I bought this printer months ago at the suggestion of someone and never set it up so now here I am wanting to get it set up and your tutorial was brilliant. Honestly, I will watch anything that you post because you are clear, simple with instructions, to the point and let’s just get it set up. Thank you so much for sharing your talents. I was able to get my printer set up with no problems.
Great video! - I am buying an Epson Eco Tank 2800 tomorrow, and this video is about what I am planning to do - Convert into a sublimation printer. Thank you 1M.
I have to let you know. I was really thinking about investing in one of those Expensive printers for sublamation but, I'm so glad I saw your video. You just saved me so much money. My husband purchased the epson printer for me (haven't set it up yet) but I'm so excited. I'm trying to get everything I need for sublamtion together so, I can start having fun. I was spending a fortune on buying the sublamation transfers and now, I can do my own. Thank you..thank you. Have a blessed day!🥰🥰❤❤💘
Thanks for helping me set up my Epsom 2800 printer! SUPER easy to follow, and I am good to go. I was dreading setting up, but your video made it easy peasy lemon breezy! I appreciate your knowledge!
And now Epson has you use their app to set it up. So basically, make sure you have sublimation ink and a brand new printer, thank you for making me confident and buying one of these. I am getting started on gifts!!
Quick question- if I bought 8.5x14 sublimation paper will that fit into this machine ? I know you said it prints smaller but can I use 8.5x14 size paper ?
This is so informative! I already have a ET 2800 for my stickers and I bought the exact same printer for sublimation, do I have to redownload the drive or no? I should just be able to add the printer in my setting right? Please help!
Hi. I have a question. Once its set up which format you do print from. Like the design. Lets says I have a hd design, which format should I convert it into. Does Jpeg work ?? And thank you very much for thw video. I am planning to buy it.
Run the head cleaning about 10 - 12 times in the epson maintenance settings, then print a nozzle test to see if it has cleared. If not keep running the head cleaning until the lines have cleared.
Thanks for the video but where's the "CONVERT ...." part? I would expect that convert means that you have been using the printer with normal ink and then switched to SUBLIMATION ink. Did I miss something?
@@VegaMoon92 Thanks but still no conversion. As long as it was not used as normal printer it's no conversion. She just decided to use is as sublimation instead of normal printing ... definitely no convertion
Hello, I followed your steps, but for some reason I keep receiving an E2 Scanner Error message. The Printer is the same model ET 2800 and it's brand new. Soon as I reached the step after preparing, is when I receive the message. All the website says is to shut off and turn back on, but it's been wasting my sublimation ink. Can you please help me or if anyone knows what I can do, kindly let me know, since I had a project I needed to do by tomorrow, and now it's extremely frustrating because since I used the sublimation ink, I know Epson can't advise me. I really appreciate you taking the time to make videos to help others starting out.
Now when I try to turn it on, it skips the initiation step, but when I try to do anything it says printer busy, and then the same error message happens. I'm not sure if it's the way I'm loading the paper, or because the wifi network I couldn't finish setting up because of the scan error.
I did all that but I never got a printout congratulating me 🤔 Also when I printed my design it looked pale and it did not let me chose to change settings when I sent it to print. It only gave me the option for paper size and kind but not like with my other printers that I can choose high quality and all that 😰😢
Sublimation actually infuses the ink into the fabric, so it looks like a shirt (or whatever you use) that you would get at a store. It doesn’t wash out or fade. As opposed to vinyl which just sits on top. I haven’t tried it yet, but I just got my Epson printer in the mail today and I’m excited to get started!
So it's not recommended to use the 2800 for both sublimation and regular inkjet printing. I would be swapping the inks depending on whether I'm subliminting or not.
We just bought our printer and ran into your video because we were having problems. Well we used the regular rink thinking it came with sublimation ink. So is there no way to fix this or did we just waste our money?
When I first started sublimation with my wf7720, Cosmos Ink said NOT to do a firmware update, maybe that’s why. Not sure if you can factory reset to fix this, but seems like maybe that would undo the update? I hope it works for you, I was always afraid I would update the firmware by mistake on mine.
From my understanding they’re going to be the exact same? (Someone correct me if I’m wrong but that’s what I’ve been told be a few people in a sublimation group I’m in)
Im lretty sure the printer will continue to clog because sublimation is not recommended for this model. The actual ink come with the printer for a reason. I work for FujiFilm and I work with Epson printers.
The 1st print had 2 missing segments as shown. But i left it like that because i know once i started printing it would fill in. If yours has alot of missing segments. I recommend a nozzle clean so it can unclog.
@@LilyRoseCraftroom girl so far I'm at 23 cleanings :/ ... this printer is brand new, literally bought it today.. Not my first sub printer either. It's not gonna work. These printers are not designed for sublimation. It's a waste of money. Sublimation ink stays on the top of the paper. It doesn't penetrate. Paper gets marked as it moves thru the printer because it's not designed for it. It has a different paper support system etc. It's good to print some rough things but I don't recemmend it on ceramics and light fabrics. The few first pictures may seem ok but it will get messy as you print more images espacially if you use high quality sublimation paper. That's why proper sublimation printers cost what they cost. They are not as mass produced as normal printers and they are designed differently.
This method has been working amazing for myself and many others. The ceramic mugs come out amazing and vibrant they withstand many washes even in the dishwasher. Shirts and sweaters are still very beautiful even with many washes. I’ve been using my printer for the past year and its flawless. I always say do whatever works best for you and your budget because yes. Sublimation printers are pricey. But if theres an alternative even better. Thank for watching 💖

