  • This is a #SewAlong for Butterick #B6924 a camp shirt sewing pattern designed by Palmer Pletsch. This is part one which focuses on the front pocket, shirt fronts, back, back pleat, setting the yokes with the "burrito method" and working on the collar along with the collar facing.

    These change (alllll the time) but to give you a reference on my measurements since we are sewing: I am 5’5” and my measurements are as follows, upper bust 44”, full bust 45.5”, waist 39”, hip 46.5”

    I like the idea of using a bias strip for a back facing. One good reason to have more than one blouse pattern, I have passed this particular one up, but the idea can be implemented anytime. Thank for doing this!

    Thank you for inspiring me to hand stitch my collar binding. It has been awhile since I have hand sewed, and I forgot how relaxing hand stitching can be.

      There are things I will always ALWAYS slow down for and stitching that collar binding will always be on my list. It makes a nicer finish plus it’s in the back of your neck so you know nothing will bother you when you wear it.

    This is a great video that clearly shows each step of the process including the burrito method for yoke and shoulder seams. Year ago when I first learned this it was so confusing! Now with videos like yours, I’m sure new sewers can master the technique easily.

      I got it from Vogue Fabrics in Evanston, IL. I've looked thru their website to see if I can post a link but there is nothing on their site which leads me to believe it's part of their deadstock.
