I strongly DISAGREE on the value scores. What retailers are charging is WAY over MSRP. The tequila shouldn't e judged on retailer's greed, not the fault of the producer, but on what the distributor charged the retailer. (With a note that something may not be worth the "Gouge" price)

To say "you can get Fortaleza still strength for less than this... " as a justification for a lower score is nuts. Where can I get Fortaleza still strength for under 100? Wild common still strength, Cascahuin 48 Plata Tequila and occasionally G4 Blanco 108 (all around $80) are the only comparables I actually see in market.
Couldn't get this, so don't have a strong opinion but I hear that engagement is part of the algorithm now.

I really enjoyed this pour and concur with y'all on it.
For some reason, you all ripped Cascahuin 11 Brix. Actually, I will tell you the reason... it is price. And value is but one category, but y'all let price affect every single category. As an example... the 11 Brix is an overproof blanco harvested at a very low sugar level and fermented in 3 different media. FWIW, by harvesting at a low brix level, you decrease the yield and pack in more of the vegetal agave flavors. For uniqueness, you gave it an 8. For the Puntos, it is an overproof blanco with a specific distillation cut. La Venenosa also makes a bottling called "Puntas." You give it a uniqueness of 9 and say "who else offers something like this?" Ummm...
I'm not a huge tequila guy, but I really enjoy overproof blancos. I consider this, Cascahuin 11 Brix, and the Arette Fuerte 101 to be some of the best in the category. Still scratching my head on the Cascahuin 11 Brix, which I will you say, you guys overpaid for. I bought mine on secondary and paid less than you all ($250) and could have bought for $189 + tax had I known what it was at the time.

If you can find this bottle at msrp or close… I think it was supposed to be $90, I think it’d be worth it… $300… that ship has sailed… nice review

Agreed. I was able to pick my bottle up for $67. For that, I think it is an incredible value. I wonder if it would be more fair to average a “value” score for MSRP and secondary.

I think this is poignant given the value score. In most places the regular blanco is $45, while the Puntas was $80. I think it’s at least a 3 on value I would give it a 4 in my rankings

I guess I just assumed y’all would have easy access to the best of the best 24/7 because of how awesome your show is. Thanks for hunting these bottles down to review!
For $200+ there are way better agave spirits out there than Tequila Ocho Plata Puntas. Plata Puntas is great, but if I’m spending $200+ on an agave spirit experience, I better get the intensity & uniqueness of a damn good agave spirit! At that price point I would rather do a a couple of different Tequilana Mezcales for their flavor intensities. Or a Siempre Vivo Still Strength and a Carrera 54 Still Strength for their UNIQUENESS!!!
