- This Maasai Mara Conservancy program, led by the Maasai people, has proven to be extremely successful. It provides an economic model that not only preserves the land, animals, and the Maasai way of life, but also offers the potential to significantly expand the protected areas. In total there are 24 conservancies that now work together under the Maasai Mara Conservancy. Only 7 had access to the tools and technology needed to track environmental conditions and generate carbon credits that can be sold to continue and expand this incredible program. We paid for an additional 7 power and weather stations, and committed to pay for 5 more, bringing the total to 19. Let's band together and raise the money to pay for the last five remaining conservancies together. We’re so close to getting something so important complete. While I 100% understand why someone would be upset at MrBeast’s allegations, I don’t feel that this frustration warrants this tremendous amount of hate on a channel which has changed countless lives. Sure, he’s made quite a few mistakes, and I’m not saying that what he did was okay; but we shouldn’t stop this non-profit from helping people in need. Who of us is reasonably able to do a fraction of the amount of good that the MrBeast Philanthropy channel crew has done?

Hey Beast Philanthropy, ecologist here. Great work supporting increasingly important conservation problems. I just wanted to bring to your attention some of the problems behind offering carbon credits. They are often heavily used by companies for intense greenwashing, while providing the company "justification" for still relying on fossil fuels/maintaining the same consumptive practices. To be clear, this conservation effort in Kenya is VITALLY important, but it doesn't remove the carbon in the atmosphere that credit is offering, it is simply preventing additional CO2 output. While it might not seem different, accepting donations instead of charging for credits from the companies would be an important framework shift by allowing the company to still get good PR, while also not fooling anyone that they are fixing our runaway greenhouse gas problem. Keep up the great work!

Industrial ecologist here. This is very well said. I also wanted to mention that the consumption of red meat is one of the primary drivers of climate change and change in land use. There is a very high chance that the agricultural companies buying out the Masai land are using it to grow feed for cattle, pigs, lambs, etc. Beast Burger is directly profiting from this process which makes this video seem a bit hypocritical to me. However, I still very much appreciate your efforts to increase quality of life for environmentally vulnerable groups!

I think his head is in the right place but the channel/company grew too fast and didn’t mature into the size it is now. When that happens you keep a small business mentality to cut corners and make things work instead of investing the time and effort into proper processes and procedures to reduce risk, harm and liability. If he listens to his critics, extracts the fundamental mistakes in judgement that lead to the complaints and makes his process more robust, he will rebuild his reputation.

2 things can be true. Beast can be extremely generous and contribute to some amazing philanthropic ventures.
He also could be difficult and misleading to work for and put contestants in unfair and dangerous conditions while hiring a literal SOer.

This guy is giving water to Africa, protecting wildlife, feeding people. He isn't exploiting workers at some space launch pad. If he is friends with someone who said some inappropriate things, of he has done a few things that were off-color, that is what it is. Go back and look at yourself in your teens and 20's. I was a bit shitty back then, but I'm 41 now, I know better, we all need time to grow. We shouldn't lose what we worked hard for just because of some mishaps. Beast is way better than I was at his age, a better person, It is a simple as that. Money corrupts, look at how much he has, look at what others have done when they have all that money, he has stayed relatively humble. I said RELATIVELY.
