You are a brilliant young Bass Fisherman. I just bought a Bass boat with a Helix 10 and a Helix 7 up front, a great help. I love your channel (my favorite fishing channel). You are teaching this 61 year old better ways of catching fish. Keep up the great work Jonny!
Man this kid is a fishing genius! Love how he brakes it down. All in all , those who aren't subscribed are doing it wrong . This information will improve anyone's fishing game!! Keep them coming!!
Impeccable timing for me to stumble across this vid of yours. I literally switched from angler to custom last weekend & just began comparing menu options to see what I can actually do. Your sonar (Humminbird in particular) videos are awesome!!! Much appreciated. I've been subscribed & another huge thumbs up
I am 2 weeks into my new Humminbird with SI. I've been jumping out on my boat daily to learn a little each time. This is my favorite SI video so far.....just the specific tips I needed at this point without a lot of extraneous sidebar chatter!! Thank You!
You are by far the best person I have seen that brings this content to RUclips. I don’t know what your background is but your videos are very professional. I would have never found these features without your video. You would be an asset to Humminbird to produce these video for them.
You sir are a wealth of knowledge. You create wonderful presentations that are informative and easy to follow. We fishermen are lucky to have you. Much appreciated.
Jonny you always have a nugget or two in every video that are priceless. That red green color palette will make a huge difference in how quickly I can scan through an otherwise featureless bottom to find those hard spots. Thanks for everything you do and all the secrets you pass on. Subscriber for life!
As always, the crispness and clarity of your videos are amazing. The screen is extremely sharp, unlike many other RUclips channels with horrible glare and reflection when showing the screens.. Oh, and the tips are great also! Thanks.
THANK YOU, THANK YOU! I'm glad I found this video. My brother showed me how he marks waypoints on his Lowrance. I could not figure it out on my Helix 12 Gen 3 until now! Thank you!
You are teaching me how to use my helix and I really appreciate it! I also bought an additional power cord. With it and a small 12v battery, I can practice making changes rapidly while in my home. Practice makes perfect👍
This is really GREAT stuff. I am one of those guys who has trouble figuring this stuff out by myself. I did not grow up with computers. Thanks for making this video.
Love your content and love it when your videos are shorter. I've been a subscriber for awhile now and I am more likely to choose watching your videos when i don't have to invest 30 minutes . Thank you for explaining things properly that others have trouble explaining!
Great info especially on changing color palettes to enhance the hard bottom. I like to make my casting rings in multiple of my boat length which gives anyone a n easy way to gauge the distance to the target
Awesome! I just purchased a new boat and a Helix 10. Only had it on the water once. That was some great information in this video.I will be watching more of your videos as winter sets in. I hope to be on the ball when spring is here. Thank you again!
Such a great explanation, well done my dude. Your video format and method of explaining/teaching those of us that are new or just need a better explanation is spot on.
Great refresher before the next open water season in the north country. I especially liked your tip on the red/green color pallet to better identify hard bottom. I have tried this, but your tips have giving changes to both the contrast and sensitivity settings have me wanting to be better at this. Thanks.
Great video! Very informative and useful. Well presented. You requested to know if we would like to see other videos like this… I would like to see similar for the Lawrance GEN three series. And if possible, a higher speed, application of side imaging. Thanks!
FYI..Precision matters...If the ring is 100’ and the waypoint is in the middle, then if you are 50’ from the Waypoint..if you drive to the ring edge!!!loved the vid!!!
i'm currently using lowrance HDS gen2 touch units. on the 'marking' stuff off to the side on side imaging: you can also use it to outline subtle bottom hardness changes... setting a 'string' of icons. useful for road bed edges, creek channel ledges... especially those that did not make the actual lake survey map you're working with. and don't forget weedlines (where they end...)
Great content as always. I would love to see other units shown as well. These hidden feature can be can be the key on days the bite is more difficult. Tight lines.
Would you consider posting your entire Helix settings? I jack around with mine all the time and never feel like I really get it dialed in to be most beneficial.
I have really learned a lot from watching this guy's videos on fish finders and even fishing tips for open water bass fishing. One thing I have never really been able to figure out is how to catch stripers? I live near a lake here in Oklahoma that has a captive stock of breeding stripers. Meaning they do not have the ability to migrate from salt water to fresh. I have been told that it is unusual for this to occur. But Keystone lake near Tulsa is a very sandy bottomed lake that's fed by Kaw and Arkansas rivers and I know there are huge stripers here. I have trolled for them with deep diving crank baits and tried to find them on my fish finder, etc.... No luck. I have caught bass, but not stripers.
Just got my Helix 7 yesterday. Hope to mount it this weekend. Thanks for the video.

Long time subscriber. Really enjoy the videos.
I use a Lowrance and I would love an advanced tips video as it doesn’t seem like there are many advanced Lowrance settings/tips videos on RUclips.
Excellent video
Would you consider doing an analysis of the Simrad go? What you like, don’t like?
