Not sure of what everyone is complaining about with the driver side coilovers bolt but I used a long extension and got it from the top and it was cake. Had about 15" or so inches worth of extension and rachet. Came right out. Them started it by hand and used the same extension and rachet to tighten it back down. I installed the lift coils so I was installing the same bolts.
Compared to the other side it’s just timely
Came across this video & happen to have the exact same set up as far as wheel size but i'm running a Ridge Grappler AT and some led bulbs. I agree it really makes these trucks stand out for the price.
got my satin steel zr2 in june and coincidentally my first mod was headlight and same bulb. I like how compact that bulb and thats why i picked it.
For the the s10 you could have made it way better for 1/3 of the price of the Colorado. I just bought my dream truck f250 powerstroke now my gm Sonoma is going to be running dana44s e lockers with 35s. 410 gears can't wait to build it.
Sounds like a good build... this platform is 20 years newer with twin lockers and double the power. For what I want to use it for this is superior to my old rig. The s10 is a great truck to start out in. No regrets buying it but I needed more space.
Just put a leveling kit in my zr2 a week ago, knew the strut nuts were in a bad spot and thought about getting a flex head wrench, but I thought it would be fine. Definitely, definitely not fine. Hated life for sure after that.
I have 33x12.5 on mine, I actually did a 3 inch in the front, and thats all I had to trim as well. I was real worried about it, but was relieved that I only had to cut that tiny piece off.
Yeah these trucks don’t mind a larger tire. Pretty happy with 33s so far !

I put the diesel springs in at the same time . much better ride and stance. Iused my 5th wheel hitch to swap out the springs.

ZR2S ARE THE BEST got a 2001 ZR2 King Cab I 2001 ZR2 Blazer would not trade them for anything I've had a 2010 Wrangler and I have a 2011 Cherokee Overland 5.7 Hemi out of all of them I love my ZR2 Blazer

They thought I was gonna give 18k for a single cab at Morristown Chevrolet 2012 model silverado and the guy said we can’t take 13 for it we got more than that in it and it’s been a month since I looked at it and I told the guy I guess it will sit there and I drove by last night and the stupid things still there

Are you located in nirthrast Tennessee? I moved back home to my carmel,th to look after my elderly 85 year old father. I recently bought a 2024 zr2 in harvest bronze metallic color. Thinking about replacing the stock 17 inch wheels and stock Goodyear wrangled territory m/t size 285/70R17 tires. Might go with 305/70r17 tires by either Toyo,Cooper or Yokohama brand tires.

I watched big frog’s video and did it his way. I think it was easier than the included directions. I didn’t need to remove the whole coil assembly. Took me like an hour and a half for both sides in my driveway. Either way, job got done bro.👍

I have a GMC CANYON and I put a rough country leveling kit raise it up 2 inches in the front cuz it sits low stock but I want it a little higher any advice on wat I should do 🤔 ur calorado looks great
I would look at a body lift if you don’t want to mess with any more suspension components

Liked the video. Thoughts: alignment after level? Extended bumpstops? Speedo adjustment for bigger tires? Regear coming?
HP tuners for calibration... and DOD delete. I’ll add the bumpstops. No need for regearing. 8 speed auto.
I like the ZR-2 but need my full sized Z-71. Lockers would be nice though.

I know this is a older vid but why did you have the wheels turned in the final shot to look at . it hard to get a good look of what its like with the wheels turned next time straighten the wheels after you show tire clearance

Great video. How are the CV angles affected by the increased height? How much did the angles increase over stock?
I’m concerned that they’ll be too steep, causing issues or premature wear/failure.

How much higher/ taller is the truck now with the leveling kit and 33”s? Will this still fit in a garage?
It’s about 2.25” taller. You’ll be fine it fits my door. The top antenna touches a tad but not a big deal.
And thanks for the led halogen heads up ima change the lights on my wife’s enclave to leds
Would you recommend a 4” BDS lift for 33” Tires for the ZR2 to reduce any trimming or rubbing?

I would look at going with a leveling kit and sticking with a +10 or stock offset wheel. Just a tad of plastic trimming and you can fit 33s leveled. You can run 35s with the BDS.
Still happy with that brand of LED headlamp? I am curious if there are even brighter versions.
So far it’s been great! Compared to my other trucks the brightness is on par with them. I can’t really say one is significantly brighter than the other.
How much did the lift kit and 33” wheels raise the truck? What’s the total height ( roof clearance) now?
I lifted it about 2.25” over stock. It’s about 1.5” away from hitting my garage door lol it’s tight
Did you have to do anything with the control arms? GM performance sells the spacer and control arms in the same kit. Reason for that?
Personally for what I use the truck for I didn’t find it necessary. I’ll go BDS eventually and 35s.
Do they rub more under full flex when crawling? Or do you steer clear of those obstacles?
So far so good ! On three wheels last week with no rubbing. Only did once when I cut it deep and hit a rut super hard
Have you found a need to add a diff drop like the one Peak sells? Some ZR2 owners have discovered some issues that are resolved with a diff drop to better correct some angles. Thanks.
So far I haven’t seen a need for that.. I’ve had the truck offroad and on 3 wheels. I’m sure with lots of abuse it could cause trouble but for moderate weekend warriors like myself it’s fine.

Did your kit come with the bumpstops? I see kits that list them or "needs extended bumpstops"
I have been running this setup for 20k miles with zero issues. I would say it’s not needed.
On a 2021 Colorado z71 what inch level kit front n rear would you recommend to find 33s
You’ll need a lift kit to run 33s on a Z71. Look at peak suspension

Also It has color matched mirrors, center piece grill, some other stuff and color matched headlights. The headlight look professionally done. I could make your ZR2 more capable than your Colorado zr2 for $1,500 I'm going to start a local truck shop,garage n hangout for 4x4 trucks. The garage I'm going to start in a few months will be mainly for S10 4x4 and S10 ZR2 N ZR5.

We escaped quarantine this weekend to explore Drummond Island, MI in the UP in our Chevy Colorado ZR2 Bisons! Was so much fun on top of frozen snow, got to 0F the night before. Such beautiful country.
