You are AMAZING! I follow you, no not like a stalker, but for all my Cricut projects. You sent the email for Amazon Prime deals and I bought the Epson printer, Hippoo ink and paper. I received everything today and thought, now what? And there you are! Showed me every step of the way! Thanks for all you do!
Jennifer, THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU for this very descriptive video. You are AMAZING that you go the extra mile to showing your audience how to complete a project from start to finish. I greatly APPRECIATE it.
Long Story Short: I had bought a Epson that was NOT an EcoTank! (DUH!) I found a video and substitution empty ink cartridges and a very lengthy (think HARD & TEDIOUS) instruction video. Changed my mind after panicking and ordered an EcoTank -- Thank goodness I found your video -- Watched your video and took notes and going to try this tomorrow. Am new to Cricut and loving it! Hope I'm still loving it with your help here to get me on the road to Sublimation! (Anybody need a brand new Epson printer that's not an EcoTank???? LOL)
DITTO ON ALL COMPLIMENTS this video has received. I also probably watched this video 30x while setting up my printer and it was a godsend. There were several moments where things got dicey and I questioned the universe, but it all worked out. Had you not shared your subliflower and how to do the ICS and print settings I would have totally blamed the machine, ink and paper and likely returned it and lost out on some $ and fun crafting! Keep up the amazing work!
You've done a wonderful job! This step by step for setting up an Epson ET is outstanding. Adding the ICC profile info is spot on - you removed the techie fear. Thanks for taking the time to put this video together!
Hi Jennifer!! My absolutely awesome husband gave me an ET-2800 and a Siser Heat Press for Christmas ( I must've been a really good girl !! ) When setting up my printer settings you mentioned to turn High Speed off, I'm operating from Windows and could not see anywhere to change the print speed. I did go ahead and print a picture and it looks fine, but I want to know for sure if this will make a difference. Thank you so much for your easy to follow instructional videos, THEY ARE A GOD SEND !! I'm looking forward to learning so much more from you, I truly appreciate all of your knowledge, you're an inspiration to us crafters. Many Blessings!!
Thanks so much! Open your printer's preferences screen on the relevant icon in the Devices and Printers section. Turning off high speed can change the quality.
@Jennifer Maker : Without throwing away the original ink bottles come with the printer, you can actually use them for refilling. They are refillable. So you can clean the bottles (yes, the ink will be a wastage.. 😢) and then refill with the sublimation ink. But, it will be obviously a good first option to give them to someone who needs them, may be as a giveaway or for the cost of 4 new empty refilling bottles which I am sure of a lesser price than the original ink bottles from Epson. I got a great knowledge about dye sublimation process (this is the 2nd video of your series I am watching) and you deserve a subscription. Now you got another subscriber.😊
I think I must have watched your video over 30 times as I was setting up my whole system (printer, heat press and cricut design space!)! I love all your videos! So informative and step by step! I wish I could keep you in my pocket... oh wait! I can! I've liked and subscribed!
@snowdrop4842 yes! It definitely lasts a good while. You'll have to print something at least once a month to make sure your printer nozzles don't get clogged up.
You are AMAZING!! I need you as my BFF! This tutorial was the most thorough & easiest to understand of any video I've ever watched!! I'm so thankful for the extra walk-thru for the ICC. And I loved how you split the screen at one point for Mac and Windows users! you are brilliant!
I’m literally setting up the ET. I used laser bright white paper to do all the test pages. Works fine. Obviously, switch over to your sub paper when ready to rock and roll. 🎉❤
Jennifer, you are a Sublimation Goddess! It took me alllllll day to set up my Epson 2800, but I wouldn't have been able to do it without you. I had to rewind a gazillion times, but my subliflowers look fantastic! I also set up ICC files. I can't decide which one I like more..the original or the ICC. 🤔 I'm so excited to play now! Thank you thank you thank you!
I tried to do the step but my lines kept coming back broken, and then after the fourth try, it stopped trying to fix it and went to the main page….. what can I do?
I just set up my EcoTank 2800 but the only thing that went wrong is my test page. It looks very very faded and I can only BARELY see any colors. Not at all like what Jennifer printed as a test page. What is wrong?
I was so confused about which printer to get, I've been looking online for printers but I've been afraid to buy the wrong one. After watching this video, you've helped me make my decision. Since I'm starting my s-Thsirt business I think I'm going for an Epson until I ger more business to move onto a different one, but to start I think the EP ET should be very helpful for me. Thank you for explaining things slowly and easily.
@@JenniferMaker Nobody explained before the process when you buy the printer and convert it to sublimation, so I was confused about the ink to use etc. but now because of you I understand NOT to use the ink it comes with and buy the correct ink and load that one. Thank you so much.
