All I know is SA got wrongfully imprisoned, so he wanted $36 million but the insurance wouldn't cover the state so they framed him to not pay that much, simples... My problem is with the police who were told by the judge to keep their hands off the case as they had a conflict of interest due to a pending lawsuit against them by Avery . This is just common sense but they ignored the advice and went gathering evidence . This indicates they don’t follow the rules and raises the question of corruption . This is unfair to both the victim and the defendant. An investigation by an outside law enforcement agency would have resulted in a case all can believe in . The current force will never to able to convince the community that they aren’t possibly corrupt.

Zellner is trying to get finger prints. As for Kratz sweat DNA, Zellner claim with expert backing is they had his DNA sample still from the hospital they never threw away as claimed. They took DNA from his ball sweat and then claimed they don't have a warrant for it and tossed it but not what is in the hospital records. So that would show the amount of DNA the prosecutors expert claimed, since the hood swap was in Colborn had it and never signed his name when giving it up and since no record his ball sweat DNA was thrown away it is suggesting those were swapped. They told Brendan all key pieces of evidence they found and he did not tell them anything right of the bat that said he was involved or knew. Brendan passed the polygraph test. None of Brendan's DNA was ever found anywhere. Teresa's DNA was found on a bullet and in her car. But the bullet DNA was no blood how does that happen? Where is all of this blood? If she was screaming for help and handcuffed why no DNA on the cuffs or marks on the bed posts? If the key was shaken lose how come the stand it was shanken from had coins and things on it that never fell?
My biggest issue is... Where was the Coroner? In a homicide she is the ranking officer over the Sheriff, yet she was told to stay out of it or be arrested. That there should have been enough to show the beginning of some sort of conspiracy. Not to mention, the county was about to lose their shirts in the $36 million law suit; they should NEVER have been investigating that crime it was personal, a conflict of interest. The state police should have been called in to investigate. This way, I believe, there would have been an honest approach. Brendan, at this point, may never have been interrogated just interviewed, if spoken to at all.

Problem is that the police clearly planted some evidence. This means if they planted some evidence any evidence left out is irrelevant because it also has to be assumed to be tainted.
I don't know how the police could have planted the car in his compound .. its too big of a thing to sneak into his place. And why would the police plant the key in the last minute when the whole car is already found in his place ?? There are already so much evidence against SA (phone records, plenty of eye witnesses of the goings on in his compound etc), why would adding a key be such a big deal that they die die have to add into the long list of evidence against him ? The key being found will not make a difference since the car is already there, at most its just a corroborating evidence but hardly a significant new evidence by itself ...

If you look at the shape of the top of the key (the part that you actually hold onto the key with) you will notice that the key is not an ignition key. If you do a search for a 1999 Toyota Rav4 ignition key you will see that the key is actually a square shape on top, contrary to the shape of the key supposedly found on the seventh day by investigators. Yet another load of bullshit tied to more bullshit evidence by a bullshit set of investigators.
TAMI F - I only have two keys on my car keyring. Ignition and gas cap key. My father (a mechanic) taught me that too much weight on my key ring can damage the ignition switch. Also, I learned in a self-defense class to keep house and car keys on separate keyrings.

This is insane. Had Avery done this horrible deed , anyone that is not suffering from brain rot would realize Avery had access to a car crusher and a smelt right there on the property. He would have placed Teresa's body in the Rav4 and then used the fork lift to place the Rav4 into the crusher and demolish it and then use the fork lift to place the Rav4 with Teresa's body in it , into the smelt to totally destroy any evidence.. Can anyone think of any possible sane reason Avery wouldn't have crushed and smelted the car and her body ? There is no way a man that is about to become very wealthy would risk his freedom to do such a horrible deed. You could even see in his first interview while He was in Crivitz that Avery was completely baffled and taken aback about the events being explained to him. It's also pretty obvious the Manitowoc Sheriffs dept. had a tap put on Avery's phone long before they were gave permission by the court to do so. That is how someone knew Halbach would be at Avery's the day that she was there and took sick advantage of that knowledge.
He didn't crush it because he would of had to prep the vehicle first and that takes time (about 3-4 hours). Also his brother Earl was using the skid steer and Chuck was in the garage. He couldn't have prepped it in the garage and used the skid steer to move it to the crusher without his brothers knowing and eventually testifying that a blue rav 4 was crushed that day. He originally told his brothers that Teresa never came by, so obviously he knew his brothers would not lie for him. He also did not know whether authorities would show up right away or not. It would be damning evidence if he's in the middle of prepping the rav 4 or crushing it when the police show up. So he blends the rav 4 with other junked cars, keeps the key and waits for the heat to turn down so that he can prep and crush it or just dump it somewhere at a safer time. A safer time would be a time where his brothers would not be around and definitely not while there is an active search being conducted for Teresa.

