Hey Everyone, thanks for Tuning in to our latest video.
Today we are going to show how to repair my neighbors patio cover that had a few leaks. We didn't build this patio cover, but build a lot of Elitewood insulated patio covers by Four Seasons and figured it was a great video to teach how to repair an insulated patio cover and the common mistakes installers makes.
Steps to Repair an Insulated Patio Cover:
Step 1 - Remove all Water Dams, AKA the flashing
Step 2 - Clean the roof, you can use Lacquer Thinner or Acetone for this part
Step 3 - Caulk all the openings, so the Tropicool doesn't drop through the roof
Step 4 - Start at 1 side of the Patio Cover and use a paint brush for the hard to reach spots, and a roller to plaint the open fields of the cover
Step 5 - Clean up all the supplies used to apply the Tropicool and save any unused Tropicool for future use

A contractor just installed a new insulated roof at my house. they attached the C bracket to the top of the fascia and placed roof flashing across the entire roof. Now the C bracket is leaking water under. any ideas on how to fix this? also i see water from behind the fascia board.
Hey Raul, usually with a fascia board install, you want to mount lower on the fascia board to separate the water coming off your roof and the top corner of the hanger (c-channel).
Personally, I'm not a fan of flashing on insulated covers, because it gives an area for the water to pool on. When I have leaks similar to the situation your saying, I'll generally remove the flashing, paint on some liquid flex seal or caulk the hanger with nova flex or quad max at home depot.
Then after everything is dried a few days later you can add larger flashing if needed, most of the time it's not needed. But if you put flashing you need to be atleast 6-12 inches under the felt paper under the roof shingles or tiles, so that water doesn't travel up the flashing again.
Hope this helps, that's why I made this video, fascia leaks can be a real headache.
i need help, my sunroom is still leaking, i think its leaking from the gutter even with a slope