Hello!👋 😊 Quick question.. When running the setup and alignment, do you have to use your sublimation paper for all that? It seems like a lot of paper waste. As we all know, paper can be pricey. Thanks so much! 😊
Wow, you are amazing! Thank you so much for this very thorough and helpful tutorial. I'm a small business owner and I was using POD for printing and just not getting the product quality or unboxing experience I wanted for my customers. So I'm taking it in-house in hopes that I can improve my product quality and customer experience. I just went through all the steps including testing ICC profiles with the subliflower (genius idea, btw!) and I can already tell I'm going to love taking on the creation process. From one Jennifer to another, thank you so much for setting us up for success!
Thank you so much for your patience and your dedication in teaching us so much.. YOU ARE TRULY AWESOME! I have been doing tons of research on sublimation printers, I narrowed it down to 2, and it will either be the sawgrass or epson eco tank, but I am leaning more towards sawgrass.. Thank you again..❤
Just set up my Epson 2803 printer with sublimation ink. Finally hours later (and two beers later ha ha!) it appears to be up and running. I did not do the test flower, I don't think I have poly fabric to try. Then the ICC files stuff is where I got totally lost. I do not have a mac I have Windows 11. Not sure where it goes. Suffice it to say that the whole ICC thing just blew over my head. It looks like a good thing I'm sure. I think I will just for now just start the basics with sublimation. My oven is coming today. Maybe later I will figure out the ICC thing. I was an Engineer but I am from the South and we speak a little slower. It just all went too fast. But I love ya and have learned so much.
I'm glad you are diving in and learning! I also have a Sublimation FB Group that I think you could get a wealth of information from as well as ask any questions, facebook.com/groups/sublimationmadeeasy ❤️
THANK YOU!! I received my ET2803 first of May and finally set it today. I took me awhile to set my printer aligned right. I did your subliflower print and it turned out great. I have your Sublimation Cookbook and looking forward to learning from it and your tutorials. Thank you again!!!!!!!
Thank you for asking this. I came to ask the same thing. Sublimation paper is more pricey and if I can use regular paper for the print tests without it messing up my system that is all I need to know
Thank you Jennifer!!! I purchased the ET-4800 over Prime Days with your link and I just finished setting it up with your help!!! I'm excited to start my sublimination journey!!!
Just bought the same Epson printer and will be setting it up tomorrow. Your tutorial is amazing! Thank you for all your knowledge that helps us all to be successful!
I just did my first test on polyester (I'm amazed!) I downloaded the ICC files and did the color conversion. Question: Do you have to convert every time you print, or does that conversion hold for every print? Thanks for another great tutorial!
Thank you, Mrs Jennifer for making such understanding and clear videos. It makes understanding how to sublimate so much easier. The one question I have is how are you able to use other colored inks besides the four you put in your printer in this video? I really appreciate the videos that you have done for the sublimation and even how to use the mug press to do mugs with infusible ink.
Do you mean the ink that comes with printer? You can either use it in a different printer used for regular printing or give it to someone who can use it.🥰
@@JenniferMaker no mamm. In the video you did showing how to set up the epsom eco tank printer the 4 colors you put in it were black, a yellow looking color, magenta, and a blue. In another video you did showing how to sublimate a shirt the design you used had red and green along with the yellow and blue. How did you add the red and green to your machine if there’d only 4 spots for ink? The image you used in the video said “it’s not all rainbows and sunshine, but a good amount actually is”.
Thank you so much Jennifer. You helped me so much in my choice as to which printer I want to get. You have taught me so much since I signed on with you and I am learning to try new things every day. Thanks for all your hard work. You are a blessing that so many of us need.
Not all Epson Eco Tanks are refilled the same. My ET 2800 ink is filled L to R BYMC. I, however, followed what you demonstrated (L to R BCMY) and now I have to change two inks. I caught the mistake. I am learning a totally a new skill today! I thought it would be the beginning of my sublimation journey, but instead I'm learning how to empty ink supplies and replace the inks. Who says one cannot learn new "tricks" at 79! Mostly I love your videos. I should have caught this oddity my self. I was careless.
I’m a new subscriber to your channel and I am so grateful for your content and the way you explain things. I’m a beginner and I was recommended your channel. You’ve put my mind at ease because I’ve chosen to create shirts and different items to help fundraise for my daughter’s liver transplant. Thank you so much. Your videos have been a wealth of knowledge and inspiration.