There was a lot of evidence that proved he was framed. So many! They just didn’t want to pay 38 million dollars. Her boyfriend should’ve been looked at and also the man she lived with. It’s obvious they’re leading Averys nephew. Why was he convicted? Jurors went into the case already convicting him since day one. The cops were proved to be doing wrong things and still they trusted the police department. The police department that had already wrongfully convicted him, knowing they were wrongfully convicting him. How could they trust that police department? One of the biggest things that absolutely baffles me about Steven Avery's first case is that the Police did not investigate any other leads from the get go just like his false imprisonment case, including a former ex boyfriend with no alibi and open access to the crime scene, Bobby Dassey with violent death porn addiciton and access to murder and Scott Tadych who also had access and gave the weirdest recollection of events. Beyond reasonable doubt smh. Kenn Kratz life went to hell after this, Scott Tadych had unreasonable hatred towards Steven during post conviction, Bobby Dassey gave a very guilty reaction when Zellners team quizzed him about his harddrive.

Halbach was the only photographer for the Auto Trader and there is nothing at all suspicious about Steven calling Teresa to confirm time she is coming.

At the end of the day, if he did do it, he would know the cops would come to him eventually and all he had to do was show them his phone with his outgoing calls. He gains nothing by removing the caller ID, if anything, it makes him look more suspicious. Maybe he enabled his number to be recognised so that she would see it, recognise it and either answer or call him back, after being late and not answering it so many times. For every 'suspicious' inference that can be drawn, there is an equal and often greater 'innocent' inference that can directly counter it.

This case is all about what's missing.....Not so much what the documentary missed out, but the fact there is no actual evidence where it should be abundant; why is there no blood splatter in the garage, why is there no blood on the bullet, why is there no DNA on the bed where Teresa Halbach was supposedly raped and stabbed, why are there no marks on the bed where the restraints were, why is there no DNA from Teresa Halbach on the key, why is there no DNA from Teresa Halbach on the hood latch of her own car...and I could go on. The law requires that guilt is proven BEYOND ALL REASONABLE DOUBT, now whether you think they did it or not, I don't see how anyone could argue that there is 0% chance that someone else could have been involved. Particularly so in the case of Brandon Dassey, where there is zero physical evidence. The family of Teresa Halbach, the accused, and the public, deserve to know the truth, and there is just too much doubt around these convictions for most people to feel completely satisfied that justice has been served.
It's sad that we probably won't find out what happened to Theresa, but this case is as fishy as can be. Just the fact that according to the DA's arguments, Avery did horrible things to Theresa in his room and no DNA was found there. Do you know how meticulous you have to be to kill someone and leave no evidence? And there's the fact that they didn't find a single drop of blood on the garage where he supposedly dismembered her. A garage which is full of small items and is not clean. The police just found the perfect scapegoat because the lawsuit was coming.

I can think of a lot of reasons why he would kill her. Maybe sexual gratification? Maybe he is pissed for being blamed for the first murder and wanted to lash out because he thought he was smart enough to getaway with murder. It's not really relevant that some of the evidence was left out of the documentary. If the fact that the police tampered with the blood sample or only found the key to the RAV4 on their seventh search raises a reasonable doubt, then Avery should go free. It doesn't matter that there was a mountain of evidence. Reasonable doubt is reasonable doubt. There were dozens of questions explored in the documentary that raise reasonable doubt. That's not even to mention the misconduct of the police and prosecution team in this case. Does the fact that there was a mountain of evidence against Avery mean that the Constitution does not apply and that the police no longer need to conduct themselves in a manner that respects human rights and ensures that justice is done? Ken Kratz knows (or should know) all of these things. In most jurisdictions he would have faced a professional disciplinary hearing for the way he conducted the prosecution in this case. His investigation was biased and his methods were improper. He can try to explain it away by blaming the documentary all he wants, but he oversaw a travesty of justice.

Manitowoc County officials and local law enforcement HATED the Avery family for many years, even BEFORE Steven rightly won a $36,000,000.00 lawsuit, which basically exposed them for their ineptness and corruption. When avery got a magazine from her, she was sitting in the car. If there really was "Sweat DNA Evidence" on the car, he could have touched it during that time. THEN, she left. Bobby followed her to go "hunting" possibly. Or maybe her ex boyfriend did it. They didnt seem to take a good look at those possibilities.