No you wouldn't have to download it again. Just go into your computer printer settings and add it in🤍
Thank you so much!!!!! One of the drivers worked!
thanks for your video it helped me. but I didn't get the congratulations paper printed can I stii print sublimation.
your video was great but how do I correct my colors

Thanks for the info. My printer prints but has a whole bunch of lines in it… like it’s missing ink every 1/4 inch. Know why?
With a converted sublimation printer you need to print atleast 1-2 times a week or else the print heads get clogged. Maybe thats the issue?
Run the head cleaning about 10 - 12 times in the epson maintenance settings, then print a nozzle test to see if it has cleared. If not keep running the head cleaning until the lines have cleared.
Thanks for the video but where's the "CONVERT ...." part? I would expect that convert means that you have been using the printer with normal ink and then switched to SUBLIMATION ink. Did I miss something?
She says convert because it’s a “regular” printer that will be “converted” for sublimation rather than for regular printing

Can u do a video for printer settings for sublimation
Can I still convert my printer even if I already used the original ink when I ordered it months ago? Thank you in advance.
No
Question do you use regular printer paper ?
Not for sublimation. You have to used sublimation paper

Can i use epson Ink number 101 , 103 , 108 on this printer ?
Or should i just use ink number 502 ?

This was so simple! Thank you so much :)
Hi am I able to unplug my printer when I’m not using it? Mainly at night time
Can this printer print 8x12 size paper whole paper print, with no margins?
can you have two ET 2800 on one computer? I have one with sub ink and another with regular ink.
Have you worked with silhouette studio software with this printer. It does not want to print, it says not supported .
Any solutions?
Why should we use sublimation? What are the advantages and disadvantages?
Sublimation actually infuses the ink into the fabric, so it looks like a shirt (or whatever you use) that you would get at a store. It doesn’t wash out or fade. I have the same ink but they have a differeent top and has needles. How do I fill it with these?
Great clear information, thank you!
Can you use dtf ink on this printer?
I'm not really sure. I never heard anyone doing that.
By any chance can I use the ink that came with the printer to print a something that I want to put on a shirt?
No, it has to be sublimation ink
So it's not recommended to use the 2800 for both sublimation and regular inkjet printing. I would be swapping the inks depending on whether I'm subliminting or not.
You can't swap them out. The inks are different. You'll have to use it specifically for sublimation or regular ink. Not both.
We just bought our printer and ran into your video because we were having problems. Well we used the regular rink thinking it came with sublimation ink. So is there no way to fix this or did we just waste our money?
@@alisajefferson4211you just have to use the ink in the tank completely and then maybe run a couple of pages through it
Can you add a picture of the correct app to finish the set up please
for some reason when i go to the website for epson i cant download the driver ? theres no dropdown to select which computer i use
Question!!!! Should I turn off update firmware on the epson et-2800?
If you can I would recommend yes. If your printer is working fine no need for an update
I didn't get the "congratulation" thingy. Does that mean mine is not good?
Hi my printer is converted but I did a firmware update and now it seems to not be printing sublimation prints anymore. Can you help?

For some reason i can’t get the picture to adhere to the tumbler 🙃 i put sublimation ink in I’m not sure what im doing wrong
Same here
Did you resolve the problem
I did my setup the same way but it’s printing out dull pictures. Could someone help me please?
Did you work out how to make it not so dull I just got one today and have the same issue
Does anyone know which printer is better for sublimation, the Epson Ecotank 2800 or the 2850?
From my understanding they’re going to be the exact same? (Someone correct me if I’m wrong but that’s what I’ve been told be a few people in a sublimation group I’m in)
I did all of the things , and when I went to print something orange - it printed and pressed green. I’m not sure what I’m doing wrong ?
Did you put the correct color ink in the tank it was supposed to go in?
What if the color on your images look faded compared to the image on the laptop
Should look faded on paper once you transfer it’ll brighten up
Im lretty sure the printer will continue to clog because sublimation is not recommended for this model. The actual ink come with the printer for a reason. I work for FujiFilm and I work with Epson printers.
Mine is printing dull, any help?
My Epson kept giving me an error. I took it back. Be careful! Some companies will not take them back because, you used the wrong ink.
was wondering what error did you get and we're you able to exhange it?
Hi! Did you follow these instructions step by step and still got the error?
Thank you
why is it so light on my settings? Would you know? No saturation at all
Mine too I’m trying to figure it out

My hippo sublimation ink top doesn’t look like yours…
So put sublimation ink in and done? 5:36 video to explain that 🤦🏻♂️

Mine has a ton of segments missing. Should I just perform nozzle cleanings until all segments are filled back in? :/
I once had to nozzle clean my regular printer about 4 or 5 times till all the segments were back. It takes time sometimes if theyre badly clogged.