Im looking into going into the world of sublimation ❣️This was a super helpful video , thank you! I was wondering, is this printer a good beginner printer? Do you recommend a newer model or is this a good printer for me to start with? Please help:)
Check to see what is best for you. With the EcoTank the warranty will be voided and the machine needs to be used at least 1 to 2 times per week. Here are some more options to take a look at. jennifermaker.com/best-sublimation-printer/
I’m so thankful for this video! Trying to set up my Surecolor f170 and was going out of my mind 🤯 trying to figure why there wasn’t a mirror button, until Jennifer mentioned that it will automatically mirror!🥴 Although I am still wondering why my Epson iPrint app is so plain compared to the nice looking ones I see content creators have. Also it has such minimum options on that app, compared to what I see everyone else has. Am I doing something wrong?
Thank you Jennifer for the video. Even though I use Ubuntu as an OS, now that Epson have a Linux driver for the ET-2800 (mine), following your demo worked perfectly. Question - What ICC profile to use, as the Hiipoo site only has profiles for ET-15000 and ET-4700 with A sub paper, but does have it for my 2800, but with Hiipoo paper ? Quandary !
What a great tutorial! Just wondering if it's possible to do all the setup on the printer using regular paper rather than the sublimation paper, just to save on the expensive materials?
Hi Jennifer, great and informative tutorials! I have a quick question. When running the tests, do we need to use the A-Sub paper or can we use regular paper. I am just curious because i was hoping not to use up some of the special paper for the tests. I would if it makes a difference on how it prints on the paper for future projects. but I figured I would ask. I looked thru the comments and had not seen the question being asked (yet) ;) TIA
Yesterday I setup my printer and used your subliflower on a polyester pillowcase I had laying around. I am very happy and pleased with the colours. Is photoshop or GIMP needed? For some reason neither of them are downloading on my laptop
@JenniferMaker thank you so much! My colors look amazing to me, and I found a way to convert the colors in Canva to BK Y M C. Thanks to your video, I no longer need to source out my sublimation prints and charge extra to my customers!
After watching a few youtube videos and reading the google articles I got some knowledge of Sublimation. Am I correct? Heat press vs Sublimation 1. Sublimation is best for quality as it becomes the part of fabric unlike heat transfer where the thin layer exists on to the fabric. 2. Sublimation is only used with polyester. 3. Sublimation is good only with white color or light color t shirt. 4. Sublimation cannot be done with black t-shirt 5. Heat transfer works in cotton and even in ceramic so heat transfer works with varieties. 6. Sublimation is good for photo as this works with multi color. 7. Sublimation needs special printer but heat transfer is okay with inkjet 8. In Sublimation process the ink is converted into gas becomes the part of fabric. Most importantly for the heat transfer and sublimation the same heat press machine works however sublimation needs more heat for the mug, sublimation needs the especial coated mug whereas for heatpress any ceramic mug works. If anyone could verify my answers would be much appreciated
Thank you so much, Jennifer! I bought one model for ink jet and another for sublimation. I'm glad I haven't set up the one for sublimation yet. I love your information and advice
Thank you SO much for this information! I’m getting ready to unbox my Epson for sublimation. Did you use sublimation for all the initial test printing?
This is awesome! I have been sitting here looking at my beautiful new printer for 3 days now finally got the courage to turn it on Thank You!! But mirror image did not show in my printer menu? I have an epson ET-2800
Here is some help from Epson. files.support.epson.com/htmldocs/r1900_/r1900_ug/wwhelp/wwhimpl/common/html/wwhelp.htm?context=Epson&file=print_comp.4.7.html#:~:text=You%20can%20select%20a%20variety,%2C%20turn%20on%20Mirror%20Image.)
This video has been super helpful, thank you! I am setting up my ET-3850 and the instructions say to set up the printer before filling the tanks. Would you recommend following their steps or following yours and filling the tank first? Thank so much!
I love that you did this video. I am a little late to the game. I bought the Hippo ink and a ET-4800 printer. I am a little concerend that the tanks to all of the colored ink. Hopefully sublimation won't take that much. Thank you, thank you, thank you for making this video.
Do you think this one will be good for greeting card making, printing books & for colorful digital paper print out, Epson EcoTank Photo ET-8550 Color Inkjet or Canon GX6020 All-in-One Wireless Supertank?, which one is best to use?
In a previous segment you mentioned that one should not invert the machine due to risk of spilling ink. It might be well to maneuver the machine in seeking the serial number required for registration of warranty, prior to filling the ink well. You might clarify this issue for the consumers. Thanks! CWB.
Thank you for such an informative video Jennifer! I instantly said wow after you re-printed using the ICC file! It was like all the colours just fit into place! Hoping you are having a wonderful day/evening!
thanks for this video, I've had my printer for a while now around six months and for some reason or another I was afraid to use it. Thanks now I can get started
Oh my gosh...this is an amazing tutorial, especially how helpful the ICC directions are. I am wondering if I want to print using the ICC profile, do I have to always print from GIMP or since I set this up for the printer, does it stay in the printer profile? (I hope my question makes sense. ) Thank you!!
how your voice sound so clear and cute? what microphone or software are you using? Can you share the trick to do so? Look forward to your video educating this!