Season two definitely opens your eyes more on the evidence presented and more that wasn’t presented; such as Bobby Dassey’s fetish with bondage, rape, death, and beheading found on his hard drive or the fact that the RAV4 had been seen on November 3rd one day prior to being seen or “found” on the Avery property by a trucker who just so happened to run into the cop who called the plates in later that day which we seen in the first season of “MAKING A MURDERER” when asked if he was reading the plates off as if he was in front of the vehicle he denied, but this trucker coming forward definitely makes more sense of what we seen unfold. Definitely a lot of questions that need addressed, but the system yet again is failing those it was supposed to protect.

He'd been calling her and had requested her. Once she had indicated that Steven was making her uncomfortable that he'd been inappropriate ; answering the door in a towel where he also tried to get her to come in, ; coupled with calling , insisting on HER being sent to do the Auto Trader ad using a different phone number to get the phone answered. Finally he said that his sister wanted her to come to sell his sisters car and wanted a full page, upgraded, more expensive ad. The Averys' had not being buying the more expensive ad. Terresa was known around town and was a pleasant hard worker who was known to be saving money. Terresa was saving money , for her wedding and honeymoon planned soon. Dispatch had told her she didn't have to go however there was no one else available to go and hesitant, dedicated and lured. by the opportunity to make more money she. Agreed to pop in and out in 15 min.; Checking in with dispatch upon getting to the Avery's junk yard and trailer homes. The company also had another job appt. After for her near. by too. As the Averys' yard was 40 acres with two trailer homes and its own private Avery Road with drive she headed out . When she got to Avery Road she called dispatch and let them know she'd be photographing quickly as leave for the next appt. Terresa indicated she saw Steven by his doorway and she started photographing which was seen by Brenden Dassey and his bus driver as he was left off from school.. The driver saw Brenden go to his door as usual . As she was leaving she noticed that Terresa had stopped photographing and was walking to Steven by his door. The driver left. Meantime as Brenden was headed to his door, his brother Bobby was looking out and saw Terresa photographing and headed to the door. He also saw Brenden and as Bobby Dassey was leaving to go hunting he saw his brother eating a snack and settling down to play video games. Bobby then left. Terresa did not leave and to her next appointment. A neighbor later noticed an unusually high and hot therefore bon fire behind Averys' barn. He was accross the field on the county road passing in his truck behind the barn. He noticed because the Avery's didn't burn. Often and never had he seen a fire so high there in the burn area. He gazed over to make sure the barn wasn't on fire and saw Avery . He also noticed the fire went to on and on which was unusual too. Later Terresa bone fragments were found there and near there plus get other possessions. Eventually her wood / limb covered Rav 4 .was found. It was obvious by the. Way the wood was around it was placed to hide the vehicle . Days later Brenden confessed and implicated Steven. and himself.
You can’t burn a body to ashes in an open fire pit like that. It doesn’t direct the heat to the body to burn it to ash. You’d have to have the body in a small metal container like a barrel. That’s not opinion. That’s fact
If there had been a professional investigation with cordononing of the crime scene from the get go, experts bought to the scene/forensics, all venues amd *suspects* investigated, interviewed and illuminated etc etc (as in a proper job),... maybe we would all know that now? But because there was no investigation of any sort, likely we will never know the whole truth and nothing but the truth?
Re-watching MaM. Question: did the investigators find Avery’s fingerprints in the RAV4 on the steering wheel, dashboard, gear shift? Also, if he did park the vehicle where it was later found, wouldn’t he have wiped the key and left it in the car? Also, the narrative the prosecutors used in the press conference, based on Dassey’s “confession” should have opened up a greater forensic investigation for blood and other body fluids, hair, prints, etc. which would have HAD to have still been present in the trailer.
I am not proud to be an American, to have served this country, protecting our constitution, and securing our freedoms and rights for 25 years in the Army, anymore. This case just sickens and saddens me horribly. Presumed innocence, reasonable doubt, willingness to turn turn a blind eye to clearly planted evidence, and entirely lacking evidence in other places...it’s not properly American. We’ve lost our way. Sweat evidence under the hood is easily explained if the cops walk him over there to try to jar a confession or even taken from him and walked over on a rag or swab. The cops didn’t properly search the house the first SIX times? They removed this man from his residence and locked it down for a week or so, and people question how evidence could be planted? Already having a lawsuit against the town and police, no one thought it smart to bring in ONLY outside investigators and prosecutors? That after tons of questionnaires were looked at and only 1 person thought him innocent prior to his trial, that didn’t spur a change of venue? As to his link to the lady...he found someone that would work in his price range, or saw someone needing work and decided to be a better person to her than others had been to him so he tried to keep her employed. Then after she’s missing they pull her phone records and see his number so boom...we can take care of the lawsuit and the investigation both with 1 stone. Oh, and the cops on the hook for millions out of their pockets are also the ones that find essential evidence? Then they essentially tortured a mentally challenged man for days with little sleep, little food and water, no bathroom breaks until he gives them the confession they want using words not common to his capability or personal dictionary...but the words and sentence fragments sound a lot like questions and statements the cops made while interrogating him. This is sad. The Wisconsin Supreme Court or court of appeals should have tossed this one simply on prejudiced venue and lack of a possible fair trial. And then they should look at the evidence, including the tampered blood vial. This was way too easy and a slam dunk. Too much of a frame job. Just sad that in America you are no longer innocent until proven guilty, the cops and media hold your trial in the news while giving you no voice to combat it, that you can’t get a fair and impartial jury or judge, and really can’t get a clean investigation. Just sad days in America.

