I'm a 63 year old lady who has had osteoporosis & now osteopenia. Years ago, I reversed the osteoporosis by walking 2 ½ miles & worked out every day. I quit smoking as well. In 2009, I ruptured the L5,S1 & that's when my health swirled the drain. I've had many surgeries on my spine to use a neurostimulator trial & implant. That thing had been moved around many times & I finally had it removed. I've had 2 herniations in my neck & in 2022, I had a laminectomy decompression surgery & I had 2 disks that were in the severe case & the surgeon never touched them, so I haven't gotten any relief. My lower back & sciatica have been painful since 2019, but now I have severe pain in my back & left hip & both legs feel like I've been bitten, feels like something is crawling all over my legs!!!! It drives me crazy. I've fallen 4 times since June 2022 because my legs are super weak. It prevents me from exercising because it hurts so bad in my low back. The last time I fell was in May & I wound up with an infection. I'm now a type 2 diabetic & I can't drop this weight I've gained because everyone has stopped looking for the source of my pain. They say my spine is stable, what??? 👀🙄 They keep wanting me to drop the weight because of my heart & I can't exercise like I should. Do you know how I should proceed with these issues?? Thanks for sharing!!! 😊👍🏼
I'm 84 and have had sciatica for a very long time. I am getting pain down both legs an awful lower back pain on walking. But now getting pain on sleeping. Thank you for your tutorial, will put your suggestions into practice.
Hi Irene! Sorry to hear about the back and leg pain you are getting. I hope these exercises and suggestions ca help! Please keep me posted on how it goes
Wish you could make videos with subtitles for the viewers like myself who are deaf. Not quite understanding everything you are saying by lip reading. Thank you for showing exercises though, I'm just recovering after five months of my first bout of sciatica, let's hope it's the last, never had such excruciating pain. Will definitely try the exercises though. Thankyou.
Shrey, thank you for your very helpful videos! I have been spreading your name about in my friends and family. One suggestion, I have been using walking poles for a couple of years. They provide greater help with balance and posture, and using them like cross country ski poles, they actually allow a certain amount of the power required to walk to come from the arms, giving one a fuller body workout. Using them I am able to walk up hills that I found difficult before.
Hi Ursula! Thank you for the kind words and the excellent suggestion! Walking poles can certainly help with balance and gait and it turns walking into a much more effective and mindful activity. Love it! Thanks for sharing. I will keep this in mind for future videos. I am actually making a new video on how to strengthen your legs for walking up-hills, will surely include that in there!
hmmm...this is exactly the opposite of what was ordered for my dad to do. Now i am confused. the rehad doc told him NOT to bend down as this may not be good for his spine. 🤔
