I stumbled on your channel last week and I'm so glad I did. I also work in the corporate space and have a brilliant office space but I've never been happy with my desk setup. You have given me some great ideas on how to improve it.
I wouldn't call any of this particularly 'budget' (unless you are really into your tech!). I have a brilliant Lenovo monitor for £70 I bought as a student and most companies can now send you a decent keyboard/mouse/laptop stand if you are a remote employee! I also use the Mokin dongle to connect everything (around £20). If anyone's watching this for ideas - you really don't need to spend more than £100 on a decent monitor. :)
Hey Abi! Appreciate there are more budget options, but I tried to create a really stunning setup that Beth would want to keep long term, and the monitor was specifically chosen in collaboration with ASUS because Beth travels with work and can actually take that one with her - you could take other monitors, but they would take up most of a suitcase! That meant striking a balance between not spending loads, but also still finding decent quality items. Lots of these items are more budget versions of the stuff in my setup, and worth every penny in my opinion! But you are absolutely right that you can pick up a decent monitor for much cheaper 😊
Hey there! As a fellow tech enthusiast, I highly recommend checking out the HOTO Compressed Air Capsule for your desktop setup. It offers powerful vacuuming and blowing capabilities, perfect for keeping your workspace spotless. It's compact, versatile, and comes with multiple tubes and filters for various cleaning tasks. Plus, its brushless motor and long-lasting battery make it a reliable tool. Definitely worth considering!
Hey {{3}}, as a fellow tech enthusiast, I highly recommend checking out the HOTO Compressed Air Capsule. It's a game-changer for keeping your desk and living spaces clean. With its powerful vacuuming and blowing capabilities, it's perfect for maintaining a spotless environment. Plus, the reasonable price compared to other brands makes it a great choice. Give it a try!
if you use the big monitor for doing everything just set it up as your main monitor and put it right in front of you so your neck doesn't work too much
700 pounds is “budget friendly”?… Love you channel! Beth 6:20 , I’m with you!!, cannot type with round buttons and the K380, although very popular, Logitech would have sold more of those if it had regular square keys
I love an ergonomic keyboard/mouse. I am committed to my Logitech ERGO K860 keyboard and MX Master 2S Mouse. So a splurge on the budget - but keeping my hands happy!
Great video per usual. I have to mention the type of pen matters a ton to me. I bounce from typing to writing often and found the feel of a pen matters a great deal. I’m loving the white uni-ball ONE pens. Cheap and great feel! Oh and a metal clip that wound break off when I’m fidgeting.
loved the video but i wouldn’t describe this a thrifty looks like a lot was new. i think a cool idea might of been was 2nd hand only. best bit of the video though is Beth’s analysis of that round button keyboard. I have suggested that to many people and keyboard and the loved it
Great video Liam!. I needed a different setup for my computer science/ cybersecurity work and needed ideas away from my gaming pc. This video game me alot of ideas, and you 100 percent got a new subscriber
if the video wasn't sponsored by Asus ,Beth would NOT spend £370 on a monitor. hp msi and benq have very nice slim 24 inch moniitors you can carry around.
I have a larger version of the Logitech keyboard (K780) and I absolutely love it. Really easy to switch between my work laptop, personal Mac and even my ipad when it's in use. Great choice, shame Beth didn't like the smaller version!
*Him*: "I use 2 monitors as a lawyer" *Me*: "I use 4 monitors as a bum" I need to get my priorities straight. 😢😢😢😢 Good video! I love these budget desk builds ❤ i think i might try that monitor light you bought, its sleek lookin.
Hey, thanks for your comment! I'm glad to hear that you're finding Liam's productivity videos effective. In terms of your desktop setup, have you considered the HOTO Compressed Air Capsule? It's a compact device with powerful vacuuming and blowing capabilities, perfect for maintaining a spotless environment. It's reasonably priced compared to other brands and offers great features like high-quality filters and efficient storage. It's definitely worth checking out! Let me know if you have any other questions. Happy optimizing!
Hey there! As a fellow tech enthusiast, I highly recommend checking out the HOTO Compressed Air Capsule for your cleaning needs. It offers powerful vacuuming and blowing capabilities, making it great for maintaining a spotless desktop. The price is reasonable, and the quality is top-notch. It's definitely worth considering! Let me know if you have any more questions. Happy cleaning!
I feel like you should choose bits of this setup and gradually buy those, and you can obviously swap out elements of this setup for other budget options! I’d prioritise a monitor of some kind, keyboard and mouse 😊
😂😂 Lots of the items are optional, obviously you could choose cheaper items, but this stuff is all good quality that I think will last and is worth investing in, but at a cheaper price than lots of the items in my setup!
Beth is like me - ‘if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it’ …😂 I see your 10yr old keyboard and raise you a Nokia 8210 and a Sony Minidisk player 😂😂😂 (Still, got my banana phone kicking around - yup, am that old!!!)
Hey! Appreciate there are more budget options, but I tried to create a really stunning setup that Beth would want to keep long term. This is anything but budget. I'd have said budget would have been £100 - including an actual desk from ikea haha! Maybe £150 at a push. Not £300+ on a mid portable monitor alone
I would recommend iclever Keyboard of she wants an Chiclet keyboard. They are around $30--$40 and great alternative for Mx master or Apple keyboard. Their Service is great if you have any issues with keyboard within their warranty period which is 2 years, they will give you a full refund. You dont even have to send back the damaged keyboard back to them. They are just happy to refund fully and you can buy a new one or other keyboard of your choice.
The Monitor is terrible. Horibble low end spec. Only good things is that it has a battery and can take it with you. The Mouse and keyboard ... off i think i would rather just use the laptop keyboard at that stage. Evrrything was really weirdly specced in this. Her main monitor if off to the side for some reason, Who knows why? Just a terriblel setup. Could have done a dual monitor setup, Much better keyboard and mouse with a much nicer desk for around half the cost. Sorry to be so negative but seem like you guys took like 10 mins to pick out all these stuff and just picked up the first things you saw on amazon or something
I really appreciate your videos, but am disappointed with this one. The Asus monitor is a very poor choice for most people in my opinion. I think there are hundreds of better options, especially on a budget. It feels like you guys were looking for utility options, even if they are hardly suitable for everyday use. I haven't seen the screen myself but full hd is pretty outdated in 2023. With these monitors you can see the pixels, which is a distinct disadvantage compared to 4k monitors. Especially letters are less sharp and don't look natural. 24 inches are ok, but too small for a desktop monitor. Conversely, with this size and 2.8 kilos of weight, it is too bulky and heavy to use on the road. You would have to travel with a car. It feels like you guys sold out for advertising here and didn't produce a real budget video.
Liam, do you take ADHD medication? Your voice sounds raspy, similar to how the dry throat from methylphenidate use makes people sound. Could you please do a video on this? It would really help to reduce stigma.
Beth is the secret to all of Liam's most successful videos. Beth please be in more videos. Your badass! :)
From Beth: “THANK YOUUU!! I keep telling him… 😝😝”

