    Hola! I just found your channel and I like it a lot, specifically the sew along. I feel good now because I don’t wash my fabrics before sewing 😀. We are a practical team.😂. Thank you a bunch for sharing with us your sewing experiences and God bless you!

    Found your channel a few days ago and loving it already. Dying to sew with knit fabric but having a hard time getting it to behave lol! Alex if you love working with knits, food for thought, Style Arc has a lot of patterns made for knits. Looking forward to more content from you and sew alongs. Thank you ❤

      Thanks for mentioning it, right now I have a sew along to get done for Minerva but its for a jacket in the most beautiful fabric they sent. I will most likely begin working on that in about two weeks or so because the weather will change and it will be nicer outside. I have never tried Style Arc before. I’m so leery of trying new indie designers lately unless its thru a pattern test because some blocks fit me and others just require way too many adjustments. They have some beautiful designers though! Tea from Crumpets Tea and Sewing just put up a video for a new dress they just released last week. It is beautiful!

    McCall's M7122 makes a great nightgown. I wasnt finding anything in any of the pattern books for nightgowns...I spent weeks looking on-line and local fabric pattern sites....had the fabric already. It was a crazy fabric that I wanted to make a nightgown with that was just above the knee. My sister and I were planning a two week green biking, hiking, transit holiday only.... Holiday, Southern Ontario wine country (no rental car) rented bikes instead. It was a great GREAT holiday. But I wanted a WOW nightgown for those evenings on the deck in the airbnb or the fireplace with glasses of wine etc. Finally spotted this pattern. And it was super fast and easy. In fact I was madly sewing away with my luggage at the door, calling out for me to hurry up "you'll miss the plane" it was perfect. I've made couple more since just upsided to one size up. The cap sleeve version. It looks great with a wine glass in hand.

    I loved hearing about your favorite knit patterns! I'm motivated to try out the McCalls 8058 and 7967. Thanks for sharing!

      I have been wearing M7967 on repeat. As I mentioned in the video I use the sleeves from M8058 because I'm just not a pouffy sleeves kind of girl... actually I would look like a football player so not big sleeves for this girl. But I highly recommend both.

    Loved seeing your pattern choices! The only one I currently have and totally love is the Adrienne blouse! I’m actually stitching up my 2nd one today 😉 Now I’ll have search out a few of your picks. The Julie jacket really interests me, especially because No lining! Love your videos, you have very pleasant voice and great style. 👏🙂

    Thanks for your knit pattern roundup. I recommend the Sybil Skirt by Love Notions. The pattern has 7 skirt variations. It's an easy pattern to sew and gives beautiful results. The instructions are great too.

    Thx for the terrific video. What do you think of the waist band for M6966? I struggled and next time I will make a casing.

    • @MassonLifestyle

      I think it depends on the length. The fabric starts getting heavy and it can just be there for “ show” vs it’s intended purpose which is hold the skirt up. I do it all the time we’re I even make the elastic wider so it can hold more

      Knits forever and stretch wovens are my best friends. Wearing a knit top and stretch denim skirt right now. SO much easier to fit and just wear on an every day basis.

    I’ve not made that particular Jalie pattern, but I have made many of their skating dress patterns. My only issue with Jalie patterns ( skating dress), is their size exclusivity.

    • @MassonLifestyle

      Now that I think about it, I made the largest size on that pattern. It was large on me but not that much. They could do better on that sizing for sure.

    Been soaking up your channel. I am making the cardigan view A of Mccalls 6996. I had to shorten the front of View A when cutting out( to have enough fabric). Does that require for me to shorten the upper back also ? Hope this makes sense. New to garmet sewing after about a 30 year break!! Love your channel.

    • @MassonLifestyle
      @MassonLifestyle  Год назад

      Hi Jennifer, welcome back after a 30 year break! If you do cut the front pieces to shorten them you will also have to shorten the back pieces by the same amount. There has to be a shorten and elongate line on the pattern pieces. Make sure you are cutting there... I suspect its below the armholes. I can't tell from the line drawings if you have a neckband pattern pieces for this ( I don't have the pattern in front of me.... I don't believe you do), BUT in the event that you do... then you would have to cut that length too.

      @@MassonLifestyle Thanks again …this made sense….that is what I thought. One last question…McCalls is directing me to cut two pieces of seam binding For Stay. Joanne’s didn’t have any of this product. The woman looked at the pattern and felt I would be ok without it.
      It is a knit fabric. I have sewn several tee shirts recently with knits….never asked for this. Do you think it is ok if I don’t use the seam binding?

    • @MassonLifestyle
      @MassonLifestyle  Год назад

      @@jenniferrakes8833 I suspect that is for the shoulders so they don't stretch. If you don't have any seam binding (I've never seen it in Joann's to tell you the truth), you can also use clear elastic I use the 3/8" wide that you use for swimwear OR you can also use double satin ribbon. You just want something that will not let your shoulders stretch over time. Put it right by the seam at the shoulders.
