    One thing to note here, if the wreck is 'old', you only get the wreck icon and no 'shapes' on the sea bed. But if the wreck is fairly 'new', that's where navionics are able to show the structure of it. I've had a few people mention this after downloading the app and expecting every wreck to show something up....

      That's interesting, one thing I would say is if you want the best accuracy you should pair it with a fish finder. Use navionics to find the location of the wreck and then the fish finder to get the exact location 👍

    Great video Ben thanks for posting my Navioncs app is installed on a Samsung J6+ phone sadly below 0.5 mile you lose all detail GRRR so cant get any detail on any wrecks i can only see the markers unfortunately it doesnt work on Kindle tablet i might have to get a second hand tablet to get the full potential but its still a great app for use on the SIB keep the Videos coming mate

    I live on the east coast and normally fish the harwich felixstowe estuaries i also quite often go to dorset but was hoping this year to go up to the north east that was the reason for my question

    Good video. I have navionics but your relief shading has better quality than the one on my cell. Is this difference affected by phone models?

      I don't think it will matter which phone you have, may just be the ground you are looking over. I fish around Shoreham and Brighton have a look on there.

      If I get a nice flat day I will give it a go yes but only if it's perfect otherwise it's normally more hassle than its worth and is not as fun! Fishing will pick back up again in February if not. 👍 Thanks for watching

    Hey Southy great vid mate. Just a question. If I purchase the app and upgrade my phone in a month's time is it transferable to new device?

      Hi mate, yeah it's stored via your login so as long as you use the same account you will be fine. You will need to re download the map areas of you saved them for offline use tho 👍 but this is not a problem

    Ben, do you take your phone out on the sib, with the Navionics on, or could you use a mini Ipad ?

      Hiya mate, I take my phone with me but sometimes I take my Samsung tablet if I know it's going to be flat calm! Works both on iPad too.

    I currently use C-Map, which I found to be really good. I thought I would give this Navionics a try, but it would not let me download the maps without a monetary subscription. Did you pay for your service?

      Yes I pay for it so I can use the overlays such as relief shading

    Great video. Does the desk top version produce a higher quality image than an IPAD? I notice when I’m in the relief shading setting, the image is not as clear and detailed, as what you were showing? No big deal, just curious.

      Yes desktop is slightly clearer but not much really. It's never that clear if you zoom right in. Some wrecks are clearer than others too

    Great video ben i have a question when you down load the maps can you download for several different areas places that you might plan to go to on holiday then use the maps to plan your trips before hand many thanks dave

      Hi Dave, I am not sure about different areas but you can definitely select a larger area. Say if you were going Cornwall you could select the whole of the south coast if you normally fish Sussex, this is what I have done. Just make sure you download over wi-fi of course.

    Do you have any co ordinates for fishing spots you can share in Brighton. I have down loaded the app but still not sure where to find the fish.

      If you look for wrecks on the app this is a good place to fish 👍 I have another navionics video which explains how I find my fishing marks it's defo work a watch 👍

      Sorry, I am not sure why this is happening. Maybe try uninstalling and reinstalling the app.

    When you are out on the water you may not have any cellular or WiFi. How does Navionics get your position??

      GPS no need for cellular/wifi, maps are downloaded on to phone/device for offline use...

      You can download the maps 👍 then it just uses the GPS from your phone.

    hi….how much does it cost to pay and see things so clearly? when i zoom in on the photo it does not make the colored field so that the bottom one under water looks as clear as on your phone .. thanks for you

      Watch my other video on navionics, it explains the basics. You will need to subscribe per a year it's like £36 and you get relief shading.

      When you download a map, it allows you to view the chart with no internet.

    Much easier to just buy a lake map and avoid the fustration to much to learn and nothing seems to work right unless you pay

      I mainly use this for sea fishing where it's much easier to have your phone to find wrecks.

      @@SouthysFishing I can't even get past the solid blue screen or access any content without a $60 subscription I'm just stuck on a blue screen that tells me to subscribe. Ive deleted redownloaded there is no way to get around it u half to subscribe.
