A little tip to assure no leaks, and so it's doesn't have be tightened so tight. is to put some Teflon tape on the threads.

I changed the thermostat on my 87 e150 5.0. it heats up after a long time like 40 minutes of driving. Full of antifreeze. Has new water pump too. Fan was working too. So not sure ?

@vanpocalypse hey thanks so much for the video!! I’ve got a quick question for you that’s been boggling my mind. My girlfriend bought a 1988 Ford E150 V8, set up as a pretty sweet camper. We picked it up in Santa Barbara and drove it up to Seattle, no issues. As we’re taking our exit, two minutes from home she overheats!! We couldn’t believe it. It’s leaking a lot of coolant and we’ve been trying to find the source of the leak. On the bottom of the engine there’s a hole we can see that’s dribbling fluid. It looks like a machined hole, can slightly see into it, looks like there’s a bolt running horizontally an inch or two inside. My theory is that there a crack somewhere in the engine causing it to leak out? Or that’s a fail safe plug in the case of over heating in the case of overheating? I’ve never seen something like that but would appreciate any help!!
