- Step by step #SewAlong tutorial for McCalls #M8149 a denim skirt. I have made this skirt before in non stretch corduroy but I felt that I needed a stretch denim for this one!

These change (alllll the time) but to give you a reference on my measurements since we are sewing: I am 5’5” and my measurements are as follows, upper bust 44”, full bust 45.5”, waist 39”, hip 46.5”

I'm so glad you did this as a sew along-I have had this pattern for some time now, but was scratching my head over the zipper fly thing-very helpful!
Glad it's helping. I will say I would have tackled it a different way, BUT I'm trying to stay true to the pattern so you can follow along with the printed instructions.

Hi! Thank you for this tutorial. I'm in the process of making this skirt. I noticed when marching the side front to back, @ 36:22 your skirt side back piece is longer than the front side. My skirt sides ended up the same, about 1" off. How did you resolve it?
Hi, I just cut the extra 1” off, try it on first before you do do. I knew from making it before it was going to be extra long on me and after I cutting the extra 1” length off the back that I still had 2” for a hem fold. So it worked for me. Let me know how it goes for you. After I hemmed it, it hits right at my knees.

Hi Linda, if you watch ALLLLL the way to the end of the video, there are pictures of me wearing the skirt. I suspect RUclips added an ad right before it.
