2070 Super still gets 1440p 120FPS in new games like Tekken 8, and comfortably 1440p 80fps in games without DLSS like Helldivers 2.

Just what I was looking for. I have been debating this upgrade for two months now. My system is almost identical to yours. Going out today and getting a Gigabyte 4700 Super Gaming OC. Thanks!

This was very helpful. I'll probably wait for the RTX5000 series, since I'm still on a 1080p display and I had no problems running anything at 60+fps with the RTX2070S.
I'm planning to play Wukong, so I'll probably see then how the card is holding up.

I'm currently running 2070S on i7-9700k and looking to upgrade my gpu. Wondering if I should go for 4070S or shell out the extra cash for the 4070TiS.

If you don’t play higher than 1440p then I would save the money and go with a 4070S

I upgraded to the 4070s and a 1440p monitor from 2070s and a 1080p monitor about 2 weeks ago and have 0 complaints. Everything is much better.

Cool video, I've got a i9 10900K and RTX2080ti. I wanted to get a newer RTX card perhaps this 4070S will be the one. Ain't gonna pay top money anymore for the latest and greatest. Already thought the 2080ti was overpriced coming for each year of Ti card every generation.

    • @Techomode
      @Techomode  4 месяца назад

Yeah the 4070super is kinda the sweet spot for price and performance right now. Any GPU more than 600bucks is overpriced in my opinion.

Will a i9-9900k and the 4070 super work well? Also, will the 2070 super swap just fine with the 4070 super?

Depending on the resolution if you want to still be near the 60 fps mark then just look at the 0.1% as the lowest drop off. At least that will reassure you that i can run at 60 at its worse depending on the resolution. But if you're like me and want to experience impressive looking games the way it should be experienced then upgrade. Also people really should be playing at 1440p at this point. It's really worth your time and it's effectively two monitors in one. You can downgrade to 1080p for whatever reasons. I went from a 2070 Super to 4080 for 1440p and it's been great.
Btw you ran those benchmark at max. Realistically most people won't play at max but rather mix settings. Not having everything at max will give better fps.
If you had a 14900k as an example you would gain more fps than want is shown in the video. But not by much. For the Cyberpunk 2077 portion you just dial the Ray tracing down to medium or low and it should give better frames. The thing with Ray tracing is that you'll mostly never really play with it at max even at 4k because it's just that demanding to use as a feature. I often try just Ray tracing alone with nothing else to help my frames and it just crushes your frames. The devs even auto enable dlss or some other settings in some games if you use Ray tracing to prevent you from doing the very thing i do lol. It might take like a 6090 ti super with GDDR69X memory or something absurd to attempt max Raytracing. Great video.
Honestly i like this more realistic approach to upgrading a component because it's easy to replicate.

Mine sweeper with a 4070 super is really pushing it, better off just splurging for a 4090 or 7900xtx

Which power cable did you use to go from the 2070 super 8+6 pin to the new 12pin?

  • @dgregory4178

Great video. Exactly what I was looking for!
I have a prebuilt gaming PC I bought in 2020. IBUYPOWER from Best buy. (Stupid name but it runs great!) Intel i9 10900, 2070 super, 32gb PC3200 RAM. 1tb SSD. My biggest concern is my PSU. I have no idea how many watts it's rated at. It may be at the limit, who knows.
Anyway, I don't want to throw a power hungry card in the mix and have problems. Now I'm reading that the 4070S only consumes 220 watts and the 2070s takes 215 watts. PERFECT! SOLD!
Seems I can slip this card in and get double the performance and not have to buy and install another PSU.
Now if the price would just come down a bit.

Well I went and bought a Galax 4070 super anyway. Was going to wait till this fall but can't leave well enough alone. Also saw a great price on Prime Day for a Corsair 850w gold+ PSU and couldn't pass it up. Will install the card as is and see if I have any PSU problems.
