For anyone tryin to do this at home the bottom bolt of the starter is easy ash to reach its that top bolt that’s a pain,u can get a wrench around the top bolt too from the bottom but it’s so tight u should jus go thru the top,i tried for 3 days taking that top bolt out without removing anything an i stripped the bolt, jus took it to a shop,so if ur doin this at home u dont have to remove anything jus use extensions an make sure not to strip the bolt its super tight for no reason,I used like 4-5 extensions a swivel an 16mm socket an was able to reach the top bolt from the top without removing anything so its possible but obviously it’ll be easier if u removed everything but i ain’t have time for all that 😂if anything all u have to remove is the fuse box an you’ll be able to reach it jus need patience
Thank you so much for this video, my car has been sitting for some weeks bcz I can't get that top starter bolt off and I couldn't get anyone to come work on it bcz it's the starter lol. Now I can go finish this task.
@@HackMassacrethey came to pick it up to take it back to the shop. But it’s currently been 4 days and still not fixed. Crazy thing is that this is a dealership

Do you take the same stuff apart on the driver side also??
These car are trash when people is going to stop buy cars by looks..
The battery tray doesn't have to come out and the coolant line are easy and makes it easier
Removing the thermostat housing and coolant lines did make it better. I left the battery tray alone, it was not in the way at all.
excellent material
thanks
I did starter change on my daughter's Chrysler 200 a few days ago. What a terrible design and absolute nightmare. I got it done, but it wasn't easy.
what tool did you use to get that top bolt, mine is so tight
I put a 1/2" to 3/8" adapter on the extension and used 1/2" breaker bar.
can you come do mine too?? 😭
Just curious how much a job like this cost out of pocket
i dont remember
Around $100 an hour. So around $350 labor and then cost of part $150-200
@@HackMassacreI got charged 1500. And 2 days later it stopped working again. Did I get swindled?
@@AMBVibe holy! Yes. I’m sorry to say you did. Who ever you went to should warranty their work.
