Hey there...great advice in the videos you do! .just got a Helix 7. Wondering if you have any videos or tips centered around best settings for shallow water fishing. Do most of mine in the Salt Ponds of Cape Cod for Stripped Bass where water is never much deeper than 7-10ft and a lot of times under 5ft.
I did one a while back on a helix 7 in my local river that is really similar. Let me see if I can find it but that is something I can try n get done in the next few weeks
I have a Helix 12 g4n I have a hi speed and SI transducer with y cable which options for transducer connect do I use?

Why doesn't helix 7 G4N not have ice fishing mode ? Kinda strange to me ! But i can buy a meaga live transducer to ice fish ?
When u hit the menu button twice and go to sonar menu ice fishing isn't all the way at the bottom. It should be. Is the units software up to date

Yeah great vid, great info, but what do you do when you wait 30 years to FINALLY get your bass boat you pick the color size brand you go to a great dealer everything is awesome right!!!!! WRONG!!!!! Take the boat out and the stupid fish finder doesn't work. IT WONT SHOW ME ANY VIEWS AND SAYS TRANSDUCER NOT CONNECTED!!! Dealer says check connections under the console and into batter compartment Holy shit really!!! Connections good dealer says check settings setup go to demonstration ok cool NOT!!! MY UNIT WONT SHOW ME THAT THERE IS NO DEMONTRATION UNDER SETUP!!! It goes to daylight savings time and nothing else this is just my luck cause demonstration is the next thing on the list what do I do???????!!!!!!! Question, I have a helix 7 g4n MSI . Want to upgrade one of my units to a 8 or a 9 would I get true down imaging or would I need to get a di unit or would it be better to save up and buy a 8 or 9 MSI+ then connect the MSI 7 to it. what would be the most economical way kinda confusing on what units can connect and run what features. I admit I'm kinda technology inept

You’re videos are great and very helpful. I’m literally on the water now watching your video playing around with the unit. Maybe I missed this but What setting should the chart speed be on? I had mine on 3 while looking for brush piles at 3mph boat speed
Awesome man your going to enjoy it. Rule of thumb is match your boat speed with the chart speed but I sometimes I bumb the chart speed up by 1

Hi, I have a Helix 9 mega Si+ G4N and a Helix 12 mega Di + G4N but can’t get the Si enhance menu to show up. I changed the settings to custom on both. I have the 2.660 version. Any tips? Thanks
That's very strange. It should have it on both units after putting on custom mode. You do have to be on the full screen si or di to get that menu to pop up. Can't be on split screen. Are they networked together. Possibly try leaving one powered off and see if that makes a difference. I have not updated my g4n yet but that would be crazy if that changed that with the update.
@@HumminbirdHelp thanks, I have it on full screen. I do get the extra choices on the menu ( Si contour mode and Si sharpness) but this Si enhance option does not show up. I can send you a pic of the menu under angler mode and custom mode. But it’s not possible to post pics on this thread
@@HumminbirdHelp I think it is the update, I picked up my boat from my dealer Already rigged and version 2.660 installed

Thank you. Only fix there is would be a dedicated battery for the unit or better starting battery. It's the cranking amps drawing the power down enough to not hold enough power for the humminbird.

What should I set my SI at for fishing a river? 60-80ft?
If you are looking for a si range to see the farthest from the boat I would def consider switching down to a lower side imaging frequency like 800 khz. This would give you a better image out to almost 200 feet
Just purchased this unit. Dang. I love your videos. But still trying to figure out how to get split screen satellite map. And sonar
Just going to throw out the issue myself and a co-worker had with our mega SI machines. The mega DI transducer looks just the SI, but it won't give you a picture. If you aren't getting what you think you should on your unit, double check your transducer.
Did the di transducer come in a new si box? That would def not let you get a si image
Came on the boat, bought it from a boat show
Buddy bought his boat used with the same issue, so I'm thinking this is fairly common mistake

I just got my hummingbird and started charting but I’m not able to open the chart at home to go over it at home plugged in at the house
How do you set it on simulation mode?
Easiest way is to plug In the unit without a transducer connected
I don't get my boat for a week or so but I have learned so much from your tutorials. One question, if I hit scroll arrow in side image to freeze, can I then change over to down imaging on that same location at that same time to look at it closer also or must I lock on/freeze in each individual mode? Ken

Auto chart live how far does each path scan? 10, 12, or 15 feet. I see people on RUclips making a lot of paths to cover an area
Yeah I would say 20-30 feet accurately but the more paths you do the more exact the autochart map will be
@Slime Quest TV yes sir I appreciate your response. I will be stuck recording one day and having to do 2nd, 3rd, and more recording to capture my lake here in Indy. How will the system remember and how does it add to day 1? 🤔 so many questions
Just make sure you turn your autochart recording off when your done and next time u go out it will be right where u left off. However just remember the unit without the zero lines card only records about 8 hrs. You can also record at a decent rate about 8 to 10 mph without loosing much detail

Does my live scope have to be in the water before I turn my graft on
I'm not sure about Live Scope but with mega live you don't need to deploy the mega live transducer first but until you do the unit will say the mega live transducer is out of water
