He completely answered your question. It's all preference. Just as people play with pad, on hitbox, square gate, octo gate, circle gate, and a Crown joystick, it's all up to what feels comfortable to you. It works quite well with Marvel and AE, imo. I've tried all of the above (with the exception of a hitbox, haven't tried that yet) and I can say that the Crown definitely works just fine, if that'll answer your question, sir. :)
Thanks for this man, looks pretty straightforward. My stock joystick has been giving me problems with the diagnals, and I think i'm ready for a bat stick to be honest.
Thanks. It is very straightforward! The only thing that caught me off guard that I hope this video prepares people for is the tabs on the switches getting in the way of the inner plastic on a TE - and how to get around that. I hope that helps people. ;)
When you ask about how the stick works with specific games, that is totally up to taste. To try and tell you how the stick feels, I would say: It definitely feels closer to an American (HAPP) joystick because of the bat top, you don't feel the corners (square) like a Seimitsu/Sanwa stick, and it has switches more similar to a US (Cherry) switch: slightly clickier. However the length of the lever and therefore the throw distance is closer to a Japanese stick. If that sounds appealing, try it out.
I ordered a Korean Crown stick with the intention of connecting it to a Madcatz TE but the Crown stick did not come with that ESSENTIAL part, the harness. I guess I need one. Dang it. Very good video.
Hmm just a question, were you supposed to add a spring to the stick? I installed this stick to my Qanba last month but only just got round to playing on it today and i noticed that flicking left and letting the stick return to neutral also triggers the right switch... This is really annoying as I often let the stick return to neutral as its just a habbit of mine. I keep getting random supers and what not, very confused as to what I did wrong, any ideas? Thanks :)
I love my TE stick and want to mod but damn, MadCatz went a little crazy on the "red glue" and I stripped one of the nuts in the inside trying to take top panel off.
Garv DarkSlayer hye there if u wanna install Korean joystick in to your qanba do check crown CWL-309MJ-JMS-ST25. It will replace nicely your Sanwa Joystick.
how does this stick perform? ive modded my sanwa with a circle gate and a bat top & it still handles like TRASH! I'm starting to get fed up... Shouldn't have to spend so much money on parts to increase the performance of these things
Yes, the Crown joystick without the large collar will fit inside the MayFlash F300. If you go to Focus Attack to buy parts, get four of the zero delay .187 wires to connect the Korean joystick to the F300.
Im about to order a harness from FA [i guess thats all i need?] for my Crown to install into a SFxT VS edition for 360. Will i need to Dremel out some plastic or is it roomy enough in that stick that it will fit as is?
rshkhzee The Crown should mount just like a JLF or Seimitsu stick. Mad Catz has a great multi-stick mounting plate in their sticks and plenty of clearance. You do have the same model, 303-FK? I know that one is specific to fitting in JLF-like mounts.
***** Gate shape is always going to come down to personal preference. Nothing is 'required.' Try both and see what you prefer. There's a good article on Slagcoin about restrictors and why square is really the best: www.slagcoin.com/joystick/restrictors.html
Jimmy Woods I have no idea! I don't own one and they're all sold out. You could Google search 'pinout for JLF' and you might be able to figure it out that way. The harness that is on the JLF will work with a Crown 303-FK from Focus Attack because it comes w/ the harness.
I can relate. I was just messing with that stick last night and could not get the clip on with my bare hands. Try some pliers or a screwdriver so you're not using your tender fingers directly on the clip. ;)
The question I can't seem to get anyone to answer... how are Korean sticks for general purpose gaming? Could they be used for older arcade games, ie Pac-Man and the like?
Ever G Salas considering MadCatz is out of the stick business and Markman has moved on, I think it’s pretty close to impossible. Maybe eBay or the Shoryken forum’s trading area.
I just installed it like it came. It seems like the 'spring' is inside the housing. Mine feels tight. I could see how you could get extra inputs if you let the stick fly around like you describe. I guess you need to keep a kung fu grip on it to prevent unwanted triggers. :P
hello, maybe you could help me, im having issues where the battop unscrews by itself from the movement of my palm and the bottom part of the shatf lacks the flat screw slot to tighten it up just like my jlf had, any fixes to this would be appreciated
@@DonovanMyers thank you so much, i didnt notice there was a flat area on the top part of the shaft which i totally missed where an included key fit perfectly to hold the shaft in place. Your suggestion made me realise thats what it was for!! haha
+mathsLaw I got and mounted the sticks. However i did not like the Crown sticks...The Natural is not returning back fast and your hand is get tired quick. I stronggly recommend fanta sticks insteads. Hey focusattack.com any plan to vendor Fanta sticks ? thx
can you use that harness on a happ comp. stick. I know the happ sticks get a lot of bad rep but I got a huge hand and when I play with a ball top.... feels like I'm using a marble on a stick.... I was thinking of the korean version but I already got a happ stick and new too I just got to figure out a way to connect it to my hori arcade stick.
***** It may be more work than it's worth. I'm not sure that the Happ stick fits inside the Mad Catz case. Even if it does you'll have to figure out a way to securely mount it. I'm not sure if the mounting plate inside matches up. You could probably use the harness shown in the video if you figure out those first 2 things. Did you know that you can buy a Bat Top to replace the Ball Top on the JLF that comes in Mad Catz sticks? www.focusattack.com/sanwa-lb-30-n-s-battop-white/
I have a hori arcade stick. The plate inside does not fit the happ so I had to purchase a semi universal plate. I actually forgot about the bat top replacement for the sanwa ball tops. I remember back when sanwa was offering them. I just got back into fighting games since that whole COD craze took me to another world lol. Sold my consoles, made a transition to pc gaming, saw USFIV on sale on steam and here I am today. Thanks for replying BTW.

