballot was finally hand-delivered after several phone calls and emails, it was tossed into an unprotected cardboard box upon returning it. My name along with the person's name who delivered it was attached to the ballot, providing no privacy or security for those voters. This very skewed system harms voters and results. I had to beg daily until the day of the election when a representative on the election committee hand delivered it to my door because the postal service kept failing to deliver it, three times there was one sent and none delivered they should also have been required to wait for me to vote and then return the completed ballot with them. What do you suppose happens to people that are not as astute and belligerent as I am when there is an election and they never get their absentee ballot delivered so they can vote. There was no record of my ballot being returned after I fought so hard just getting one delivered to a bed-bound individual that has no chance in hell of getting to the polls. Records said it was mailed to me a full week prior to the election, so I guess it just flew out of the mail truck or something. Perhaps the carrier knows how I vote after taking previous ballots where I voted and saw how I voted and hated me for it. There is much ado about the trustworthiness of postal workers that is not false. There is no security for absentee voters--even having their vote counted is hit or miss. I believe that every absentee voter should be allowed to vote in person with a representative dispatched to their bedside that brings the ballot to them and then takes the ballot back to headquarters and totally eliminate the postal service that is horribly lax and totally skewed.

      Hillary is way better than Trump, because while working as Secretary of State, and discoverd by the inspector general in 2014, Hillary lost or misplaced 6 billion of our hard earned tax dollars. Hillary is awesome, especially if your rich! Hillary used the same tax loophole in her 2015 taxes, for a substantial tax write off, and didn't pay almost 3/4 of a million dollars in taxes. Politicians like Hillary, and her elite special interest cronies, are the ones who made and passed these tax laws, so the rich can get richer. Hillarys tax plan seems great if you don't know any better, but it will effectively squeezes out the upper and middle class, leaving only extreme poverty and the elite 1%. That's not a good tax plan. Hillarys The Clinton foundation, is entirely tax free, and is used to receive donations from people who want tax write offs. Once the foundation recives a donation, that donation is tax write off for the person who gives it. Hillarys foundation then takes that donation, and doesn't pay taxes on it either. Even under federal investigation, Hillarys foundation was found not to fit the model of any charity, because in regaurds to almost half a billion dollars at the time in question, they used 90% of the money for personal expenses. That's all tax free money, and if you do the independent research, Hillary is the queen of tax free for the elite upper class 1%. Do the independent research on Hillary and dig deep. RUclips search, Hillary saying super predators, Hillary and the kkk leader, Hillary slandering sexual assault victims, or the dirt on Hillary. The list is crazy long, but take the time, and do your in depth research.

    • @IFWT94
      @IFWT94 8 лет назад +3

      To Mr. Bond James, lol no. Trump's businesses lost $916 million dollars no matter how you want to look at it. Because that $916 million in losses are a carry-forward tax deductible, he was able to reduce his taxable income by up to $50 million each year until that $916 million is gone. Reducing your taxable income by $50 million each year is not the same as earning $50 million each year.
      But in case you're too daft: If I buy a guitar for $500 and then sell that guitar for $250, I now have a $250 loss. If I then decide to save money by not spending another $500 on a guitar, that does not mean that I earned $500 by not buying another guitar. Saving is not the same as earning. This may not be the most accurate example, but it gets the point across.
      tl;dr reducing your taxable income by $50 million each year is not the same as earning $50 million each year. Saving is not the same as earning.

What a genius! So, this is the financial brilliance we can expect from him. Making others pay for his screw ups has become a strange meme in the last months. First his facade of a foundation where he is using money that people have donated for charity for his own enrichment and to bribe a politician to get out of legal trouble. Do comedians have business degrees?

    If he knew about the loophole and decided not to use it, I would be more concerned. He was smart to use it, and he was smart to tweet that he would be able to fix the loopholes. The way he got out of his massive debt is ingenious. He might make a terrible president, but I think he's only a good businessman because of how much he failed. If someone never made a single mistake, they would never improve. You're beating a dead bush.

      The loopholes. Why would he want to block something that he very clearly benefited from? This is basically just like his argument about trade and sending jobs overseas. You expect me to believe that he really is against outsourcing American jobs, when he does this very same thing himself?
      Look the simple fact is that if he is staying rich off of his failures and utilizing tax loopholes, then that does not really show much confidence when it comes to him possibly being president. Fiscal responsibility is important when it comes to the national debt, and he can't just default on the deficit like he would with his own debt.

      Wait so If I do something immoral but not illegal I'm smart? Time to rack up some Renegade points =D. But Seriously tax money is for Funding things like the Military, Education, Government Agencies like the EPA who keep companies from dumping dangerous chemicals in poorly built storage facilities dangerously close to where we get our drinking water "just because it saves money for their shareholders"... soo being part of the problem is not being a leader

    I'm so tired of these political parties dividing the citizens. There needs to be a disbandment of the current government and decisions need to be based in the people's favor, voted by the people. Why do we elect officials to make decisions for us when it's so obvious they're doing it for themselves

    This is hilarious. Like the entire concept that Trump is dumb for losing 900 million dollars. You guys do realize that this makes him one of the greatest businessmen on earth right? If he can lose 900 million and still be one of the richest people on earth, he is fucking phenomenal. Like seriously, did you guys even think about this story before even writing it?

      IB Savage. Ok. Let's get something out here to start with: I won't be voting for either Trump or Hillary. It takes a giant imbecile to lose almost a billion dollars in 3 different casinos. The house always wins eventually. I don't know how it's possible he lost that much. He isn't even a great businessman, his dad was, he just inherited a lot of money. It is estimated he inherited 5 billion dollars. Now he only has 3 billion.

      Trump owns 500+ businesses and only 7 had chapter 11 bankruptcy. That's what? 98% success rate? Not to mention he is a billionaire. If that doesn't make him successful then idk what does

      being a billionaire doesn't mean success if it is inherited like in the Trump family same goes for other billionaire families. The grand father builds an imperium and the kids and grand kids slowly break it a part, lose money or 916 billion and eventually go broke. The story of the Trump ancestors is very interesting and remarkable with a smart business man that knew what he was doing but what remains is a sad story.

      The only reason you like trump is because the media sources you actually trust told you he'd make a swell president. If you knew him personally, chances are he'd owe you money.

      The problem is that the American people don't have enough sense to find someone better than Hillary or Trump.
      The only smart thing that voters have done was to not endorse Bernie. ...of course a whole bunch of people were supporting Bernie, which is really sad.
