I literally watched a huge amount of videos just to try and get the basics on sublimation printing. So far you are the only one who broke down all the things you need without a whole bunch of miscellaneous chatter that was not relevant to the video! Thank you for such a concise description of how to get started in sublimation printing! I now feel confident that I could do this with no major worries!
As a teacher/curriculum designer, I'd like to add my two cents. You develop and present your content with an innate awareness of adult learning theory, and you cover everything that learners need to consider without overwhelming us. Thanks for being so refreshingly understandable and encouraging. I needed to know the basics of sublimation to order some custom water bottles, but I didn't even understand what sublimation was until I watched a couple of your videos. Now, I feel prepared to discuss my order with my vendor without sounding like a complete newb. Thanks, Jennifer!
I just converted a new Epson ET2800 for dye sublimation. I chose this printer for the price and resolution, which was better than some of the more expensive Epson ET printers. When I set it up, I discovered the colors were spot on, no adjustments needed. Im using Printer Jack’s ink and paper, and I’m loving the results! Before I got the printer, I bought a professional grade heat press at a garage sale, and it includes a mug press attachment, a hat attachment, and smaller round flats for other objects.
Omg you just helped me so much with this comment because I want to buy a printer and was kind of scared because I didn’t not know what series of the printer would be better and not cost so much! With all that being said thank you! ❤❤❤
How would you go about converting to the sublimation ink? I’ve got that printer but with standard ink already in it. Is it best to use up the previous ink, or is there a way to empty and clean the ink tanks?
@@christophercox2190 I don’t think you can successfully convert a printer currently using standard ink. For what Epson Ecotank printers go for these days, you’re better off spending the money and getting a new printer. That’s what I did. But once you make it a dye sub printer, you can never go back to standard. I’ve had my Ecotank for several months, and I’m surprised how the dye sub ink seems to last longer than the standard ink. I’ve done dozens of dye sub transfers, and I have yet to add any ink! My standard Epson, on the other hand, seems to run out after fifty sheets. 😆
@@JessicaLewis-g5c would definitely recommend the Epson ET2800! After buying it, I discovered the print resolution was BETTER than the expensive $600 printer at the craft store.

Hi Jennifer, Eason has refurbished ET printers for sale. Would this be ok for sublimation printer? The new ones are very expensive . And Can I use Cricut Infusible ink products without getting a printer. Do I have to have a printer?
I saw a tutorial on using an inkjet printer for sublimation printing, but she said that it’s nearly impossible to convert a printer that has ever been used with regular ink. It should be a brand new printer. It still costs way less than one made for sublimation.
Hi Jennifer, I reviewed this many times, (Sublimation for Beginners: Printers, Ink, Paper, and EVERYTHING You Need to Get Started) I have the ASub paper on what can I do to make images Vibrant on Cotton . I have the Epson 2800 converted as you stated. I purchased sooooo much cotton and I just can't waste them :)

Thank you for this explanation I greatly appreciate it, I have been wanting to try for a while and have been so scared. I finally had the courage to purchase the printer ink and paper but that's it for now. thank you.
Excelent video. I got fresh unused epson ecotank and I heard someone talking about turning it into sublimation printer. I was searching full guide for it, since it was completely new topic for me and I found many many videos, but it was always just bits and bops without explaining the the concept. This was what I was looking for.
Hi jennifer, I need help. The colors of my sublimation graphics look different on a computer screen than when printed on paper. For example, black patterns are slightly red. What could be causing this and how can I fix it? I will be grateful for your help.
If your image has a red tint, or other color tints, there's a high chance that it is because your nozzles are not firing properly in your sublimation printer. Also check the ink level. jennifermaker.com/sublimation-color-problems/
You've done a fantastic job of informing us about sublimation! You clearly know what you are talking about. I'm an old college football player and don't care about all the "less macho" things that cricut and sublimation techniques are used on. But I truly respect the fine video you've put together!
Thank you, Jennifer! I now know this is an expensive endeavor and to not purchase any of these supplies until I am very comfortable with my Cricut. I think it’s too tempting to want to buy everything when you get your new machine and you can get discouraged if you jump in the deep end too soon.

I am as well not ready to get a sublimation printer. Can I send my svg files to a sublimation printing business? How should you expect them to deliver your sheets? (I am concerned about humidity, shocks…)
I love watching your videos you break it down and walk through it without rushing. I have a quick question I just got the Epson ET4800 is that one that can be converted? Thank you!

Thank you for your informational tutorial video on sublimation.
That is so awesome and I'm so glad you have a better understanding!! 🥰
Thank you for this explanation I greatly appreciate it, I have been wanting to try for a while and have been so scared. I finally had the courage to purchase the printer ink and paper but that's it for now. thank you.
I'm so happy you are going to do it!🥰
Excelent video. I got fresh unused epson ecotank and I heard someone talking about turning it into sublimation printer. I was searching full guide for it, since it was completely new topic for me and I found many many videos, but it was always just bits and bops without explaining the the concept. This was what I was looking for.
Yay! I hope it helps.
Thanks so much!
Amazing video, thanks for the tips Jennifer!
You're so welcome! I'm so happy you're here crafting with us! 😊🌻
Thank you, Jennifer! I now know this is an expensive endeavor and to not purchase any of these supplies until I am very comfortable with my Cricut. I think it’s too tempting to want to buy everything when you get your new machine and you can get discouraged if you jump in the deep end too soon.
Thank-you, Thank-you for the precise and easy to understand information. I love your videos!

Question, Has anyone ever tried sublimation on a tennis ball? If yes, how did it turn out?
I have not. You can ask in the group and ask this. facebook.com/groups/sublimationmadeeasy
@@JenniferMaker I definitely will Thank you
Is spanking a form of sublimation? Brilliant! Cheers mates!!
I only do the sublimation using the Infusible Ink. I don't have room for a sublimation printer. I loved seeing all the things you made using sublimation printers. Thank you for another informative video.
Thanks for sharing! 🌸
Thank you!
Yes you can convert that type of printer. We have more information on our blog. 😊🌻
I still have yet to print my 1st shirt because I didn’t have this information. I was just searching the web and received how but not why and what’s best to use for what. Thank you for putting this in order for a beginner crafter like myselp❤
Glad it was helpful!