There is not a drop of blood anywhere in the crime scenes. No finger prints anywhere in the car. We were told the victim was shot in the garage, but no blood was ever found there. Even a fool can see the travesty of the trial is beyond insanity.

And the kid testified that he helped Avery clean a small area of the garage floor that night with bleach, gas, and paint thinner. That would do a good job of cleaning the floor and destroying any residual DNA. Before you take everything that stupid TV show tells you at face value, maybe find out why Avery was convicted.

I don't believe that is what they are saying.....I think they are saying that someone else killed her, but the police believed it was Avery from the jump. Because they believed he was guilty, they felt it OK to plant evidence ( i mean if he raped, killed and burnt her body, he should go to prison.....and they knew it would be tough to prove since he had been falsely imprisoned before), and they also believe that because they focused on Steven from the start, they never really investigated anyone else. The cops searched Avery's house shortly after she went missing but failed to notice the blood soaked bed sheets that the police narrative suggested would be obvious due to the throat supposedly been cut and then strangled to death! The motive was the fact that the insurance pay out of $36m would be reclaimed from the 2 policemen's personal wealth that caused his wrongful incarceration for the 1st 18 years. One of those became the head of the police department and the other was present prior to the key being found although the case had already been transferred to another police force so he had no business being there. The actual murderer was probably known to these 2 corrupt cops. Ryan Hilligus lied when he said that he had found Theresa's day planner in her home although she never returned there before her murder. They should have encouraged Brendan to testify against Avery. Then the assault charges (including the binding to the bed), his “confession” as to how the murder occurred (throat slitting and stabbing), etc. would have all been admitted and the soundly debunked shattering the prosecution. Video of the various interrogations of Dassey, including the vile Mike O’Kelly, would have been admitted, demonstrating Dassey’s unreliability as a witness and perhaps opening the door for an argument of coercion on the part of Manitowoc County police and DA in order to nail Avery and avoid a costly lawsuit/settlement. The prosecution won by the defense fighting Dassey‘s testifying.
It was definatly to not wanting to pay him the 36 mil. It's amazing that a system can be used to frame someone and everybody know's it's framing..i mean..That is a rotten system isn't it?

My problem is with the police who were told by the judge to keep their hands off the case as they had a conflict of interest due to a pending lawsuit against them by Avery . This is just common sense but they ignored the advice and went gathering evidence . This indicates they don’t follow the rules and raises the question of corruption . This is unfair to both the victim and the defendant. An investigation by an outside law enforcement agency would have resulted in a case all can believe in . The current force will never to able to convince the community that they aren’t possibly corrupt.

The crime lab had a key cut to get onto, and move, the rav4 after its discovery on the Avery land. It is possible that the this was the cut key, planted after depositing Steven Averys DNA on it. Zellner is trying to get finger prints. As for Kratz sweat DNA, Zellner claim with expert backing is they had his DNA sample still from the hospital they never threw away as claimed. They took DNA from his ball sweat and then claimed they don't have a warrant for it and tossed it but not what is in the hospital records. So that would show the amount of DNA the prosecutors expert claimed, since the hood swap was in Colborn had it and never signed his name when giving it up and since no record his ball sweat DNA was thrown away it is suggesting those were swapped. They told Brendan all key pieces of evidence they found and he did not tell them anything right of the bat that said he was involved or knew. Brendan passed the polygraph test. None of Brendan's DNA was ever found anywhere. Teresa's DNA was found on a bullet and in her car. But the bullet DNA was no blood how does that happen? Where is all of this blood? If she was screaming for help and handcuffed why no DNA on the cuffs or marks on the bed posts? If the key was shaken lose how come the stand it was shanken from had coins and things on it that never fell?