So glad i found your videos (watched a few so far) I use to do sublimation printing a long time ago when it was a lot more difficult and when Sawgrass sued most of the other ink companies out of business or bought them up. I actually had a $400 Epson printer and needed ink, the ink I used (Artanium) was purchased by Sawgrass and phased out, Sawgass suggestion was to use one of there other inks (they had several ones back then) and it bricked my printer. So I had a dead $400 printer and wasted $200 worth of ink. I called it quits at that time but I have a CO2 laser and want to make sublimation printed jewelry items cut out on my laser so I am thinking of getting back in (still have my 30 year old heat press (Insta) and it moans and groans but still heats great). I think I will get the Eco tanks and Hippo inks to play with.
Hi Jennifer! You are amazing, thank you so much for the video so easy to follow. I have one question on the ICC profiles I didn’t see a ET 4800 can I use the ET 4700 profile ? Thanks in advance.
So glad I found you never done sublimation before and wanted to try it, but nervous. Saw your video on items needed and finally got almost everything, all the big stuff including a mug press. Waiting on my blanks now. Do you have a video on tumblers? Also butcher paper not Teflon material?? I appreciate your advice. I don’t sell, I just make for family, friends, and myself. Hobby for stress relief. So thank you for the tutorial videos. Also any advice on designs where to find and requirements?
Question. I already have an Epson Ecotank Printer for daily use. From time to time Epson will send me an Update Box suggesting I install New update. How do you handle this when setting up your new Sublimation Printer? Thank You for all the good videos you have made. Makes things easy for me as a new Beginner Sublimation person. Jack Fateley Jr
Thanks for this video. Can tell me about the ink longevity? I have used an Epson eco tank printer for a couple years with the ink that came with it without any issues with clogging or jamming up. I print almost every day. Do you have any info about the length of time the hiipoo ink will work without problems? I was wondering if doing a partial fill would work better? Haven’t bought a separate printer yet but that is the plan. Thanks for any info you can share!
Firstly this video is amazing and seems like more than everything I will need to convert. Question is, do these inks allow you to print white text/images? As most of my work will be going on to black clothing
Hi Jennifer! So, I finally got my sublimation printer set up! I used the 15000. I did the two tests. One with the printer settings as is and one with the hiippo icc profile for the 15000. Is it weird that the original one was more vibrant than the ICC one?
I clicked on the website you left below for the Epson 4760 printer hippo ink it gave me this. I thought you said that is not an inkjet. The packing is different from what you have, I mean the boxing. Hiipoo Sublimation Ink for EcoTank Supertank Inkjet Printers ET-2803 ET-2800 ET-2850 ET-2720 ET-4800 ET-2400 ET-3760 ET-15000 ET-4760 Heat Press Transfer on T-Shirt Mug (Autofill/ICC-Free/Anti-UV)
Well 2 things... I'm so new to sublimation I haven't even bought the printer yet. However, I have one question, Is there only a certain file type that I can print? I do embroidery and use VIP files. Right now I can print the file to do placement. Will I be able to print that file with the sublimation printer or must I convert the file? If so, how can I do that? Then I would like to share something I found out. Don't know if anyone else has the question but I accidently used a sublimation mug for coffee and microed it and washed it and it still worked GREAT for the sublimation design I used!
I am not familiar with VIP files. You can ask for help in our groups. facebook.com/groups/seweasy facebook.com/groups/sublimationmadeeasy You can use Infusible Ink. No printer necessary. jennifermaker.com/cricut-infusible-ink/ jennifermaker.com/do-you-need-a-sublimation-printer/
I got the same printer for Print then Cut and Sublimation so I have a full set of ink ready for the next time I fill up! Thanks for doing this video! I should get my sublimation ink by Monday! Can't wait to start sublimation printing! I am so glad you walked through the alignment. For some reason my regular non sublimation printer didn't walk me through the alignment section at all. I did figure it out but mine was not as detailed. Maybe it's cause I have a 2803.
Thank goodness for your tutorial, a definite time saver. I have a ? hoping you can assist me with, i must have gone through 10 pgs and ran the maintenance at least 15 times and i still see breaks in the black and cyan. Is there any fix to this? I'm weary of starting to sublimate anything and ruining it.
Thank you, your videos always help me, they are REALLY well explained and complete step by step 🙂 I just have some questions... If I created my ICC profile with GIMP, do I still have to print from that application? Will my settings be saved for future times? Or if I print from any other applications (PDF or Photoshop for example), it will now use my settings that I created with GIMP? Thanks again!
