Iv got an 2008 tracker v18 with a 115 opti. 3rd owner, was bone stock and showroom quality. Added a graph on the bow, ultrex, graph at the console, full deck lighting, and LOTS of other wiring throughout. I realize you may not be interested in this specific model, but i do have input about the quality that may be valuable for you. I am not s tracker fan… The floor drain is directly over foam, regular (non heat shrink) electrical terminals were used. The console is plastic and has a lot of flex. Cable/hose rigging to the motor was poorly designed. That said, those are all things you can expect with a boat that was made to be affordable. Most of the issues i have with it are able to be fixed or upgraded if desired. Structurally the boat is all welded aluminum. Marine grade wood deck (rear has exposed screws which make it easy to remove and run wiring). Framed with 1/8” 1.5x2.5 tubing throughout. Large lockable hatches on the front deck. Fantastic boat if you want something that can be modified and rigged to suit your needs. All aluminum transom, two piece hull (for the v18 at least). The trailer is outstanding. Torsion ezlube single axle, galvashield coating, steel tubing construction, folding tongue. The wiring has a standard 4 pin connector but each light has its own feed for running lights and the ground so no corroding connections. Tracker really got the big things right for my model. Nothing wrong with a budget boat as long as your aware of the places where they cut costs. Ive noticed tracker’s trailers made a big change between my 2008 and the present. Im a big aluminum boat guy! looking forward to seeing your perspective on the different tin boats!
Lund dealer near Ray Roberts called fish and ski marine in Sanger. Appears they have mod v renegade models in stock. John B of googan was running 1875 pro v Lund and boat was here in dfw at googan headquarters
In my experience, LakeMaster has better contour (usually) and Navionics (particularly for Rayburn and other East TX lakes) has better navigation, as it will many times show cleared boat lanes, etc. that aren't necessarily marked with buoys that Humminbird doesn't show on their maps. Humminbird will only map actual buoys. Navionics is good also for more detail on lakes that Hummibird doesn't have High Definition (HD) Contours on, like smaller local lakes, like power plant lakes I've fished.
Todd Masson who has a you tube channel called Marsh Man Masson has an Avid bass boat. You should reach out to him. Y’all could do some marsh fishing and you could see how that Avid performs and y’all could put a video out
Would love to see reviews on all sizes of Express boats and 20ft Avid. I hear tin boat owners complain about water getting into all their compartment's.
@@KenSmithFishing I just picked up an almacrft Bay 20, hasn't been in the water yet, drove it home from arkansas last week in the rain, water in everything. Not happy but after doing homework about other brands and it looks like it's a common problem. Gator Trax is probably your best bet
I have a 2021 Xpress H18 it’s just 18 foot with a 115 but that baby runs like a dream and rides just as good as any fiberglass boat I’ve ever been in. Looks for someone with a Xpress they are the best in my opinion!
On my 12 lives the pre loaded Cmaps was way better than navionics in my opinion. The shading options are great now! Learned how to do mine thanks to Edwin Evers.👍🏼
It really depends where you fish most. For us in the northeast, CMAPs are absolutely useless against navionics maps on our larger lakes. Same for our rivers and coastal inshore saltwater. Navi is outstanding with both coverage as well as detail. Again, thats just the north east opinion though.
Express! I don't have one but that's one I am considering so it would be very cool to see your evaluation of one. Keep up the good work Ken!
Thanks for the content Ken, keep up the good work
Thanks, will do!

When you say navionics, are you using garmin lake view g3 ultra maps? Also, garmin vision+ are the newest one out as of about 1 momth ago.
have not seen those yet

We have a mutual friend, I may reach out

That would make me crazy

Think I'm tracking a couple down
Humminbird is 100x clearer and more detailed. I think that mapping is the only thing Garmin lacks in and side imaging being right under that.
My buddy is about to purchase a 2020 Lowe Stinger Favorite edition. We are in NW Arkansas. Let me know if you are interested. Thank you.
Yes please!
2021 Avid 20xb for your review in Mt Pleasant Tx area if interesed
Danny could you shoot me your contact info at KenSmithFishing@outlook.com
Do any of them have padded decks?
I know some have seadeck or something like, I’d be surprised if it’s not available on some of the higher end tin boats
You need to get ahold of an xpress 21
I really want to look at the 19
CMAP!
CMAPS are making good looking maps now days to.
Chris would you be willing to talk to me about the CMAP's?
On my 12 lives the pre loaded Cmaps was way better than navionics in my opinion. The shading options are great now! Learned how to do mine thanks to Edwin Evers.👍🏼
Yeah I think the new cmaps are the best now. The shading and detail is hard to beat