My biggest issue is... Where was the Coroner? In a homicide she is the ranking officer over the Sheriff, yet she was told to stay out of it or be arrested. That there should have been enough to show the beginning of some sort of conspiracy. Not to mention, the county was about to lose their shirts in the $36 million law suit; they should NEVER have been investigating that crime it was personal, a conflict of interest. The state police should have been called in to investigate. This way, I believe, there would have been an honest approach. Brendan, at this point, may never have been interrogated just interviewed, if spoken to at all.

I love how Kratz constantly uses hyperbole to discuss the amount of evidence that was left of the documentary. Yet here he just talks about this sweat DNA that isn't a real thing and the 3 phone calls. But apparently that is a MOUNTAIN of evidence. Give me a break..

Problem is that the police clearly planted some evidence. This means if they planted some evidence any evidence left out is irrelevant because it also has to be assumed to be tainted.
I don't know how the police could have planted the car in his compound .. its too big of a thing to sneak into his place. And why would the police plant the key in the last minute when the whole car is already found in his place ?? There are already so much evidence against SA (phone records, plenty of eye witnesses of the goings on in his compound etc), why would adding a key be such a big deal that they die die have to add into the long list of evidence against him ? The key being found will not make a difference since the car is already there, at most its just a corroborating evidence but hardly a significant new evidence by itself ...
There is NO proof anyone planted anything, it is speculation, by the same ignorant people who speculate avery is innocent.

And Jerry Buting brought up a great point... he said if you look at the mill marks on that key you can see its a newer copy not one thats been used over and over and worn in. And like you said how is only Stevens DNA on it? He would've touched it a few times maybe if he did do this crime? How many times over and over would Theresa have touched that thing? If you look at the shape of the top of the key (the part that you actually hold onto the key with) you will notice that the key is not an ignition key. If you do a search for a 1999 Toyota Rav4 ignition key you will see that the key is actually a square shape on top, contrary to the shape of the key supposedly found on the seventh day by investigators. Yet another load of bullshit tied to more bullshit evidence by a bullshit set of investigators.
TAMI F - I only have two keys on my car keyring. Ignition and gas cap key. My father (a mechanic) taught me that too much weight on my key ring can damage the ignition switch. Also, I learned in a self-defense class to keep house and car keys on separate keyrings.

This is insane. Had Avery done this horrible deed , anyone that is not suffering from brain rot would realize Avery had access to a car crusher and a smelt right there on the property. He would have placed Teresa's body in the Rav4 and then used the fork lift to place the Rav4 into the crusher and demolish it and then use the fork lift to place the Rav4 with Teresa's body in it , into the smelt to totally destroy any evidence.. Can anyone think of any possible sane reason Avery wouldn't have crushed and smelted the car and her body ? There is no way a man that is about to become very wealthy would risk his freedom to do such a horrible deed. You could even see in his first interview while He was in Crivitz that Avery was completely baffled and taken aback about the events being explained to him. It's also pretty obvious the Manitowoc Sheriffs dept. had a tap put on Avery's phone long before they were gave permission by the court to do so. That is how someone knew Halbach would be at Avery's the day that she was there and took sick advantage of that knowledge.

@rj doggman You're incorrect. He settled out of court for $400,000. Most of it would be paid to his lawyers.
He didn't crush it because he would of had to prep the vehicle first and that takes time (about 3-4 hours). Also his brother Earl was using the skid steer and Chuck was in the garage. He couldn't have prepped it in the garage and used the skid steer to move it to the crusher without his brothers knowing and eventually testifying that a blue rav 4 was crushed that day. He originally told his brothers that Teresa never came by, so obviously he knew his brothers would not lie for him. He also did not know whether authorities would show up right away or not. It would be damning evidence if he's in the middle of prepping the rav 4 or crushing it when the police show up. So he blends the rav 4 with other junked cars, keeps the key and waits for the heat to turn down so that he can prep and crush it or just dump it somewhere at a safer time. A safer time would be a time where his brothers would not be around and definitely not while there is an active search being conducted for Teresa.
Because he thought he was untouchable and that nothing would ever happen to him due to the exoneration.

There was a lot of evidence that proved he was framed. So many! They just didn’t want to pay 38 million dollars. Her boyfriend should’ve been looked at and also the man she lived with. It’s obvious they’re leading Averys nephew. Why was he convicted? Jurors went into the case already convicting him since day one. The cops were proved to be doing wrong things and still they trusted the police department. The police department that had already wrongfully convicted him, knowing they were wrongfully convicting him. How could they trust that police department? How could they be like “that cop makes sense”...?

