FORD E-150 ECONOLINE Change BLOWER MOTOR RESISTOR - 1988 Ford E150 E250 E350 F150 E-Series VAN
Просмотров 3718 месяцев назад
Today we'll be swapping out a BLOWER MOTOR RESISTOR for a Ford Econoline E-150 1988 Van 5.1 V8. The blower motor resistor is responsible for controlling the blower motor speed. In the past, this was done by varying the voltage supplied to the blower motor. In newer applications, the blower motor resistor is actually a solid state module that sends a varied signal to the blower motor.

The Ford manual I have is Haynes Ford Vans 1969 thru 1991 E100 thru E-350, but it doesn't help much with the A/C and heating; I figured most of that out on my own and with the help of other youtube videos.

Replaced MAF sensor @ 90k, coolant hoses (5), serpentine and tensioner, sway bar links a month ago, routinely oil (each 5k) and filters, tires twice. Absolutely nothing else needs done. Alternator, water pump, AC and clutch are untouched originals, factory brakes only half used and alignment is still perfect. Gets 38-40+ mpg and sticks in the curves. Well bolstered seats cause zero discomfort, unlimited mileage. Example: The MAF sensor costs $119 locally. Rockauto had the Bosch (original supplier) for $42. Advise you shop there when possible.

I want to thank you again this video saved me so much money & hassle, nobody could figure out what was wrong because it wasn't showing a code, one of the bracket bolts was loose causing a false knock detection. I replaced the faulty/partially grounded sensor then also added a smaller washer between sensor & block which also improved torque & acceleration significantly especially for a 1.6L engine, there appears to be a lot of performance to be gained from an ECU remap for this particular car model
