I am just beginning to get into sublimation and I have watched a million videos. I always come back to you because of all the work you go into to show the difference and what to do as well as what NOT to do. Thank you for all your hard work, especially since I know you have felt crummy lately. My husband and I have had the flu the week before Christmas and I am just now feeling better.
Thank you Jennifer. I know you have felt poorly the past few days but I could not tell it today. You looked wonderful. Thank you for all you and your team has done to educate us.
Glad you're feeling better. Loving these classes. I've been having fun with the shrinky dinks. Thank you for all your hard work and shearing your results.
I brought the autopress when it was first sold on HSN. Plugged it in to make sure I completed the registration in time to validate the warranty and it's been sitting on the floor since. I purchased a Sawgrass sublimation printer in April and took their online courses. I sublimated a mug for a friend who had his 1st grandchild. The mug had a wooden bamboo lid, so once I did the mug it seemed the lid should have something on it, so I finally watched several RUclips University videos, came across yours and decided to do the thermal laminate method to keep the natural look. It had some unevenness after the laminate and again when the image was pressed, so I did a 3rd for 15 sec and that took care of it. While I like the look, because everyone in the image is dressed in white, the grain of the wood comes through the clothing, but that was to be expected. Thank you so much the comparisons and for such a thorough and easy-to-understand video for this process.
I bought the Epson SureColor F170 printer after I watched your video showing the different printers. I love it, it’s great! I also use the same sub. paper.

Hello Jennifer, I really appreciate you sharing your skill craft with each and every one of us. I am new to your site and to this craft. Again thanks for sharing 👍.
I have a cricut question for you. I used to be able to go back to my projects in design space and see what fonts I used to create them. It doesn't show me that anymore. How can I know what I used?
Thank you for being so detailed. I am computer stupid... and I really want to learn this... Thank you for breaking this down. I really appreciate that.
Love the gnomes very Bright & colorful. You're amazing with all you design and teach with such grace and giving your opinion about what works and what doesn't. Great tips and tricks.
Thank you for the great tutorial. I love that you try several different methods that we can choose from and see the end results. The gnome design is adorable too. :)
hi jennifer i love your videos but i have a question when you do sublimation on wood after painted and put on the lamination does sublimation stickes to it ??? or did i miss something thank you
Hi Jennifer! Thank you for making all our crafting lives so much easier ❤️ I'm wondering if it's possible to stain the wood blanks as opposed to painting, to achieve a different look. What do you think?
I was working on a project and totally forgot how to sublimate on wood. Knowing that I can look up the information on your site is so helpful. I so appreciate your website. Thank you.
Hello, my polycrilic is bubbling when I do the cricut press. Can you please tell me what I'm doing wrong? Maybe bc I used acrylic paint underneath. I'm new at this. Thank you. Love your helpful videos
Did you make sure to let it dry before pressing? Take a look at my more detailed tutorial at this link to review each step, jennifermaker.com/sublimation-on-wood/💗
Thank you! My husband and I were debating on the things you could use to sublimate wood. I told him I'm sure you could give me the answer. I win the debate :)
You can try 400 degrees for 60 seconds. jennifermaker.com/sublimation-on-wood/ Here is the digital download Sublimation Cookbook. jennifermaker.com/sublimation-cookbook/ There is also a print book on Amazon.
Hi! I have a question. The clear HTV on wood is only possible if the wood is coated with a special material? Or is it possible to put the clear htv directly on the wood? Thank you for your videos! ❤
Hi Jennifer! I'm layering cereal boxes to make ornaments. What would you suggest as the best method for sublimating? I was actually thinking of maybe using Siser Easy Subli so I don't have to paint or use lamination sheets. Would that work on "wood" (aka cereal boxes)? Thanks much!
We haven't tested sublimation on cereal boxes or used Easysubli with it. You could sublimate onto glitter cardstock as we did in this tutorial and then glue the glitter cardstock to the cereal box 😊🌻 jennifermaker.com/can-you-sublimate-on-cardstock/
Hello Jennifer and team, Im just learning to sublimate. watched your video. I just have one question, for the poly coating, I noticed that you put the poly already on a white backing, is that just white htv? I also just want to say thank you for all your helpful videos.
You have the best video I’ve seen for sublimating on untreated wood. I’m doing earrings using the white paint and laminating pouches and then coating with mod podge. What do you put your blanks on when prepping for sub with painting/mod podge?
Hello I'm a visual person thank you so much for the step by step where we can see what you are doing! Secondly if I want to use the wood board for food how would I do this? What finish can I use to be food safe? Thank you for your time.
I googled this answer because I have not put foos on wood. Not all of these methods may be food safe like with using paint. With only sublimation: After the blank has cooled down, the Sublimation ink is then trapped in the coating. Unless the board gets heated to around 285F, the item would be food safe.
There are 5 different methods in this tutorial. I did not use acrylic paint and I tried to goole to see if there was a clear answer out there but did not find one. I used latex paint but check out the material list to see the other options. jennifermaker.com/sublimation-on-wood/
You are amazing at this, Clear, concise and calm. I feel like I just had a private tutor. You are 5 stars on my book. Thank you for all you do.

Hi, I tried to put the laminate on a painted piece of mdf, any reason why it won’t grip, especially the edges?
It's hard to know without knowing the temperature and pressing time. You may need use more pressure or just allow the laminate to cool completely. 😊🌻
Hello, Can Wood that has been painted and laminated be cut on a glowforge?
No, there would be fumes. 😊🌻
I have been waiting all week for this!!! I am so anxious to try this. I am a nubbie to this and definatly need lots of help!! Thanks Jennifer!!
Im excited over this sublimation......Thank you for sharing!
Hi Jennifer
Is it normal cardstock you use on the heatpress that you buy at stationers or is it a Special heat transfer cardstock?
Just standard card stock for protective paper. jennifermaker.com/sublimation-on-wood/

Thank you for the clear simple instructions. I have an older heat press that I think only goes up to 365° so what would my settings be?
You can check here. cricut.com/en-us/heatguide
Thanks for the tips! Does the brand or thickness matter on the lamination paper? Thanks in advance
I only tested the ones that are listed and linked in my tutorial 💗
Thank you for all your hard work!
Wow, what a fun craft idea. I'll look forward to making this next year possibly!
Hi, thank you for this great video! May I ask that would it be work to use acrylic or chalkpaint for primer instead of latex paint? Thank You!
Give it a try! It's worth a test.
where can I get the cardstock....can i use printer paper for that...thanks for the great tutorial
Check the description for materials
its awesome and encouraging to the beginners.
Thank you!
Do you use latex paint because it handles heat well or was it for another reason? Could you use acrylic paint?
You could use either one, just be sure it's dry. 😊🌻
@@JenniferMaker Thank you!
Thank you Jennifer for your video. Learned a lot. Can you use the cricut infusible ink markers on bare wood with the copy paper method?
We haven't tested that yet but you could try it out. 😊🌻

Hi, if I did the lamination pouch onto wood and then the pic,are they washable. I want to make a cutting board
I don't think it would be food safe🥰
White glitter HTV works as well! I just tried it on a wood tissue box cover.
Cool!

can i also use these methods for aludibond (aluminium composite panels). if so, are they also waterproof and uv-resistant? thank you

There is a special sublimation coating on them. 😊🌻
Love sublimation, I like doing the gift cards and shirts.
With the lamination pouches, when you cut them does each pouch give you two useful sheets or is only one side of the pouch useful for sublimation?
You can use both sides. 😊🌻
@@JenniferMaker Can you use the lamination pouches on ceramic tiles, etc?
