The Heavy duty frame mod is how it should have been built in the first place by the factory. I would move your tanks back away from the hitch closer to the front of the camper. I had plans to purchase one of these camper's brand new but after seeing this highly doubtful.👍👍

On my new 2024 zr2 it came with 285/70R17 goodywar terriroty m/t tires. I am thinking about going with 295/70R17 or 305/70R17 new tires by either toyo,yokohoma or cooper. But those skinnies 255 width pizza cutter skinnies tires make more sense for better fuel economy.

I've done a friend's 3500 2021 HO with aisin trans - he hauls 25-30K daily. Ez lynk hwy speed 60-65mph went from 14-16 mpg to 24-26 hwy only. Towing went from8-9 mpg to 12-14 With the same weight.

Appreciate your breakdown, shocking how light these are built! Mine was underbuilt also. When I beefed mine up I put a cross piece under the trailer connecting the two arms and then a third arm from the center under the trailer THROUGH the previous hitch position extending over 2 feet straight and putting the hitch there. Now I can jacknife the trailer 100° or so and it all pulls quite well, though the overall length is some 2 1/2' longer. My frame was 1/8" but also 4' pieces with rivet plates. Unbelievable. I strongbacked the entirety of it with 3" steel channel tied in to the improved hitch. Gives the trailer a 3" lift which I also like.

That is not heavy enough, look at older pull alongs, I worked at FleetWood motor homes for 20 yrs. They are lieing about never hearing about it. This is what happens when Corporations are allowed to duck issues by the runaround method . And consumers pay the price. This why regulations are necessary. To protect us not the corporate office

Yep, you had me at Lippert. They build the majority of trailer frames and seen this several times. WDH should be disconnected when going through big dips. It's ridiculous they can't just beef up the frame a little.

I totally believe this happens. With that said, I've worked in the industry as a technician. Have for about 2.5 years and have never seen this. I've seen other poorly built items, just not the frame bending like this.

Im going tp give you advice and im gping to explain why this happened . One you gave me the best hint when i seen your truck . Look just because it says a certain weight dont depend on that . The trailer you have illustrated with truck one of two things must happen or i giarantee you this WILL HAPPEN AGAIN!!! Its not the frame of the trailer . Oys failute of the driver yess driver error not overloaded. On trailer ITS THAT DAMN EQUALIZER HITCH !! The trailer weight pushes down on hitch to try to get front wheels of truck off the ground vut the equalizer hitch you jave prevents that . Hete is the problem well your main one there dont have to be weight in trailer for this to happen . When the truck leaves pavement to gravel or vice versa the ballance of truck and trailer is very critical And the force falls onto hitch like a 6 ton press and will break the frame everytime . To prevent this again . 1 a bigger truck 2 or smaller trailer . Ypu can take that advice or make another vid just like this one again . Yes you got a dually but the equalizer hitch vaused this . Get rid of the damn thing . And i seen the equalizerr hitch but listen you dont need it on your truck

I had a similar thing happen to my travel trailer during Hurricane Ida. My insurance company just couldn’t understand how 140mph winds hitting the camper head would bend the frame. It took 8months of fighting with progressive before they finally gave in and paid for the repair. Lippert came out and replaced the front section of the frame in my driveway. But yeah it’s cheesy 1/8” rectangle tubing.

You bought a cheap trailer and take it down a dirt road and expect no issues😂 you saw it had thin steel when you bought it. A man of your intelligence should have seen that was not industry standard had you looked at better quality equipment.

You do know that your weight distribution hitch caused this problem? By putting heavier gauge steel there you may now damage your tow vehicle. Anytime you go down or up a step incline you should disengage weight distribution hitch to avoid this kind of damage. I know its a bummer when this happens, but it can be fairly easily fixed. It's probably something your salesman or technician that installed the weight distribution hitch should have told you.

what does it cost to upgrade the framing on the trailer. I just need to know so I can upgrade the frame myself if I get a deal on a trailer meeting my specification

I am thinking about buying one so thank you for letting me know aas soon as I leave the dealer to take the unit to welder and reinforce the frame.

Maybe the worst thing I had to go through with mine was selling it. The men buying it from me were con-artists and took advantage of my inexperience selling trailers. They bought from me then added $3,800 to price and sold it right away. Ugh.

I have owned 5 travel trailers i will never buy another keystone they are crap. Two of the 5 were keystone and lasted less than 5 years from new. Watch out

No one is having this problem but you so it has to be something you did improperly. Perhaps you overloaded the rated gross weight recommendation, or you cut something while installing a new lithium battery system. We don't know what you did to the trailer but it's on you. Don't bother us with fraudulent claims.
