    Does every new map update, community, and sonar-live overwrite the old data, or does it build up on the existing data and eventually fill up the 16gb navionics card? First time user.

    • @navionics
      @navionics  3 года назад +1

      Thank you for your comment.
      For chart updates--those are overwritten with each download/update. Whichever files are on the card are replaced by new files when you update.
      For SonarChart Live, those files are not overwritten, they continue to build as the data generated needs to be in order to be applied to the charts. In the event that your card reaches capacity, SonarChart Live data will still be created on your plotter screen, but will not save to the card. (This is rare, since SonarChart Live data files are small.)
      We hope this answers your question! If you have any other questions, feel free to write to help@navionics.com referencing Case #00629705 and an agent will be happy to assist.

    Simrad NSS evo3. Just downloaded relief on my Platinum plus. Followed all instructions on this course. Shallow water is amazing. I'm on Big Pine Key. Same area as in this presentation. Once out to about 300 ft it's so dark I can't see the definition that is there. I've tried brightness and everything else, nothing seems to make it better. I do a lot of deep dropping and If I could see the screen that is in this presentation, I would be a happy camper. Help

      Hi Doug. As you get further offshore and into deeper water, the colorization on Relief Shading is going to get a deeper blue. There is no way to change or invert the colors; however, on your plotter, you can change the transparency of the overlay, which may help. Go to Menu > Chart options > View and under Photo Overlay, adjust the transparency to a higher number. If you need additional help, feel free to contact help@navionics.com referencing case #671990.

      Hadi: Thank you for contacting us. We are very sorry about the lateness of our response.
      Relief Shading is available in many areas, including North America, Europe and Australia & New Zealand. Sources of this data are not available in all areas. At this time there are some inland areas of Southeast Africa that offer this feature.
      As more areas become available, they will be highlighted on our coverage map at www.navionics.com/fin/charts/features/relief-shading#map-rs-eu.

    I have the nss evo3. I can't figure out why I can't get that type of picture on my unit. If I zoom out I lose everything if I zoom in to far it's gone. The definition that the Webinar shows is incredible but I can't seem to get that. Please help.

      Hi Greg. Thank you for posting. You would want to make sure (1) you have downloaded the Relief Shading Overlay for the area to your card through our Chart Installer program online; (2) in your Simrad plotter, you need to have Photo Overlay (in Chart Options) turned to FULL and the Transparency on the lower end or at 0.
      In terms of the actual image, at higher zoom ranges on the plotter you will see the chart information itself. The Overlay layer does not show up on the map until around 2NM - 1NM zoom range, depending on the unit.
      The image will also vary depending on the information available on our map sources. Some areas of the chart may have more detail and definition than others.
      If you need additional help, please feel free to reach out to help@navionics.com referencing case #696826 and an agent can assist you directly.

      Thanks for reaching out. Sonar Chart Shading and Relief Shading have been combined. We would like to know of the area you are referring to where you are just seeing red, so we can confirm if the area does include the blue color. Also, let us know the coordinates of the area as that will help with checking on our end. Email help@navionics.com and for the subject put, “Relief Shading showing red only” and once we receive an agent can assist.

      Hi Davie, yes -- Relief Shading is a feature of our Platinum+ charts (for coastal and navigable waterways) and our HotMaps Platinum charts (for inland lakes). These charts, as well as the Relief Shading feature, are compatible with the Raymarine Element.
      If you have any further questions, please write us at: help@navionics.com, referencing Case# 651834. Thank you. Have a great weekend!

    After we have selected which overlay we want to work with on our plotter, and we have chosen the updates we want(community edits, etc.), we have the opportunity to select what area or lake we wish to update. However, if we choose to only update the community edits, etc., on a daily basis, we can no longer choose the area or lake. Can you explain how we can continue to do daily updates without having to select an overlay?

    • @navionics
      @navionics  3 года назад

      Hi Marty.
      Since the Platinum+ are preloaded regions, when you update the chart layers (Nautical Chart, SonarChart & Community Edits), it will update for the entire coverage.
      When you choose to update the Overlay on your card (or switch to a different Overlay), you will receive the selection box on the map on the right to choose the area you wish to download or update the selected Overlay for. So if you are not choosing an Overlay to update or download, and just choosing the chart layers, you will not receive the selection box.
      If you have additional questions or need support, email help@navionics.com referencing case #686912. Thank you.

    Why we cannot create this shadow? Like creating sonar chart. So it's available to everyone one

    • @navionics
      @navionics  3 года назад

      Enriko: Thank you for your question. Relief Shading is different type of overlay information within the app. Whereas our SonarChart™ detail comes from depth data shared with us to make that chart layer more precise, Relief Shading comes from other, non-Navionics sources. Relief Shading sources are not available in all parts of the world.
      Since SonarChart is part of our own data set, we were also able to develop SonarChart Live as a way for users to be able to create the same highly-detailed depth contouring within their own mobile devices and chart plotters.

      But I believe someday you'll figure out, like sonar chart live, I believe you are the first company to deliver live rendering bathy map with a mobile phone!! How cool is that. while others have to upload our sonar log to create but still take a week and Software like lake master and Dr depth requires a computer processing power
      And years after they finally catch you, no wonder garmin bought you, you have a great resources, brilliant idea,

      Hello. Thank you for getting in touch with us.
      You can download the Boating Marine & Lakes app to Apple devices running an iOS of 12.0+ or Android devices running an OS of 5.0+. Simply go to your app store and search for the title of the app. You can also find an instructional video at ruclips.net/video/SO5lP9wCuvI/видео.html.
      Once the app is installed, you have a couple of different options for coverage, depending on what area you may need. Northern parts of Africa are included in the following coverage areas:
      Africa & Middle East (Northeast Africa) www.navionics.com/fin/mobile-africa-and-middle-east.html
      Central & West Europe (Northwestern Africa) www.navionics.com/fin/mobile-central-and-west-europe.html
      Mediterranean & Black Sea (Northwestern Africa) www.navionics.com/fin/mobile-mediterranean-and-black-sea.html
      At this time, Relief Shading is not available for northern Africa; however, we are always expanding our coverage as new sources of information become available. We mention this because you made a comment on this particular video.

      @navionics  2 года назад +1

      Thank you for contacting us. The relief shading feature is currently not available in the waters of Denmark. Though we try to offer coverage of as many areas as possible, sometimes we do not have the map sources, currently, to provide these features. You can file a report with our Cartography Team at supportforms.garmin.com/form/navionics-cartography-error-report/ and they will have a corresponding report to your request. This way you can be contacted if we are able to provide this information in future.
