With that CPU&GPU you could play all games in 4k medium to high some things off ofcourse and cpu utilization would be below 90%, beautiful and smooth 35-55 fps...

4790k / 1080ti here checking in. This setup continues to work hard.

I’m getting better fps than all of this with a gtx 1080, and I run most of these games in 4K, like gta I get 70fps in 4K with medium settings and in between 55-65 with ultra settings

i`m upgrading from a core2 quad q9550 to this cpu but then again i`m dead poor. thinking of pairing it with a rx5700xt as a 3080 is way beyond budget.

Ended up getting a 5500 instead. It was selling for $120CAD while the 5600X was going for $180CAD. Figured I would forgo the 1440p gaming requirement.

Upgraded my 10 year old i5 4670K 16GB DDR3 to a Ryzen 5500 32GB DDR4 on a Asus Prime B550M-A Wifi II for $325CAD. That's about $240USD after the exchange rate I believe. Intel had no promotions for their i3-12100F (and this processor didn't even have a cooler whereas the 5500 did), and the 5600X was available for about $70CAD more. Still using the same tower, 600W PSU, older style SSD SATA drive, and an older RX470 graphics card. It's being used as my entertainment desktop and attached to my TV. Pretty happy with how it is running.

Paired the 5500 with a 7700xt and it runs amazing.

I use one i7 4790K @4.9 ghz and a Stock RTX4060 Asus Dual Oc. Running all games in 1080p 60 fps+++ Grafics Settings all time in High or Ultra This processor is a monster.

you don't benchmark cpus at high resolutions, 720p at most, you f00l, do better & try again, you'll see even larger deltas

Gamers should care about 1% lows more than highs, so imo the 5700x3d at ~$190 is a much better buy than the 5600x

Perhaps you can explain why you didn't bother with 4K gaming where you would put the load on the GPU not the CPU. Or at least higher resolution than 1080P. If you want to max tax the CPU then sure, do 1080P. But nobody is going to game at 1080P. If you have a 4790K then it's completely inadvisable. You go to the trouble of all this, but don't make the results practical or as useful as they should be. The 3080 is a 4K gaming card. Why you stuck to 1080P with the 4790K is beyond me.

its sadly not supported anymore. but it works fine in older games. and it looks so damn good. For a high end system look this is still a must. I think the SLI HB bridges looked way better then the new NV link bridges. Other then that, a new system with NV link will work even better. And most modern render programs can utiulize nearly 100% of the second added GPU. I have seen a new 8pack (overclocker) pc, that has SEVEN rtx 4090s in NVlink. So there are programs that can even use seven of those cards which is insane.

Would a ryzen 7600 achieve near the same results with the 4070 super?

My ryzen 5 5500 is paired with a rx6600 card

i got a Pentium G4560, and i play various games in high or mediom, i think that i need to upgrade and this is a good choice, i have a RX 6800 XT 16gb, so the bottleneck is very higher xD

im still running this with a 970 in 2024, playing steam and xbox pc gamepass.... i'd upgrade but everything still works and i dont wanna just throw it out... i saved up for months for that build back in 2014

Wow.... how do you get this score in Cinebench R23?! I got less than 10.000 (9.900).... with the Ryzen 5 5600x... But Im using it with a MSI Bazooka B350m Board... Maybe this is a big difference?!

I found it bottlenecked with the 3080, so I put my 2080 back in it. Still using it after 10 years, though I retired it from being my primary game system 2 years ago.

Heeelll yes, this is great, in this days im upgrading my dell pc, is a optiplex 3020 sff, i have a rx 550 2gb, an internal hdd(i'm gonna change it by a ssd 480gb, a ssd of 2tb that has the videogames, and i did it a custom tower fan. I love the computers, the electronic and make things for it.😅
