May sound dumb question but do you set this also before you start mapping an any day? That is arrive, ascertain water level from full, set on head unit then begin mapping? Does the offset work on recording?

You will not need to adjust the water level before mapping. It can be done after mapping so u can change anytime the water level drops or rises