@@liam.porritt I love how respectful this reply is even when expressing contradicting opinion, I'm baffled, lol kudos to you! hoping the best!
£500 is about $640 American dollars... I love the desk setup but wow, I'd consider it an indulgence!
Liam, I have been watching your videos since 2019. You are such a big inspiration. Hope to see more from you. Keep it up, man 😁
Thank you so much!!

380 is a robbery for a 1080p 23 inch monitor lol
if you use the big monitor for doing everything just set it up as your main monitor and put it right in front of you so your neck doesn't work too much
I love a good desk set up.
Struggling to find a good standing desks in India though. Most of them are so wobbly when you stand up and work.
700 pounds is “budget friendly”?…

Amazing video, Liam! Thanks for sharing!
Cheers from Brazil!
cool, i have bought the Seenda keyboard and mouse combo and the monitor light bar.
my budget...... i do like the 50/50 cork wipeboard so its on my 2024 shopping list. thank you both and have a safe xmas and new yr
Love those strip lights!
I bought that 'round buttons' Logitech keyboard and honestly, they are awesome!
Brilliant
Hi Liam and Beth! Greetings from Singapore! Nice desk you have there 🇬🇧
I have the logitech keyboard 😂 Love the round buttons 🥹🙈

Excelent video. great ideas for desk.
Just bought a Menos backpack, one of the best investments I've made in a while!

