    This was tasteless. Why show them letters that would hurt them? Why ask them questions they would have to speculate on to answer? Plus, whether we like it or not people are found innocent or guilty based on what the State can prove. The State cut corners and railroaded Avery and his nephew. That is not acceptable. We have no idea of his guilt or innocence. However, they should have received a fair investigation and trial. It makes me think he was innocent. Do you really have to play so dirty to prove a guilty person is guilty?

      From Wiki:Photographer Teresa Halbach disappeared on October 31, 2005;
      her last appointment was a meeting with Avery, at his home on the
      grounds of Avery's Auto Salvage, to photograph a minivan that he was
      offering for sale. Her vehicle was found partially concealed in the
      salvage yard, and bloodstains recovered from its interior matched
      Avery's DNA. Investigators later identified charred bone fragments found
      in a burn pit near Avery's home as Halbach's.[15]
      Avery was arrested and charged with Halbach's murder on November 11. Avery maintained that the murder charge was a frameup, promulgated to discredit his pending wrongful conviction civil case. Although Manitowoc District Attorney Mark Rohrer ceded control of the investigation to neighboring Calumet County, Manitowoc sheriff's deputies participated in searches of Avery's trailer, garage and property, leading to charges of conflict of interest and evidence tampering.[16]
      In particular, Avery's attorneys discovered that a box containing a vial of Avery's blood, obtained as evidence in the 1985 case, had been unsealed, and a puncture hole was present in the stopper.[17] They speculated that the blood found in Halbach's car could have been drawn from the stored vial and planted in the vehicle to incriminate Avery. FBI technicians tested the blood recovered from Halbach's car for EDTA, a preservative used in blood vials but not present in the human body, and found none.[18]

      I agree, especially since it's the state that denied him the right to forge a relationship with his boys by imprisoning him falsely for their whole lives! These boys are not, cannot be, objective, most of what they "know" has been told to them by people other than their father. My heart breaks for them. They have all been so wronged by this satanic system.

IDK how they could have killed him and got away with it because hell , they couldnt even "set him up correctly " how would they pull off a murder.
      I know bein n jail has changed his character but I don't think he killed that woman. the prosecution didn't prove it to me.

    • @taylorpresley1989
      @taylorpresley1989 6 лет назад +6

      I Don't think at all he had anything to do with it. At the beginning I thought maybe the nephew on his own with how poorly it was covered up and out in the open. Yet after watching the detectives and his lawyer and the other guy force him to say they did it no way. Someone else did this and set him up and I can't believe the judge on those trials or the jury those days or the court system for not letting them do a retrial or even letting Avery get a jury out of the area. This man is again paying a price for someone else's crime & they need to actually look at people she knew close to her instead of lying about it that they did. Even the defense for the cops lied on dr Phil saying the key was found on the 1st search when it was stated several times in court it wasn't. It's all messed up

    Well, who else would have written the letters if not his wife? Really? Avery wouldn't have responded to those letters if he thought they were written by someone else. Anyway, the point is that if you are sitting in jail and are helpless to come to the rescue of your kids, you might say anything in your anger and hopelessness.
    I'm in my fifties and my handwriting has changed over the years. It is not the same as when I was 20.
    Concerning this video: these boys should not be making any comment about their dad. They don't even know him, and I pray that they get to know him. He didn't have a chance to be a father due to being in jail for 18 yrs (wrongly).

      My thoughts and they may be false is that his boys god forbid them , were approached with the offer of some monetary value , to sit down and do an interview and truly they had no right to be offered or accept such an offer . Pretty much anything the could say about their Dad was hearsay and speculative , clearly the majority of info they had about their Dad came from their Mother and she was a disgruntled ex-wife , I'm almost certain the stories she may have told them about their father was painted with an unflatering brush as many exes do

    why show them that one clip? those boys need to understand their father didn't leave them - he was grossly, unlawfully robbed of his family, his life by a perverted justice system. further, his 2nd trial was unbelievable, how they found him guilty without a doubt is beyond me .. the only 2 pieces of evidence that connected him to the crime - the key and his blood were both in doubt .. the cops that put him in jail the 1st time found the key and the vial of his blood had been tampered with .. apart from that - anyone could've committed the crime .. he just isn't capable of cleaning up all the blood his nephew invented, they didnt find a strand of her DNA in his house, nothing .. they ALWAYS find something when a vicious killing has taken place .. to scrub a house so well then leave his blood in her car is ridiculous - he could've crushed the car!! somebody needs to sit down with his sons and explain the facts .. or maybe they should just watch the docu!