One of the biggest things that absolutely baffles me about Steven Avery's first case is that the Police did not investigate any other leads from the get go just like his false imprisonment case, including a former ex boyfriend with no alibi and open access to the crime scene, Bobby Dassey with violent death porn addiciton and access to murder and Scott Tadych who also had access and gave the weirdest recollection of events. Beyond reasonable doubt smh. Kenn Kratz life went to hell after this, Scott Tadych had unreasonable hatred towards Steven during post conviction, Bobby Dassey gave a very guilty reaction when Zellners team quizzed him about his harddrive.
All that and More Bobby dassey left to go hunting right after she left, and he changed his story many times

Here's the problem with that. If the ex did it , then you have to believe that the law enforcement set it up and the ex did it since there's avery's dna, and blood in the Rav4 and the key in his house, and the ashes in his fire pit etc. It's much more likely that Avery did it.

I don't believe it would take 50 people......only a handful. I don't necessarily believe he was framed. But I think there was enough suspicious behavior by the police, who weren't supposed to be involved, to give me reasonable doubt. Along with a few other things.
Halbach was the only photographer for the Auto Trader and there is nothing at all suspicious about Steven calling Teresa to confirm time she is coming.
How can you not be suspicious that he used private number to call before she came but later after her supposed death he purposefully called her phone without private number ... its quite suspicious that he's manipulating the phone records for some purposes to hide his identity and to create an excuse pretending he "had no idea" she's dead by calling her phone right after her supposed death time ...

At the end of the day, if he did do it, he would know the cops would come to him eventually and all he had to do was show them his phone with his outgoing calls. He gains nothing by removing the caller ID, if anything, it makes him look more suspicious.
Maybe he enabled his number to be recognised so that she would see it, recognise it and either answer or call him back, after being late and not answering it so many times. For every 'suspicious' inference that can be drawn, there is an equal and often greater 'innocent' inference that can directly counter it.

No, he's not. How would he know where the cells came from? How would he know the cells came from sweat? By looking at the latch? There's no lab test which tests for sweat. He is deliberately saying sweat (which would have cells) because he wants people to believe you can't plant sweat. He has no idea where the DNA came from, sweat, saliva, dead skin or the forensic investigator's gloves - which he didn't change after touching Avery's car. Kratz is lying when he says sweat.

This case is all about what's missing.....Not so much what the documentary missed out, but the fact there is no actual evidence where it should be abundant; why is there no blood splatter in the garage, why is there no blood on the bullet, why is there no DNA on the bed where Teresa Halbach was supposedly raped and stabbed, why are there no marks on the bed where the restraints were, why is there no DNA from Teresa Halbach on the key, why is there no DNA from Teresa Halbach on the hood latch of her own car...and I could go on.
The law requires that guilt is proven BEYOND ALL REASONABLE DOUBT, now whether you think they did it or not, I don't see how anyone could argue that there is 0% chance that someone else could have been involved. Particularly so in the case of Brandon Dassey, where there is zero physical evidence.
The family of Teresa Halbach, the accused, and the public, deserve to know the truth, and there is just too much doubt around these convictions for most people to feel completely satisfied that justice has been served.
It's sad that we probably won't find out what happened to Theresa, but this case is as fishy as can be. Just the fact that according to the DA's arguments, Avery did horrible things to Theresa in his room and no DNA was found there. Do you know how meticulous you have to be to kill someone and leave no evidence? And there's the fact that they didn't find a single drop of blood on the garage where he supposedly dismembered her. A garage which is full of small items and is not clean. The police just found the perfect scapegoat because the lawsuit was coming.

Especially if you believe Brenda's version of Theresa being brutally raped in the bedroom. There would be all manor of evidence/dna. For instance, human bone fragments were found in the burn pit, and some if the victim's possessions were found in a barrel just steps away from Avery's front door.

He called her because he had dealt with her before. I like to deal with the same people when doing business. Steven Avery has been through an investigation and the system before. He knows what evidence is. He would know how to get rid of evidence. None of this makes sense at all. Why on earth would he murder her and then leave her charred remains in his own property? That's pretty stupid! especially for someone who knows how an investigation works.
I can think of a lot of reasons why he would kill her. Maybe sexual gratification? Maybe he is pissed for being blamed for the first murder and wanted to lash out because he thought he was smart enough to getaway with murder. Keep in mind this is the same guy who doused a live kitten with gasoline and threw it in a bonfire alive. You can even say there was no reason why he did that but I would say he is sadistic, that's a reason! Also the fact that 2 women made complaints that they were raped by him (I think one of them was his young niece) and he also told another inmate that he fantasizes about a rape dungeon. Of course he knows alittle about investigations but you have to realise, he isn't the most sharpest tool in the shed and you can't say that he knows more than the police and forensics department. He probably read somewhere that he could get away with murder by burning all the DNA away but didn't realise that forensics had improved quite abit since then.