Hey man. I really like your videos. Very visual as well, and great video editing.
I agree with Beth. Round buttons is a big NO!
The thing that makes possibly the most significant improvements to a home office is keeping it tidy. You do that that's half the battle.
I have a larger version of the Logitech keyboard (K780) and I absolutely love it. Really easy to switch between my work laptop, personal Mac and even my ipad when it's in use. Great choice, shame Beth didn't like the smaller version!
I have a larger version of Beth.
my happiness is when my desk is clean and tidied❤
Thank you. I'm wondering from where you got the desk mat.
Amazing video! Really enjoyed watching it :)
Awesome vid and great setup
Where did you get the desktop image (the mountains)?
round button is valid argument tho
Good miss on the K380, they fall to pieces quicker than that bloke that gets caught in the lasers in the resident evil movie
Opting for the keyboard as I'm feeling a new one... let's see how it goes! And actually I agree re round button gate!!! 🤣
*Him*: "I use 2 monitors as a lawyer"
*Me*: "I use 4 monitors as a bum"
I need to get my priorities straight.
😢😢😢😢

I really like the plant on the desk. Could you tell me, which plant that is? 😂 I think a bamboo, but which exact one?
I am a huge fan of your work liam how early, such a massive life changer and inspiration for me!!
I would use the laptop as the second monitor personally. But otherwise a nice setup 👍
Financeing or UHC Ucard low-income senior setup delivery etc
What tips does anyone have for building a good desk set up for a uni student?
I feel like you should choose bits of this setup and gradually buy those, and you can obviously swap out elements of this setup for other budget options! I’d prioritise a monitor of some kind, keyboard and mouse 😊
Which camera u r using in this video or which lens❤
Once Selore offers a Thunderbolt dock I’m in
What is the macbook version ?
£1000 😵I'll help Beth with a budget desk setup next time. The monitor is cool though, I like the kickstand
😂😂 Lots of the items are optional, obviously you could choose cheaper items, but this stuff is all good quality that I think will last and is worth investing in, but at a cheaper price than lots of the items in my setup!
nice ;)

Where is the desk from
Doesn't like the k380? I'm not sure she's a keeper
I have the cost at about 700 dollars. This isn’t a bad setup. I am curious to know what you would pick as the most essential 5 items
Why have the larger monitor as the secondary in the corner?
Setup!!!!
this is absolutely not a budget desk setup 😂 but the desk looks very nice at the end, good choice 🥰

A rare desk tour that isn't a content creator's setup. Thanks.
The goat

1:12 might want to blur the address on the letter.
The messy table had more character in my opinion.

l like the desktop before actually
This was a wonderful experience. I think it was great to see what you could for 700 pounds.
Love the tips. I was looking for a docking station ❤
me personally i would switch the laptop and monitor, but thats just me
Lets do a budget upgrade with no budget item 😅
Wft a 69 pound deskmat :D in a BUDGET setup ... just get a cheap on an invest in a good keyboard/ mouse..
Just saying but if the monitor is the primary why is it in off to the side . That don’t seem very ergonomic.
why don't you centre the monitor ?
Beth usually does sit at the desk facing the monitor 😊
@@liam.porritt understandable but why, that isn’t ideal ergonomic-wise
you dont like the sound of mechanical keyboards?!?! 😲
😂😂😂
how is a setup excluding the computer cost more then £1000 and you call it budget. I might be broke that's not budget.
AWESOME setup tho
Not really budget is it 😂
Those monitor light bars are really not great. I think they look great so people buy them.
I’ve tried them and got rid of them, not useful for me
So another advertisement basically
No sound ?
I don’t think it makes sense to spend more money on your desk mat rather than your keyboard and mouse but maybe it’s just me

Budget? Really?
Poor neck with this angle for second monitor
Didn’t even talk about the actual wooden desk you’re using☹️
… unless you watch to the end! 😂
Your budget set up cost me 1lakh rupees in india 😐😐
This isn't budget friendly by any means.
budget? please change your caption. theres no budget in here HAHAHAHAA
Budget?? Really??
"budget"
your gf is cute
