Four things that legitimately impressed me this episode: - Arin following the instructions for 7milk - Dan voluntarily pouring 7milk onto their meals - Dan able to consume any of this at all - This is probably the CLEANEST that table has ever been in its lifetime
Speaking as a guy with similar stomach of doom, sometimes you just get over it and eat whatever food. You're gonna be on the toilet either way, might as well have fun sometimes.
Why is it that the most disgusting things Arin puts in his mouth are all edible? Like there are honestly a fair number of things I'd rather eat that aren't even _food._ Like I'd unironically eat a pad of post-it notes before I'd take a bite of this concoction.
This bit would be enhanced w/ quick screen insert of the recipes. Summer Salad Pie has : prepared tuna salad, lemon-flavor gelatin, tomato sauce, chopped celery, chopped onion, chopped pimiento-stuffed (green) olives; small amounts of Worcestershire sauce, Tabasco sauce and vinegar; all baked in a cheddar-cheese pie crust. My only explanation: everybody smoked cigarettes and they had no tastebuds left.
The real explanation is that putting everything in gelatin means the ingredients keep without rotting for way longer, meaning you can serve it for like a week without having to buy anything new. Post-war economy creates some abomination recipes
Electric refrigerators were all the rage when these recipes were created so things like gelatin molds and salads were a huge deal because they had no way to make them consistently before. You used to just buy a giant block of ice to keep things kind of cold for a little while
Plus there was an entire generation that lived though the Great Depression and WWII rationing: so the 1950s was the first time a huge chuck of the US population had ready and plentiful access to food. Also many of those people were service men that were exposed to food from places like France and the South Pacific without really understanding the culinary tradition. All these gelatin mold dishes are basically ghetto version of French Terrines and Aspic dishes.

I don't know what sent me more: "Slice and serve for a taste that reminds you of the war" "It's like the Shibuya Crossing of food" or Dan's expression after the 7up and milk.
I did that with Sprite and orange Hi C. My friend and I made it on accident and kept trying to remake it. I can't really remember what it tasted like, though. Creamsicle juice sounds strangely good
We did that too 3/4 Fanta and 1/4 milk and we loved it! Or maybe we loved it because we knew we weren't supposed to do that and could only do it when our parents were out of the house. I remember it tasted sort of like the Junifen medicin back when that tasted good.
I still recall the moment when I was a young child deciding I wanted the flavor/feel of a Milk+Coke drink. Turns out, what the guys did not have time to learn in the episode, is mixing Coke with Milk causes the milk to curdle within minutes. Probably much faster than most sodas since it has one of the more extreme carbonation reactions, and maybe why so many in the comments mention Pepsi+Milk since it tends to be a bit less violently carbonated and might take a bit longer to curdle. Honestly, just get one of the many Japanese milk powder based drinks, like Calpico or Calpis. They even make a Calpico soda to get that Milk+7up type taste in a shelf stable product.
The curdling is from the acid, not the carbonation. The same thing will happen if you mix just straight milk and orange juice too. There are ingredients and processes manufacturers use to stop that process when they combine casein protein and certain acids in certain ratios.
Yesss I’m so glad y’all finally made some sort of aspic. Those recipes in the 30’s-50’s were absolutely UNHINGED! Basically salads, entrees, and side dishes COMBINED INTO GELATIN MOLDS!

If you are perhaps wondering what happens if when you put milk into carbonated soda that makes it taste so terrible, (aside from the obvious.) The fizz of the soda comes from the carbonic acid in the water splitting up into CO₂ and H₂O over time. And carbonic acid is - as an acid - sour. By adding milk to sour water you've created a very convincing emulation of spoiled milk, so I'll believe in a heartbeat that the taste is, Not Great™. So Congratulations! You have mastered the potion: "Instant Spoiled Milk".