When I hit install ICC profile nothing happens, and the option does not appear in my list on Photoshop. What am I doing wrong? Sorry for the many questions.
I used the ET 2850 the only options are CIE RGB, e-sRGB, Epson sRGB, Epson Standard RGB, ET-2850, HDTV (Rec.709), PAL/SECAM, ROMM-RGB, SMPTE-C, Wide Gamut RGB.
Thanks for the video Jennifer. I have been debating whether i should convert the printer. It's so much more reasonable than getting a sublimation printer. Can you please tell me how long the printer would last? I heard they don't last as long. Is that true? Thanks Jennifer.
I really don't know. I converted mine over a year ago and it works great. Don't let the ink heads dry out. Make sure to maintain it. facebook.com/groups/sublimationmadeeasy
This was so helpful. I’m so excited that i found your page. I’ve been using drop shipping and am tired of all the fees. I’m going to venture into doing this myself!
Jennifer you are amazing. Even though you are way over my head. I am still trying to figure out how to make decal and pin stripes for my tumblers. Just not techy at all. I am 65 am have never gotten into the how to of computers or cricut. I have learned from you so much. I really need to figure out how to measure around and tall of tumbler to cut a wrap the right size .. oh well you'd not need to hear all my problems. Just wanted you to know you are amazing. Thanks hugs Sheryl...I have not even figured out how to use your library for free files. 💙🎨💙
HI, a question. Is the material of the inks different from each other. And the filling inks, or are they all the same material, regardless of the colors. In other words, I can fill in all types of printers. Or is there a difference in the density of the material. I hope to find the answer.
Hello and thank you so much for all you do and your time. Helps myself as well as everyone else. Of course i have a silly question. I have an Epson et 2800 for regular printing. Now I just ordered another printer same one for sublimation. So how do I control my app for the correct printer since there the same? Thank you so much🙂
Hello I know you said that any epson Ecotank will work but I have a question I am thinking about buying Epson EcoTank ET-4850 All-in-One Cartridge-Free Supertank Printer will this kind be okay to use.
I have a couple questions b4 I start the setup can I use regular copy paper for setting up printer instead of wasting sublimation paper an next once printer is set up can u use printer to print regular scanned document thank u as u see I am new so I want to know if I have to have regular printer also for reg stuff an thank u for the vedio it helps so much my printer is epsion echo tank 2803
Would the hippo ink off Amazon work for any Epson EcoTank printer because the only affordable printer I can find in Australia is the ET-2810 model? However, Im unsure if the ink and printer combination is going to work, due to the ink product information on Amazon excludes that model. Love the video; very detailed and easy to follow. Thank you!!!
Hi Jennifer, I have a quick question! I bought an epson 1810 and wondered if I had to initialise the ink every time I open the printer or if it’s every time I refill the ink? Many Thanks!!!
Fabulous video!! You cover everything with so much detail and it so easy to follow. Thank you!! Can you guesstimate the cost to sublimate? A per page cost? Or how many pages can you print before you are refilling the tanks? I’m thinking about make multiple t-shirts with a sublimation design and wonder how much ink I’d need to have?
I suppose it will depend on the machine that you are using. As I am fairly new to sublimation, I have not used up my first round of ink yet on all of the printers! I will have to get back with that information at a later time. This is definitely more costly that Infusible Ink.
I haven't tried sublimation yet, but I have this same model printer. I am a teacher, and obviously a crafter. I print out digital downloads of scrapbook paper, designs on tissue paper to decopauge, pictures... of my family for scrapbooking and of my students for crafts at school, class sets of worksheets a few times a week, hundreds of pages of lesson plans and standards, plus my daughter is getting married and I printed about 200 pages of color photos for save the date and engagements announcements. I print a LOT!!! I have had my printer for about a year and just filled the ink for the third time. So for all I do, the ink lasts about 6 months. This is my third echo tank printer in about 12 years. The second one is still working fine, I just wanted to keep it in the classroom and have one at home. Before the echo tank I was replacing ink cartridges at least once a month. Again, not sublimation. But I cant imagine it would use too much more ink than photos. Even if it used twice as much thats still really good for the average user.
Hi Jennifer. Would you recommend a ecotank for normal stuff like print and cut.? Amd stickers? I like the idea of able to refill the tanks. Dose sticker paper go well I these machines. Thanks

You are too sweet, Connie! Thank you so much for the wonderful feedback!
Does the ink last a good while ? I know it'll depend on how much you use it, but do you feel you're often refilling?
@snowdrop4842 yes! It definitely lasts a good while. You'll have to print something at least once a month to make sure your printer nozzles don't get clogged up.