It's not really relevant that some of the evidence was left out of the documentary. If the fact that the police tampered with the blood sample or only found the key to the RAV4 on their seventh search raises a reasonable doubt, then Avery should go free. It doesn't matter that there was a mountain of evidence. Reasonable doubt is reasonable doubt. There were dozens of questions explored in the documentary that raise reasonable doubt.
That's not even to mention the misconduct of the police and prosecution team in this case. Does the fact that there was a mountain of evidence against Avery mean that the Constitution does not apply and that the police no longer need to conduct themselves in a manner that respects human rights and ensures that justice is done?
Ken Kratz knows (or should know) all of these things. In most jurisdictions he would have faced a professional disciplinary hearing for the way he conducted the prosecution in this case. His investigation was biased and his methods were improper. He can try to explain it away by blaming the documentary all he wants, but he oversaw a travesty of justice.

Manitowoc County officials and local law enforcement HATED the Avery family for many years, even BEFORE Steven rightly won a $36,000,000.00 lawsuit, which basically exposed them for their ineptness and corruption. He probably wiped all the DNA off Theresa's key and his own was the one left. How did his sweat get under her hood latch when he told cops he never touched her car or drove it. Brendon's "confession" is all over the fucking place and I think he was coerced into making up details. However, some of what he said was true. Its all a big mess. If he got another trial he would be found guilty again no doubt.

Season two definitely opens your eyes more on the evidence presented and more that wasn’t presented; such as Bobby Dassey’s fetish with bondage, rape, death, and beheading found on his hard drive or the fact that the RAV4 had been seen on November 3rd one day prior to being seen or “found” on the Avery property by a trucker who just so happened to run into the cop who called the plates in later that day which we seen in the first season of “MAKING A MURDERER” when asked if he was reading the plates off as if he was in front of the vehicle he denied, but this trucker coming forward definitely makes more sense of what we seen unfold. Definitely a lot of questions that need addressed, but the system yet again is failing those it was supposed to protect.

Agreed to pop in and out in 15 min.; Checking in with dispatch upon getting to the Avery's junk yard and trailer homes. The company also had another job appt. After for her near. by too. As the Averys' yard was 40 acres with two trailer homes and its own private Avery Road with drive she headed out . When she got to Avery Road she called dispatch and let them know she'd be photographing quickly as leave for the next appt. Terresa indicated she saw Steven by his doorway and she started photographing which was seen by Brenden Dassey and his bus driver as he was left off from school.. The driver saw Brenden go to his door as usual . As she was leaving she noticed that Terresa had stopped photographing and was walking to Steven by his door. The driver left. Meantime as Brenden was headed to his door, his brother Bobby was looking out and saw Terresa photographing and headed to the door. He also saw Brenden and as Bobby Dassey was leaving to go hunting he saw his brother eating a snack and settling down to play video games. Bobby then left. Terresa did not leave and to her next appointment. A neighbor later noticed an unusually high and hot therefore bon fire behind Averys' barn. He was accross the field on the county road passing in his truck behind the barn. He noticed because the Avery's didn't burn. Often and never had he seen a fire so high there in the burn area. He gazed over to make sure the barn wasn't on fire and saw Avery . He also noticed the fire went to on and on which was unusual too. Later Terresa bone fragments were found there and near there plus get other possessions. Eventually her wood / limb covered Rav 4 .was found. It was obvious by the. Way the wood was around it was placed to hide the vehicle . Days later Brenden confessed and implicated Steven. and himself.