Yet Steven never got into trouble while in jail all those years. And now, he is still staying out of the way of trouble. I would have more time added to my sentence if this was me. • @ChrisJ-mf7cj
      @ChrisJ-mf7cj 4 года назад

      Actually, since she has done her preinterview prep and research, already sat down with both to get a feel of how they want to go with the story or how they may feel or speak towards the topics...she is interviewing properly and to ensure they relay the feelings and thoughts they want to in order to clearly define their view, positions, and feelings. Most people who’ve not had experience talking to the public via “bright lights and cameras” will kind of lock up and either come across dumb sounding or ramble way off topic. She did what we are trained to do as journalists. And too..look at the way every single story is done by this show. They slant each one towards a certain person or agency they want you to hate or suspect, and push the victim onto a pedestal with flowery words and phrases, such as “beautiful, amazing, gorgeous, hard working mom of 2, lights up the room, loved by all hated by none, gave council to God and dried Jesus feet when he walked on water.” And their slant has been WRONG several times when the actual perpetrator was found out. Same as when they try the ambush questioning. Who’s to say that isn’t fake? Why do these people on this side get the benefit of looking their best and coming into a prepped pretty studio, but the other side is jammed up just getting back from town or headed out to do something or just waking up? It’s all sensational and Hensen style ambush journalism that mostly is for show. Just for knowledge of where I’m saying this or how, 25 years of broadcasting and print journalism, assignments editor, paper editor, and journalism instructor as well as advisor/spokesperson to several US and foreign officials and agencies. Now these guys will have received some media training in the Army which is required for a while now, but it’s seriously only an hour class or at most a 3 hour class and practical exercise per year. It gets cut if other basic Soldier skills classes need time such as calling in 9 lines, establishing hasty fighting positions, sector fires, calling for fire, detainee ops, etc. Not sure if she is a true mass media major, journalism major, PR and Advertising, or what her background is honestly, but this style of interview is one of the ground level blocks since you have an outline that you just need to guide people to fill in the blanks with as sound bites go. This style is one we say any half trained monkey can do as long as they are fed the right bananas. Most of the time, the journalist is the person that is in the background gathering footage and drawing up the outlines and researching and all, and the on camera talent is just a pretty face. Not sure if that’s the case here but it kind of seems to be like that with most other talents on this show. Like seriously, this show is a basic level high school or college production, with a god awful huge budget and premiere channel to air it.

A perfect example of everything that's wrong with the uman population. I don't think for a second steven avery is innocent of the second crime, however I'm intelligent enough to not judge victims of others crimes based on a small interview. And for people to call them retards is the same as attacking someone with say down syndrome as they do both have mental disabilities. The real retards are the shallow minded know it all idiots that judge these innocent people who have done nothing wrong. I absolutely agree hes innocent & at 1st I thought Brenden may be had something to do with it by himself with how poorly it was covered up & out in the open. Yet after watching those detectives & his own attorney force him to say these things no way. They need to go back & look at other people she actually knew because I don't believe at all that Avery did this either. Thinking the same thing his sister said he would admit to it by now like he did every thing else he's done wrong and like his son's says. He just spent 18 yrs innocent in jail, was about to get paid alot of money for it & know your being watched so why would he do that. Plus leave it all out there to be found so easily. He was set up no doubt by someone and I can't believe the judge, the system or the jury on those trials that day.

I myself was alienated from my father; my Mother would occasionally say negative things- it doesn't take much to realize as a child that you can't talk about Dad. But as an adult I saw clearly that she had forced her feelings onto me and I let go of the negativity and saw my parents as equals in my life. Bill & Steven, stand by your father even with all of his imperfections. Wasn't his life bad enough, have empathy. You are adults, don't tolerate people getting made at you for wanting to help your father ( i.e. your mother/step father...) be your own person.

  • @mewgiah8057

    This is so ridiculous. People all the time say “I’m gonna kill you if you” without meaning it. Context matters. His wife at the time was writing him letters, saying she was going to strangle and kill his children and commit suicide - because she couldn’t take it anymore. Steve would understandably be upset and angry. His own wife is wanting to divorce you while you are innocent, and is threatening to kill your sons.
    Let’s not forget Steve was 100% innocent at this time. He was serving 18 years for something he didn’t do. Trying to dredge up these letters as proof he could be a killer is absolutely ridiculous. At worst, it’s unethical the way this news network removes the context.

She has a show were she talks to children of serial murderers and has them meet with victim families or survivors as if the killer's kids owe some sort of apology or explanation to the victims families and survivors. I don't know of any case where a victims family or survivor held the killers kids accountable anyway.