Thank you! @@ocd.apparel

I'm so happy it made the decision easier for you!!🥰
@@JenniferMaker Nobody explained before the process when you buy the printer and convert it to sublimation, so I was confused about the ink to use etc. but now because of you I understand NOT to use the ink it comes with and buy the correct ink and load that one. Thank you so much.
Hello!👋 😊 Quick question.. When running the setup and alignment, do you have to use your sublimation paper for all that? It seems like a lot of paper waste. As we all know, paper can be pricey. Thanks so much! 😊
It says in previous comments that you can use regular paper
I was wondering the same
❤😂😢😮😅🎉
I was thinking same, but maybe for maybe 1st test might be a good idea to make sure you know what direction it feeds paper 😂
Sorry I just saw similar question, thanks
Wow, you are amazing! Thank you so much for this very thorough and helpful tutorial. I'm a small business owner and I was using POD for printing and just not getting the product quality or unboxing experience I wanted for my customers. So I'm taking it in-house in hopes that I can improve my product quality and customer experience. I just went through all the steps including testing ICC profiles with the subliflower (genius idea, btw!) and I can already tell I'm going to love taking on the creation process. From one Jennifer to another, thank you so much for setting us up for success!
You are so very welcome and thank you for being here and watching!💗
Thank you so much for your patience and your dedication in teaching us so much.. YOU ARE TRULY AWESOME! I have been doing tons of research on sublimation printers, I narrowed it down to 2, and it will either be the sawgrass or epson eco tank, but I am leaning more towards sawgrass.. Thank you again..❤
The Sawgrass is excellent!
Thank you for a fantastic "eco tank for dummies" tutorial!! Very helpful and easy to understand 😊
You're very welcome! 💜
THANK YOU!! I received my ET2803 first of May and finally set it today. I took me awhile to set my printer aligned right. I did your subliflower print and it turned out great. I have your Sublimation Cookbook and looking forward to learning from it and your tutorials. Thank you again!!!!!!!
Great to hear! Thank you!
Great video. Quick question, when doing the alignment printing etc can you use normal copy paper instead of sublimation paper?
Yes you can!
Wonderful! Hope you enjoy it!
I love your videos Jennifer. You always explain everything so well. We appreciate the time you take with your videos. ♥️
Thank you so much! I'm so happy you're here crafting with us!
Just bought the same Epson printer and will be setting it up tomorrow. Your tutorial is amazing! Thank you for all your knowledge that helps us all to be successful!
So exciting! Have fun!💗
I just did my first test on polyester (I'm amazed!) I downloaded the ICC files and did the color conversion. Question: Do you have to convert every time you print, or does that conversion hold for every print?
Thanks for another great tutorial!
It should save it but double check it if it is turned off.
Thanks so much! It is my pleasure. 😊
I was careless.
oh no!! I'm so sorry about that🥰
Wow. Thank you so much for your time explaining thoroughly the process . When it comes to setting things up I'm not good at all but you help me a lot.
Glad it was helpful!
Thanks for subbing!
Very interesting. Do you need to use your precious sublimation paper for the setup process?
No, you can use copy paper for it.
You are amazing, thank you so much, the most useful and detailed video I have ever seen. The world needs more craft masters like you! 😍😍😘✨
Wow, thank you!
I don't think so but try searching and/or asking in my Sublimation FB Group, facebook.com/groups/sublimationmadeeasy ❤️
Great video explaining sublimation. I was intimidated to even think about it, but after watching this, I am sure I can do it too! Thank you!
You can do it!
Thank you for your video! The only suggestion I would have would be to use regular paper instead of Sub paper to do the set up.
Thanks for sharing! 😊🌻
Yes you can!❤️
Hi Jennifer, great and informative tutorials!
Yes you cn use regular paper to test. The color may look a little different but not too much.
Yesterday I setup my printer and used your subliflower on a polyester pillowcase I had laying around. I am very happy and pleased with the colours. Is photoshop or GIMP needed? For some reason neither of them are downloading on my laptop
If your colors look right that is what matters.
@JenniferMaker thank you so much! My colors look amazing to me, and I found a way to convert the colors in Canva to BK Y M C. Thanks to your video, I no longer need to source out my sublimation prints and charge extra to my customers!
Can you print from Google Docs using the ICC profile?
has this question ever been answered? I would love to know as well
Hey Jenny, thanks for your upload. Do I need an ICC profile to do this?
After watching a few youtube videos and reading the google articles I got some knowledge of Sublimation.
Am I correct?
Heat press vs Sublimation
1. Sublimation is best for quality as it becomes the part of fabric unlike heat transfer where the thin layer exists on to the fabric.