If there had been a professional investigation with cordononing of the crime scene from the get go, experts bought to the scene/forensics, all venues amd *suspects* investigated, interviewed and illuminated etc etc (as in a proper job),... maybe we would all know that now? Re-watching MaM. Question: did the investigators find Avery’s fingerprints in the RAV4 on the steering wheel, dashboard, gear shift? Also, if he did park the vehicle where it was later found, wouldn’t he have wiped the key and left it in the car?
Also, the narrative the prosecutors used in the press conference, based on Dassey’s “confession” should have opened up a greater forensic investigation for blood and other body fluids, hair, prints, etc. which would have HAD to have still been present in the trailer.
I am not proud to be an American, to have served this country, protecting our constitution, and securing our freedoms and rights for 25 years in the Army, anymore. This case just sickens and saddens me horribly. Presumed innocence, reasonable doubt, willingness to turn turn a blind eye to clearly planted evidence, and entirely lacking evidence in other places...it’s not properly American. We’ve lost our way.
Sweat evidence under the hood is easily explained if the cops walk him over there to try to jar a confession or even taken from him and walked over on a rag or swab. The cops didn’t properly search the house the first SIX times? They removed this man from his residence and locked it down for a week or so, and people question how evidence could be planted? Already having a lawsuit against the town and police, no one thought it smart to bring in ONLY outside investigators and prosecutors? That after tons of questionnaires were looked at and only 1 person thought him innocent prior to his trial, that didn’t spur a change of venue?
As to his link to the lady...he found someone that would work in his price range, or saw someone needing work and decided to be a better person to her than others had been to him so he tried to keep her employed. Then after she’s missing they pull her phone records and see his number so boom...we can take care of the lawsuit and the investigation both with 1 stone.
Oh, and the cops on the hook for millions out of their pockets are also the ones that find essential evidence?
Then they essentially tortured a mentally challenged man for days with little sleep, little food and water, no bathroom breaks until he gives them the confession they want using words not common to his capability or personal dictionary...but the words and sentence fragments sound a lot like questions and statements the cops made while interrogating him.
This is sad. The Wisconsin Supreme Court or court of appeals should have tossed this one simply on prejudiced venue and lack of a possible fair trial. And then they should look at the evidence, including the tampered blood vial. This was way too easy and a slam dunk. Too much of a frame job. Just sad that in America you are no longer innocent until proven guilty, the cops and media hold your trial in the news while giving you no voice to combat it, that you can’t get a fair and impartial jury or judge, and really can’t get a clean investigation. Just sad days in America.

It was Avery's fresh, uncontaminated, blood that was found inside Teresa's car. AND he just so happened to cut himself a perfect, bleeding, wound on that day of all days.
Without a plausible/feasible explanation for how Avery's blood got in there, he did it. Avery is guilty.

There is not a drop of blood anywhere in the crime scenes. No finger prints anywhere in the car. We were told the victim was shot in the garage, but no blood was ever found there. Even a fool can see the travesty of the trial is beyond insanity.

Except the car was full of blood - both Avery's and Teresa's. And I wouldn't be surprised if Avery was wearing gloves - which he would later toss onto his fire.
And the kid testified that he helped Avery clean a small area of the garage floor that night with bleach, gas, and paint thinner. That would do a good job of cleaning the floor and destroying any residual DNA.
Before you take everything that stupid TV show tells you at face value, maybe find out why Avery was convicted.

It IS nonsense but they are not saying that the police did it. The current theory du jour is that Avery's other nephew Bobby Dassey and his brother in law Scott Tadych did it. Ludicrous. Avery did it and he is right where he belongs.
I don't believe that is what they are saying.....I think they are saying that someone else killed her, but the police believed it was Avery from the jump. Because they believed he was guilty, they felt it OK to plant evidence ( i mean if he raped, killed and burnt her body, he should go to prison.....and they knew it would be tough to prove since he had been falsely imprisoned before), and they also believe that because they focused on Steven from the start, they never really investigated anyone else. They always say that you don't frame someone you believe is innocent......they only do it to people they think are guilty. Based on my understanding, that is their beef with it all.

Mattydigs it's the open tape that is the problem. It is supposed to be retaped and initial after it is opend every time it is opend. So you can established a chain of custody. In this case it wasn't done and now no one knows who has been at that vile.

The cops searched Avery's house shortly after she went missing but failed to notice the blood soaked bed sheets that the police narrative suggested would be obvious due to the throat supposedly been cut and then strangled to death!
The motive was the fact that the insurance pay out of $36m would be reclaimed from the 2 policemen's personal wealth that caused his wrongful incarceration for the 1st 18 years. One of those became the head of the police department and the other was present prior to the key being found although the case had already been transferred to another police force so he had no business being there.
The actual murderer was probably known to these 2 corrupt cops. Ryan Hilligus lied when he said that he had found Theresa's day planner in her home although she never returned there before her murder. He deleted her phone messages so her mailbox would not report it was full

So who killed this poor woman? The cops? Or did they just find her charred corpse somewhere and say, "Hey, now we can beat his lawsuit! Then the assault charges (including the binding to the bed), his “confession” as to how the murder occurred (throat slitting and stabbing), etc. would have all been admitted and the soundly debunked shattering the prosecution. Video of the various interrogations of Dassey, including the vile Mike O’Kelly, would have been admitted, demonstrating Dassey’s unreliability as a witness and perhaps opening the door for an argument of coercion on the part of Manitowoc County police and DA in order to nail Avery and avoid a costly lawsuit/settlement.
