Love the videos man. Especially as you update with the newer versions. Man it’s all about the settings and messing with them as different parts of lake have different water as in clear or murky or weeds and sand bottom. So you always have to be adjusting. Sometimes it can be a headache so I’ve tried to leave it at the 12. Still learning frequencies and switching for different search styles and what fish I’m targeting and where
I actually have some videos coming up in the next couple weeks going over a bunch of chirp configurations on the g4n that will be the same as the g3n units
Nothing changes Chirp is just a just a multi range of frequency. small numbers wide beam large or mega narrow beam. You can look up the numbers or i can help you
@@HumminbirdHelp thanks for the reply. My lakes are pretty stained as well. I’m assuming it’s the sun causing it but when it’s a sunny day the returns get very busy on max mode, so I’ll switch to clear mode. On a cloudier day it seems like to me anyway I can get away with keeping it in max mode.
I hear anglers using 2D sonar and mapping. What is mapping? Is it the map of the lake and split screen with 2D? Do you have a video on how to use both at the same time?
He is wrong on this one. Most of the settings will stay. Does not reset. There are a few that do. I have great fun on the sim in the winter. Also not very good info on the beams Make this simple Wide is 3 to 1 meaning 10 ft of water 30 ft beam.Narrow beam is 1 to 1, 10 ft of water 10wide beam.
Wide is the largest beam Full less wide Narrow if the tightest beam Narrow gives best resolution or screen shot wide is a search mode not the most sharp picture Full is in the middle. Takes time to learn
The advancement in technology over the years. The humminbirds are now shooting much bigger cones to see more of what's under the boat. The arches are created as a fish passes through the cone and the transducer pings the fish. With a smaller or narrow cone the highest part of the arch is when the fish is in the center of the cone and low spots are the fish on the edge of the cone or beam angle. With the wide cones and better frequency to get more detail the fish come back more natural and life like than the old arches
I need your help my RUclips has a block so I can't commit on channels in less I use my other RUclips account I have a 12 ft v bottom boat mad by star craft how would I mount the transducer on the back of my boat
If I see something on my DI, what location will that be in relation to my boat? You say “cone”. Are all images from the transducer out and to the side immediately when I pass over/by things? I’m usually going about 3mph when looking for things.
Whatever you ser on the right side of the screen is under the boat as you see it. As it scrolls over to the left side of the screen it's what you have already driver over.

What day settings work for a Gen 2
Do you always run it on clear mode?
I ussually do but the rivers and lakes I fish are pretty stained most all the time

@@TGS303 no problem. Yes that will help for sure. Should only need it on max if looking for a thermocline

Can settings be chosen and kept in simulation mode?
No once simulation mode is switched the settings will reset themselves. Once you change the settings on the water they will stay the same forever

@@HumminbirdHelp No they dont You can set up in the sim Does not default back to factory.
Diff between full and wide ?
Full will pick up thin target separation and detail that wide will not that helps straight under the boat for seeing jig r lure better

Why does HB show more blobs than traditional arches like other brands?

upsice down ice cream cone. Fish are anywhere in the cone. Arches mean fish are going in or out of the cone.
great that 'portal' has me totally clueless
Yeah i got it Not well done. I doubt if you are clueless !
Where you from? Man would love to go fishing sometime to shoot the shit and learn some stuff