2. Sublimation is only used with polyester.
3. Sublimation is good only with white color or light color t shirt.
4. Sublimation cannot be done with black t-shirt
5. Heat transfer works in cotton and even in ceramic so heat transfer works with varieties.
6. Sublimation is good for photo as this works with multi color.
7. Sublimation needs special printer but heat transfer is okay with inkjet
8. In Sublimation process the ink is converted into gas becomes the part of fabric.
Most importantly for the heat transfer and sublimation the same heat press machine works however sublimation needs more heat
for the mug, sublimation needs the especial coated mug whereas for heatpress any ceramic mug works.
If anyone could verify my answers would be much appreciated
Thank you so much, Jennifer! I bought one model for ink jet and another for sublimation. I'm glad I haven't set up the one for sublimation yet. I love your information and advice
Thanks so much! You should join my sublimation group if you haven't already. facebook.com/groups/2149909951843676
Thank you SO much for this information! I’m getting ready to unbox my Epson for sublimation. Did you use sublimation for all the initial test printing?
No, you don't have to. Regular copy paper is fine. 😊🌻
you lost me with the icc on hippo for windows but great tutorial

thank you for walking us through the ICC profile, this is the first time I understood how to do it. Thank you so very very much
Glad it was helpful!
You are so welcome!
This is awesome! I have been sitting here looking at my beautiful new printer for 3 days now finally got the courage to turn it on Thank You!! But mirror image did not show in my printer menu? I have an epson ET-2800

Watching your sublimation epson printer set up.
Did you use sublimation paper for the set up?
You can use copy paper for your test prints. 😊🌻
Fantastic video - so professional, with clear explanations of what to do. Thanks for putting this together.
My pleasure!
This video has been super helpful, thank you! I am setting up my ET-3850 and the instructions say to set up the printer before filling the tanks. Would you recommend following their steps or following yours and filling the tank first? Thank so much!
Follow their steps but only use sublimation ink in the printer. 😊🌻
thank you so much for answering! appreciate all of the work you put into your videos @@JenniferMaker 💗
I love that you did this video. I am a little late to the game. I bought the Hippo ink and a ET-4800 printer. I am a little concerend that the tanks to all of the colored ink. Hopefully sublimation won't take that much. Thank you, thank you, thank you for making this video.
Glad it was helpful!
Do you think this one will be good for greeting card making, printing books & for colorful digital paper print out, Epson EcoTank Photo ET-8550 Color Inkjet or Canon GX6020 All-in-One Wireless Supertank?, which one is best to use?
I love my EcoTanks 😊🌻
In a previous segment you mentioned that one should not invert the machine due to risk of spilling ink. It might be well to maneuver the machine in seeking the serial number required for registration of warranty, prior to filling the ink well. You might clarify this issue for the consumers. Thanks! CWB.
Thank you 😊
Thank you for such an informative video Jennifer! I instantly said wow after you re-printed using the ICC file! It was like all the colours just fit into place! Hoping you are having a wonderful day/evening!
Thank you! You too!
thanks for this video, I've had my printer for a while now around six months and for some reason or another I was afraid to use it. Thanks now I can get started
Glad I could help!
No, you can use whichever platform you like ❤️
how your voice sound so clear and cute? what microphone or software are you using? Can you share the trick to do so? Look forward to your video educating this!
Hi Jennifer, love your videos 💕
does this apply to all ecotanks?
i have an epson ecotank 1810 i want to convert to sub printer
same Q here... does it work for other ecotanks?
I’d love to know if the 1810 can be used with the autofill Hiipoo inks
Also any advice on designs where to find and requirements?
that's so exciting! I do have a tutorial on doing tumblers jennifermaker.com/sublimation-tumblers/ and no you do not want to use teflon. 🥰
This was by far the best explanation of setting up for dye sub that I've seen. Kudos!
Thank you!
You can install the updates for the converted printer.
If you download the ICC profile is this a one time process? and do you have to select mirror , paper type etc., all the time? Awesome video tutorial.
Yes you do, but it becomes second nature after a while. 😊🌻
We haven't had any issues with sublimation ink clogging lines. It's best to use your sublimation printer often and keep the tanks full. 😊🌻
Thanks, that sounds reasonable!@@JenniferMaker
Firstly this video is amazing and seems like more than everything I will need to convert.
Question is, do these inks allow you to print white text/images? As most of my work will be going on to black clothing
Thanks so much for this video. I was wondering if after converting I would still be able to print things on paper for my kids' school things.
No, once you convert it to sublimation that is all it can be used for.
