A bit of fun background on these cheap scotch blends, you can literally go to these bulk white label companies and get custom scotch made. You don't really buy based on flavor, you buy based on malt content. Ranges for 5% malt and 95% grain to around 60/40 for some of the "high end" stuff. 10,000 bottle or more orders. The cheapest stuff gets down to 3 bucks a bottle wholesale.

I haven’t had a ‘bad’ whisky in a while, and I had a similar reaction to you guys when i tried a pour of Grants whisky at a supermarket😅
No hard booze at Aldi in the states; beer and wine only.
Sometimes I have the feeling that all whisky's from the German discounters like this one, Queen Margot from Lidl and Old House No.1 from Netto are all the same stuff. At least Lidl has some good whisky's but sadly they sell the good stuff only online.

At Aldi's I've seen wine beer. I'm in New York in Florida. It was just wine and beer. Also trader Joe's is good. They got some good bourbon. The scottch I bought I didn't try yet !!!!!!

Good to see the Butch! Great advice on the Statesman. I would be interested in more about the award winning scotch that I believe is sold at Aldi Europe, definitely at Lidl. Queen Margot, Glen Marnoch and Ben Bracken Brands.
It might show up in the U.S. at Aldi's brother's store Trader Joe's.
