      Great to hear William. They look great. They take a little getting used to when using them. Since they are small you need to be a little cautious when they’re wet or icy.

    Hey Dustin, I'm not sure that you would need / want a Cold Air intake if you install a snorkel. However, I understand the air box box upgrade. 420 Motors (a RUclips channel) has a good video on his, including how to make the air boxes water proof. On a side note, 589 also makes a shock relocation kit, but that is a lot more work than the shock guards.

    Best Colorado I’ve seen on RUclips! Can’t wait to get mine.

      Thanks, I appreciate it. Have you already ordered yours? I’ve heard the wait times are crazy in some areas. Thanks for watching Mitch. We will have some more videos coming out but we’re just a little delayed because we’re taking a couple vacations this summer.

    • @mxmastermitch
      @mxmastermitch 3 года назад +1

      @@DustinFaddis yeah put in a preliminary order with a local dealer, Couldn’t set official wait time but the 2022’s will be starting production in August so likely late September as the best guess. (My money is on October) Went with the z71 over the zr2. Couldn’t justify all the off road coolness for a only few weekends camping in the Midwest. Did some basic factory add ons; spray bed liner, sidestep, tonneau cover. Will be doing some of the upgrades you guys have done myself. Leveling kit etc. great inspiration so thank you. Keep putting out the great content. But enjoy the vacations!

      @@mxmastermitch awesome, congrats on the order. I’m excited to see your build. The z71 is still an awesome truck. The only thing that pushed us toward a ZR2 is that we’re currently living in Alaska and as you can probably imagine the snow gets crazy deep in the winter. Not to mention the mud in the spring is how you would picture quicksand as a kid 😆. I would say the most important mod in my opinion is upgrading the headlight bulbs. It’s such a big difference. My dually came with LED and it’s disappointing driving the Colorado after being in a truck with factory LED to say the least. We did a quick video on that as well. You have to check out the before and after. Anyway congrats again….

    • @DustinFaddis
      @DustinFaddis  2 года назад

      Some people have put sleeves on and then went out jumping their truck… they end up damaging their steering rack. They blame the sleeves for that. The thought is that it would be better to bust a tie Rod on the trail than damage a rack. I’d rather have a stronger tie Rod and not damage anything. That’s why I use them.

    Hey Dustin! I looked at my 2021 Bison's rock rails and don't see any rivnuts to drill out to bolt the 589 rock slider steps to them?!? I'm wondering if the design was changed but bummed out! I wanted those.

    • @DustinFaddis
      @DustinFaddis  2 года назад +2

      So with mine, there aren’t any rivets to drill out either. There’s just the flat plate on the lower side of the rock slider. You will drill holes in that then bolt it together. I can take some pics or a short video of you need. When my wife gets home tomorrow

    • @DustinFaddis
      @DustinFaddis  3 года назад +1

      Thanks for the heads up. I watched the 420 motors video. I really like what they did but I’m not real comfortable with submerging the filter under water. They say in the video that they’re comfortable with the mod because they mostly do desert running. We would only get the snorkel for deep River crossings. We would need to be 100 % confident that it wouldn’t leak. Thanks for the input and thanks for watching Abraham

      I actually love the way they look. BUT…. They would be more functional if I would have gotten the 3 inch steps. When they get icy your foot slips right off so it turns into something you just have to step over. I hope that helps… Thanks for watching.

    Blizzaks are not "some" of the best. They are hands down the best snow and ice tire. Keep up the videos, they're awesome.
    EDIT: Should have waited until the end of the video to comment lol. On the airbox/snorkle. I have an S&B on my 2018 Diesel ZR2. From looking at countless hours of video and going as far as to model up an adapter for it I think with a little engineering you could make it work. The primary intake port (at least on the diesel) is the exact same spot as OEM. AEV uses the OEM routing to get to the box so a short tube and a gasket would probably be all you need to connect the two.

    • @DustinFaddis
      @DustinFaddis  3 года назад +1

      Totally agree with you on the blizzak tires. I just said "some" of the best... Not to offend 😆. Great to hear about the s&b. Maybe I'll pull the trigger. First I'll call s&b and ask them off they made it exactly the same size for that reason. If it's not perfect then that would defeat the purpose of the snorkel because it might let water in. I've heard of a few people having issues with the aev leaking. I'm thinking it's just operator error. Thanks for watching. Master blaster reminds me of mad Max... Might be dating myself lol.

    What's a negative that folks are saying about the Peak Tierod sleeves? I haven't seen anyone on the Facebook forums saying anything negative. Interested in what you have heard.

    • @DustinFaddis
      @DustinFaddis  3 года назад +2

      Great question... The issue that you hear is that tie Rod sleeves just move the weak point to the steering rack. While I would say ...yes that’s an obvious downside. But it’s not as big of an issue as you would expect. GM makes a shorter sleeve that is said to give some strength but still not completely move the weak point to the rack. This is a theory and GM is definitely capitalizing on it by selling another gm performance part. I’ve seen only a couple stories about a steering rack blowing out and leaking when someone has sleeves on. There are a whole lot of guys out there running sleeves without issues. There are a bunch of pics and stories about guys not running sleeves and snapping a tie Rod. This leaves them stranded. The reason I run these tie Rod sleeves is that they add lots of strength and the places we go off road here in Alaska, take you 50+ miles from any road. I don’t want to risk being stranded out there. If I blow a steering rack it won’t leave me stranded like a broken tire Rod. Also, I’d like to note that the off-roading I do is more like overland or destination off-road. I’ll drive 50+ miles off road to go to a lake or area of a river that nobody’s at. I’m not trying to jump or do anything crazy like the guys that have blown up their steering racks. I do some rock crawling to get where I’m going and River crossing’s. So to sum this all up. It actually does transfer the weak point to the rack. But the type of driving I do would possibly break a tie Rod but I’m pretty confident I won’t blow the rack. Hope this helps out a bit

    • @DustinFaddis
      @DustinFaddis  3 года назад