Hi Jennifer! So, I finally got my sublimation printer set up! I used the 15000. I did the two tests. One with the printer settings as is and one with the hiippo icc profile for the 15000. Is it weird that the original one was more vibrant than the ICC one?
thank you so much... what a pain the alignment, etc is.....WOW!! crud... it has already taken 16 pages and 1/2 of my black Hiippo ink
Oh no! How frustrating! Did you get the alignment to work? 😊🌻
The EcoTank printers are inkjet printers that can be converted to sublimation. It will void the warranty however.
Jennifer i cannot thank you enough for this tutorial. All your tutorials are so helpful and i really enjoy watching you.. thank you
I am glad I can help!
You are so welcome! I am glad you enjoyed the video! 🌸
Jennifer,
Can you tell me where you purchased your cute mint green tape dispenser? I’ve been looking all over for a cute one🥰
You rock! I am looking to get a setup for my students... and this makes it so much more affordable!
It does make it more affordable. Thanks! 😊
Is this the same for setting up from mobile devices
Thank you. You taught me so much more than anyone else. Now I am ready to start.
That's wonderful! Have fun!
You can try to print something out and see if there are lines. 😊🌻
I like such videos; and those persons, who step by step, explain every detail, with every possible mistake.
Thank you very much, for this great job.
You are very welcome!
Thank you, your videos always help me, they are REALLY well explained and complete step by step 🙂
I just have some questions... If I created my ICC profile with GIMP, do I still have to print from that application? Will my settings be saved for future times? Or if I print from any other applications (PDF or Photoshop for example), it will now use my settings that I created with GIMP? Thanks again!
Most applications user settings are saved. You can probably select it from the drop down menu.
When I hit install ICC profile nothing happens, and the option does not appear in my list on Photoshop. What am I doing wrong? Sorry for the many questions.
I used the ET 2850 the only options are CIE RGB, e-sRGB, Epson sRGB, Epson Standard RGB, ET-2850, HDTV (Rec.709), PAL/SECAM, ROMM-RGB, SMPTE-C, Wide Gamut RGB.
thank you jennifer! its also great coming back to your video when i need some help. i been in your fan group since 2021 and i still love it.
Thanks so much! ❤️
Glad it was helpful! Best of luck!🥰
Thanks so much! I have many number tutorials. jennifermaker.com/glitter-tumbler-tutorial/
Same here, but you are awesome JENNIFER & you explain very well for people like us who are not so techy. You are the BEST XXX
HI, a question. Is the material of the inks different from each other. And the filling inks, or are they all the same material, regardless of the colors. In other words, I can fill in all types of printers. Or is there a difference in the density of the material. I hope to find the answer.
Sublimation ink is a little thicker than regular printer ink. 😊🌻
Hello and thank you so much for all you do and your time. Helps myself as well as everyone else. Of course i have a silly question. I have an Epson et 2800 for regular printing. Now I just ordered another printer same one for sublimation. So how do I control my app for the correct printer since there the same? Thank you so much🙂
You should be able to rename your printers. You can always ask in my Sublimation FB Group, facebook.com/groups/sublimationmadeeasy

Omg!!! Where have you been? After looking at your video I feel more confident and taking my printer out the box now!!😂😂😂 Thank you so much!!

Hello I know you said that any epson Ecotank will work but I have a question I am thinking about buying Epson EcoTank ET-4850 All-in-One Cartridge-Free Supertank Printer will this kind be okay to use.
Yes, any Ecotank should be fine, but you may not use all the bells and whistles that come with some models. 😊🌻
Hi and thank you for all the helpful content you’ve put out there in this! How much ink would you say you go through using the Epson EcoTank printer?
Not much at all, I think I've refilled the ink once this year. 😊🌻
Once you convert the printer to sublimation it is only for sublimation. You can use regular copy paper but the color will not give a 100% true match.
I use Hiipoo ink and love it! I believe it's linked in the description above. 😊🌻
That printed flower is beautiful 😍
Can’t wait to print mine to see if it comes out pretty like yours
Good luck!! 🌻💗
@@JenniferMaker Awww 🥰 Thank you Ms. Maker!! 😊
Hi Jennifer, I have a quick question!
I bought an epson 1810 and wondered if I had to initialise the ink every time I open the printer or if it’s every time I refill the ink?
Many Thanks!!!
It's best to Google any error messages you're getting, there are bunches of forums with info specifically on your printer. 😊🌻
Thank you so much for your concise, detailed instructions. I could have never figured out this process without this!
You are so welcome🥰
Hi Jennifer.
Would you recommend a ecotank for normal stuff like print and cut.? Amd stickers? I like the idea of able to refill the tanks.
Dose sticker paper go well I these machines.
Thanks
Hi I’m a newbie I’m trying to decide what epson to start. E-tank 2803 $199 no paper feeder or 4810. This has a feeder $245
It's totally up to you, but I'd save the $45 and not have the rear paper feeder 😊🌻