That's exactly what I needed, thanks, I was looking for one that would fit as a replacement for a sanwa but with a happ feeling, thank you so much
My preference is Sanwa sticks and buttons. Especially on myself made arcade stick for Super Famicom - works and sounds great.
Does it Work with May flash 500

Can you connect the Korean 5 pin harness directly to the console bypassing the the original 5 pin connector?
Yo dude is it really ok to bend the pins? 😭

will this work on qanba dragon or any qanba model?
what if i want to use myoungshin fanta in place of sanwa? is it possible to do so?
Myoungshin fanta requires a larger stick opening, the mechanism is externally mounted.
Garv DarkSlayer hye there if u wanna install Korean joystick in to your qanba do check crown CWL-309MJ-JMS-ST25. It will replace nicely your Sanwa Joystick.
Awesome video..
Is there a video for a Hori Rap4 ?
Greetings from Switzerland !
very helpful. thank you!
what would be a good bang for the buck arcade stick to mod to korean stick?
what is the name of that adapter? i need it
How in the hell do you get the clip on? I have been at it for a while now.
Does this also apply with the new crown 309mj?

Could this stick be installed in a Razer Panthera or Razer Atrox?

Yes, its the 303FK like the one in the video. I just straightened everything out with a guy at Focus Attack just now, thanks for your help man
thanks bro, the tutorial made it easy for me to setup
just wondering...i ordered the bat top along w the octagonal gate...is the octangonal needed for the bat top? or no? i ordered anyways just in case

How can I get rid of the click sound on the stick? Does the stick also work for a SE stick?
the click sound makes it sound awesome!
I just ordered this stick will it fit the Madcatz TE-2 Guilty Gear Xrd
Mounting plate on all Mad Catz products will support the Crown 303-FK sold by Focus Attack.
Donovan Myers what's the wiring on the TE 2 stick as all the wires are black not color coded? Thank you

i an old tekken 5 Hori case that is now empty, would i be able to use the korean stick my old case with sanwa buttons?

thanks Donovan Myers
The question I can't seem to get anyone to answer... how are Korean sticks for general purpose gaming? Could they be used for older arcade games, ie Pac-Man and the like?
Jess Ragan Korean sticks are built for response and control. Something like Pacman wouldn't be needing that kind of advantage in gameplay.
Sorry if this is really late, but will this joystick fit into my madcatz fightstick pro?
Oh sorry it seems you already answered this in an earlier comment, my bad XD
where can i get that key chian
