  • Today we have another video for you out alot of requests for Humminbird. This is the set up of a Humminbird Helix Series fish finder for the Gen4, Gen3, Gen2, Gen1. Programming these units alongside with the expert Joclyn Leung will allow you to learn your unit as well as why everything is done. Going through the settings yourself is great for helping to learn your fish finder unit and for a better experience on the water. This helps to increase your odds of finding fish. If at any point you ever need to re-program your unit you can refer back to this video.
    This seminar is by Prostaff and Electronics Expert Joclyn Leung of Angling Outfitters in Woodstock, Ontario. He has over 35 years experience in Electronics and owns one of the biggest stores in Canada at Angling Outfitters in Woodstock, Ontario, Canada. Joclyn is considered one of the most knowledgable experts in Canada. People travel to his store from hours away to shop and buy from his store.

    Great video. I have Helix SI G4N at console and Helix 8 di G4n on ultrex and Helix 12 DI G4N on bow with 360. They are all linked. My temp works at console until i turn on front graphs then temp goes off of ultrex, so now reads air tenp. I go to where it shows T1 and T2 and the SI for console is shaded and shows others in white to where it can only be my only selection. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Question for you.. I fought with auto chart live for 2 weeks after getting my helix 10 g4n. I could never see the colored path on the base map with contour lines as I mapped. Nobody, including Humminbird tech, could figure it out. Then by accident I found out that you have to zoom in to be able to see the depths and colored path as I map. Why doesn't anyone say you have to zoom on all these videos?

    • @hookedntravel
      @hookedntravel  2 года назад

      we unfortunately haven't gotten that far into depth on a tutorials for birds. This video goes over the outline of setup and initial programming thats to be done out of the box to get the user 95% of the way there from the start. As far as the mapping goes, its most likely due to the processing power it takes to draw map contours on the zoomed out range and tying it together. Zooming in helps takes the processing power load off unit.

    Best tutorial I’ve seen yet! I am confused about the fact that early on you explained that in order to have new settings saved you have to switch to real mode. Then very shortly without explanation it appears you switched to simulator mode and then proceeded to make all the setting changes.

      You're supposed to have it in non-simulator mode when setting up your unit along with the video. All we did is have the unit in simulator mode for demonstration purposes only for the video. (simulator mode is just retail mode). Just so it looks as if you're using in your boat in real time.

    • @hookedntravel
      @hookedntravel  9 месяцев назад +1

      The biggest factor will be your budget. Your biggest factor between the two are going to be your pixel dimensions per each screen and how that factors into your budget. More pixels per screen and you're going to fit more details onto it what your sonar is seeing. Your second biggest factor will be which transducer type and what you're using it for. You have to take into an account that you can zoom in on your side scan, down and 2d. As well as your Megalive. Here at the shop we'll see sidescan on our 9" units, then zoom in right side only to zoom in to fish and structure. It's going to allow more pixels per image when you zoom. That details will be limited on your transducers capabilities. With all these points, keep in mind the solix are harder to program. Honestly we can't tell you which one to go with, with money as no object 15" is going to have more pixels and a higher model will have more features. But it's also dependent on the time you have to dedicate to learning that unit. Most units can do way more than what 90% of users will ever learn. Without knowing how you fish and your boat setup, and how often you fish. We can just lay out it for you

      Eu aumentaria sua sensibilidade até que ficasse granulado e depois diminuiria até que ficasse apenas levemente granulado. Um peixe tão grande naquela água rasa não deve ser problema para marcar. Você deve ser capaz de ver os peixes diretamente abaixo e parcialmente abaixo do ângulo do seu cone. Ao pesquisar, eu usaria um ângulo de cone mais amplo e estreito ao desacelerar e jigging. Já conferiu nosso vídeo de interpretação de sonar no canal. • @hookedntravel
      @hookedntravel  2 года назад

      You’ll place the cursor over the fish on the sidescan or the sonar screen. Make sure it’s marking it on waypoint at cursor and not the boat position. You’ll go back over to find the waypoint on the mapping screen. Some units will display a waypoint on sidescan and some don’t. Generally your using the chart to track back to the waypoint. A separate GPS puck hooked via nmea 2000 network makes the track back to that waypoint a lot easier because it has the direction the boat is facing. It’s not necessary though.

    Don't buy any hummingbird units. If you expect 1' contours on this garbage you will be very unhappy. $3000 Helix 15 does not show 1' contours with an additional $500 map chip.....

    What they do not tell you, if you place a memory stick whether, for a chart or any purpose, The Helix loses its water tightness due to the door being held open and the plug will not go back
