Honestly I'm still so impressed with how *good* the pixel art is in this game. Like springtrap looks absolutely insane, even when he's walking, absolutely my favourite of the bunch. So much personality conveyed in every character. Must've taken ages to make all this art
23:30 In the book there was no secret afton room instead Oswald finds his dad at the bottom of the pit unconscious i think this is what the animations could be meant for
Wow, it makes lot of sense now, great addendum man! I wonder if these changes could imply that the game is not non-canon as the book, or if the books (at least some) are now canon, once the mimic is canon.
@@TwerpGuy I think they made this change for the gameplay like imagine Oswald randomly finding his dad in the pit on the 5th night in the book it was more explained but you can't really do that in a game
22:13 Mike’s name couldn’t have been Mark at any point in development, considering the fact that Into The Pit is based on a book of the same title. In the book, at least from what I remember, the character is indeed called Mike. I don’t see why they would feel the need to change his name for the game, only to change their minds last minute.
@@heveltherock Actually, that makes sense. I never thought about that. I always knew the “saving the children” gimmick was never in the book. There’s only like two nights in the original story. But yeah, it’s cool they decided to incorporate his friends in there.
I'm the most sad about the close up animation of Oswald's dad not being used. Would've made the scene alot more intense to vitness it from first person.
I loved how they used Golden Freddy. No godlike powers, no hidden lore, just an unused suit in the back. I know that lore can be fun to solve, I love lore a lot, but especially with the FNAF community, maybe all we need is a one-off adventure like Into the Pit.
Wow, it’s fascinating to see how the game evolved from its original SNES concept! The unused sprites and early designs are really cool. Also, a Super Nintendo cartridge version would’ve been epic. Thanks for diving into all these details!
The hidden door thing would have made a bit more sense with Oswald sneaking in, the usual cutscene plays out and then Oswald is forced to use the vent to get out. Because the final playthrough's narrative is a bit wonky. Oswald goes in via vent, then hides in the vent, gets out of the vent, and now has to go back in again. It feels more like someting that could use a bit of polish for a smoother flow of narrative.
My favourite animatronic is Funtime Freddy, I just really like how unique his design, voice and personality is. All the sister location animatronics are meant to be sympathetic except Freddy, that’s probably the reason he’s the only animatronic you can’t shock. Edit: he said to comment your favourite animatronic, not just your favourite Into The Pit animatronic.
If you haven’t read any of the stories, I would highly suggest reading “Count the Ways”- iirc, Funtime Freddy is the “big bad” in that one and is like,, super sadistic and crazy? Not sure how to describe it but it’s a great read
My favorite in this game is probably Freddy, the fact that most people don't really understand what his mechanic is on their first playthrough reminds me of the crazy ways people tried to explain certain parts of how he acts in Fnaf 1. I think it fits him to be less predicable and more confusing than the others, even if he's not much of a threat.
Balloon Boy might be one of the most hated characters, but that’s exactly why he’s the best. His role forces you to face frustration and anxiety, which adds to the game’s intensity. While other animatronics directly attack, Balloon Boy messes with your strategy by taking your flashlight and leaving you vulnerable. His presence adds an extra layer of challenge that keeps players on edge. The fact that he gets under everyone's skin so much is what makes him so effective and memorable-he truly knows how to leave an impact.
I've been a big fan of Springtrap ever since learning that purple guy was inside. The idea of a killer refusing to die and inhabiting the suit they used to lure in their victims even after their excruciating death by its hand is super cool
Personally, I love Roxy's design. It's super sleek and I love the idea of a race car driver who's also self conscious about her appearance. And her relationship with Cassie in Ruin? Perfection.
Nightmarionne in both design and concept is terrifying to me. Being essentially a stand-in for the concept of death is so cool to me and it makes them my favorite animatronic. Brightening up his jumpscare screen and seeing those eyes is just unreal. This thing isn't here to just end your nightmare, it's here to continue it.
My favorite animatronic is Flossing Bonnie. From the trailer. He does the floss. Flossing Bonnie isn't in the game. He's gone. He's sad. (I want an SNES version too :()
Instead, Chica flosses in the final game. It's part of her dance cycle the first time you see her on the stage in the past, but she cycles between that and waving her arms above her head.
23:40 Near the end of the Into the Pit story Oswald digs through the ball pit and finds his dad in it, unconscious. This is probably part of one of the original endings. As for my favorite animatronic, probably Nightmare Fredbear. He's so big that it's scary, which is pretty cool.
Apparently there is an unused cutscene which is similar to the ending where Spring Bonnie is still alive and kills Jeff. It shows Spring Bonnie tangled in the net before his eyes light up and it cuts to black as we hear him laugh. The file name for this ending seems to be Cine_PIZ_Night5_05_TrueEnding_BonnieAwake So it seems like either there was plans for a 6th ending or this was an early version of what becomes the ending where Spring Bonnie kills Jeff This cutscene can be found in this video ruclips.net/video/HIsYDK8JJn8/видео.html
19:26 The secret door being there also lines up with the overhead map of the pizzeria. There's an odd indent behind the Golden Freddy room which almost looks big enough to house it's own room, which would help square off the building.
My favorite animatronic is El Chip, he doesn’t attack, he’s not possessed, he doesn’t have the rotting corpse of a child shoved inside his torso, he’s just a silly little mexican animatrónico
This is, in my opinion, the best FNAF game style. It is just such a refresher from the 3D graphics and how the gore was toned down on the best animatronic Springtrap.
I believe my favorite is Security Puppet. It's just a really cool design, i wish we got to see more of them as an actual animatronic rather than a decorative piece / mini-game.
0:50 I say my favourite is plush baby (I know weird choice) but like it some what lore relevant, it also super creepy and kinda cute (to a lessser extent) lol
At this point I think my favourite animatronic is Circus Baby. There's just something so interesting about an antagonist who gives directions that the player almost always has no choice but to follow (Circus Baby's directions only ever get the player character "killed" when she gets them to go to the scooping room in Sister Location. All other times in the games that she gives the player directions, what she tells the player to do is what you have to do in order to not get jumpscared and lose.)
My favorite animatronic is Withered Chica. Her imposing silhouette -her height and her arms spread out - really appeals to me. I’m also attached to her since Susie is the only MCI victim we’ve seen in-game. Her line in UCN - “I was the first. I have seen everything” just haunts me and makes me sympathize for all the victims. Also withered chica’s unhinged jaw is sick :p

With the amount of available sprites it's totally possible for a mod to make up some new mechanics from the early stages into a new version lmaoo, like seriously, a goddamn v0.5 stage within the original files and then v1 being the final release
The Yellow Rabbit is currently my absolute favorite in FNAF. I've only watched a Let's Play so far and haven't had the chance to play the game myself. Before 'Into The Pit,' it was definitely Montgomery Gator from 'Security Breach'.
