The V.S. does not have an all metal body. It's just heavy plastic. Just like the PRO it's got a top metal panel and bottom metal panel. You are correct: they do use the same Sanwa stick and buttons and arguably the same electronic components (PCB). I wouldn't minimize the different form factors of the two sticks. One downside of the PRO is that the art is over the screws on the top plate, so you have to do a lot more disassembly to get inside. Both sticks are currently on sale for ECT V.
I have not tried it personally, but it has the exact same multi-stick mounting backet as every other Mad Catz stick, and I have put an LS-32-01 into a TE and PRO, so I'm going to say: "yes." ;)
not sure about the middle section misunderstood you but i know you can join 2 together there's a lot of detailed pictures on Amazon right now for this stick but yeah i don't know about that part either,i only had mine a couple days though.
So, the only differences between a Street Fighter x Tekken "Pro Cross" and a "V.S." stick are the size (v.s. is bigger) and the all metal body (in the v.s.)? Is that all? I'm kinda undecided on what of the two I should get, but the Pro Cross is 100 bucks cheaper, and given they both use Sanwa parts (basically no difference on what really matters), the Pro Cross definitely has the lead
Every stick that comes out of the box is a square gate, If you want an Octo you're gonna have to buy the gate its self (focusattack . com), open up your stick and put it in, which isn't hard, just YT it.

The middle section on the front has something to do with joining 2 sticks together?
idk man. when your passionate about fighting games and spend $150+ on a stick, it kinda matters what condition its in when you get it.

I see a lot of top players using this stick.