The only acceptable jello salad is the one my grandma made every Christmas that was just cubes of different colored jellos suspended in opaque jello. It was like 90+% jello and we looked forward to eating it every year. I'm making a trip home soon and I've already told my grandma that I'm very interested in getting the recipe and learning how to make it while I'm there (she was very touched that I remembered it and liked it so much X3 )
In elementary school we had root beer milk. That stuff was amazeballs.
So you had a warm Root beer float
@@krZabii....I would be scared if a school served warm milk. 🤢
Always a delight to see you upload. Love the Demo stock for the battery, might I suggest using a Delta Trooper stock if you want something less exposed? A friend recently made this work and said it didn’t take that much effort. -Foam0Fett
NSP celebrated its 15th anniversary? I could have sworn The Decision part 2 where they say "It's been 10 years" came out last year.
That last bit with Dan treating Arin like a dog swallowing a pill was hilarious.
"Never been done before" it's just Pilk but with Coke instead of Pepsi
I always love when they play with food and toys, I love watching the Grumps.
Ugh; that milk one hit me.
When I was in High School I did a group presentation where we had to do a fake commercial. So we picked “fizzy milk”.
I drank one sip of club soda mixed with milk, causing the entire class to recoil and go “UGH!”
I was nauseous for the next 4 hours.
Considering you basically just made instant spoiled milk I'm not surprised at that last part lmao
Guys, Great concert this weekend! Loved every second.
Ok i need to listen to the Mario Party rap again
Thank you! I just cleared the tears from my eyes from laughing so hard. The look on your face after trying to wash away the taste of terror with 7 up milk. “Did you forget?” Priceless!!!
The thought of the 50’s- everything is special when you put it in a jello mold! This is why everyone did drugs in the 60’s.
Eventually these guys are going to need someone, or a group, to make their special meals. Grump chef Jake, to fight Mythical Chef Josh
I appreciate ya'll two. I would love too see a colab some day with Brutal Moose, video games or Ya'll try various frozen pizza or frozen foods, that is warmed or cooked properly.
5:00 I don't need to try it, I drink Pilk on the Daily
Piss and Milk?
@zetsubo2 Pretty sure they were talking about Platypus Milk.
There was a point in the 1950’s where people were really trying to get Savoury Jello to be a thing…like some kind of terrifying alternate universe
I must be weird cause I enjoy Pepsi and milk and that's very close to the 7 Up thing. Tried it one time after watch Laverne and Shirley and was like hey!
[ARIN: LOADING]
[DAN: TRANSCENDING (DEROGATORY)]
[ME: CRACKING UP (UNDERSTANDABLY)]
11:38 "It's like giving a dog a pill" Or a big cat 🐱💊
11:04 read that as 'Arin was not farted to die' and went the whole video thinking that was normal till I had to roll back and recheck my sanity
12:03 "It just reminded me of home." It seems like Arin was told to "eat it" while shackled to a chair during a wartime flashback.
Arins intrusive thoughts caused by his concussion during a boxing exhibition
You know we've come full circle when Arin puts the dinosaurs BACK ON the table.
4:25 me with a tortilla I covered in mayo and mustard and then crushed half a bag of salt and vinegar chips on and called my calorie bomb. Not good! But a flavor for sure.
not that bad! I made (and still eat) sandwiches with ranch, fiesta blend shredded cheese, mild sauce from taco bell, 2 crunchy fajita takis, and 2 ranch flavor veggie straws. honestly 10/10
Watched the 15th anniversary concert! It ROCKED! 🔥🤘 I couldn't stop smiling. So proud of Danny and Ninja Brian! I especially loved the new rendition of dinosaur laser fight! I loved hearing Starbomb again!! Very funky 😎 And I'm happy dirty sonic made an appearance too 😂 I hope Arin washed his hands vigorously after touching him 🤣🤣🤣
Milk and pop/soda can work but don't use anything citrusy or that has real fruit juice in it. The various favourite cola (flavoured or otherwise) of your choice, Dr Pepper, root beer, etc. work well. I play with the ratios from time to time.
Try Moxie & milk
For SCIENCE
I don't know if I put this on the comments before but y'all Game grumps/The grumps have helped me through my mental health. Whenever my anxiety is getting too much, I usually put on any videos from you guys. Thank you wonderful people and the crew for continuing to make these hilarious videos. Btw, just a video idea, what if y'all did a video who can finish a hard puzzle faster? The loser would have to eat whatever gross snack/dish that someone made from the crew.
If you are perhaps wondering what happens if when you put milk into carbonated soda that makes it taste so terrible, (aside from the obvious.)
The fizz of the soda comes from the carbonic acid in the water splitting up into CO₂ and H₂O over time.
7up milk and gator wine. Things you actually can try at home.
No wonder old people are always so angry and want to make laws that make everyone else miserable.
“3 1/2-up” was a really good one
