@ I’m hoping to have my explore units by end of January. I was told they will connect up just like a Solix unit ? Some of my Helix cables ( Ethernet cable ) will work. Just have to take the dongles off?? Just wondering if you know about this ? Cheers 🍻

Thank you! I just use the power cord it came with out of the box directly to its own 12v battery. Think alot of people go overkill in the guage wire, when the factory cord is only 18 guage. Having a really good battery or its own dedicated battery is more important in my opinion.

Hey, i really really appreciate your positive feedback. Its much appreciated. Once you get that dialed in on your regular body of water really when u change over to some dirtier or cleaner water it should only take a couple clicks of adjustment on the sensitivity. If you go clearer up the sensitivity one or two. If you dirtier drop ghe sensitivity one or two and you should still be pretty dialed in. The only thing that is really going to throw it off is shen your real close to a dam in very fast current then you make have to bavk prettu far off your sensitivity and adjust that water column sensitivity down till you get a good picture. Again i appreciate your comment!

Thank you. I really think that update should only be used for people that want mega live 2 and or have an xplore series humminbird. It is needed to run or network those. It does make the solix and apex faster that it runs now but will never be able to network with helix or solix or apex again after the new firmware is updated on your unit.

Great series! I run a Solix 12 gen3 at the bow for Mega 360 and a Solix 10 gen3 at the console for everything else. Both are networked together via cable (no hub needed since it is just the two units). Both are running software version 4.210. I recently received an email from Humminbird about new software update to version 5.060. Should I update them this upcoming spring? I am confused about the units not being able to network together with the new software versions. Thanks.

I feel you. Helix is still a great unit and will be for a very long time. From what i have heard they are going to continue to release software updates and warranties will still remain intact. I felt the same way 10 or 12 years ago when my 898c was phased out when helix first came out. I was mad but then i fell in love with the helix. Now i feel the same about solix

@staightwhitemale5753 Same here. Alot of people said that apex was suposed to phase out solix. If they did they would have to come out with a 10 and 12" version. xplore phased out the helix besides the 5 and 7 but what is confusing, after the new update for solix g3 and apex the firmware and interface is exactly the same as xplore. Only thing different is the keypads. Why have 3 units all the exact same

Maybe small units 5 and 7 will be helix, middle xplore and large screens apex

Thank you! I haven't had the chance to mess around with the xplore yet but the solix is awesome. It was a big change for me from the helix but touch screen is a game changer. Yes solix g3 is compatible with mega live 2.

They run about 500 watts and can reas bottom to around 1000 feet

Hi there. The 1000 feet you mention will reduce about 50% in salt water ? Is this unit not the best to fish qje3 snapper in salt water at depth of 500 feet or deeper ?

@@mikebennewitz7019 at menards they have a rv water filter made by camco that hooks to a hose spigott. It will remove all the chlorine for a couple thousand gallons

Thanks Brett! Yes the dive curve is less than the regular .22 short. From board to bait or rod tip in the water to the bait is roughly 20 ft to get 4-5 ft down depending on line diameter and speed

The humminbird unit itself has about 8 hours of record time but beyond that the zero lines card will be needed. Ive yet to figure out a way around it

@@johne8066 awesome, glad the video has helped you out! Its hard to say how big the fish are with the fish id on as it a big fish can show up as small if it is on the outside of the cone of transducer range. If its directly under, it will show bigger as its getting a bigger return. There are alot of variables but if it shows big on screen its either directly under the boat at the second or its good size fish
